I have three pairings that I really like. The first two I'll mention I really can't decide between which I like better, even though one is more "canon" than the other. Notice the quotes. Only the third one I like is actually canon. xD

I figure I don't really need to explain this one a whole lot. xD My friend Snow converted me in to it, and the more I thought about it, the more I agreed with her. I guess the one thing I'll say about it is that while I do believe Phoenix could find someone else he could care about, I'm not really sure about Miles being able to do the same thing. (I'm sure loads of people would be willing to argue me about that, although so far that's what I think. xD)

According to a search I did on this thread, I beliiiieve I'm the first one to mention this pairing. Correct me if I'm wrong! But I do believe that requires me to explain myself a little bit (aka a lot), lest I get severely wtf'd.
OKAY FIRST OF ALL.
I would love love love to ship Max x Regina. But I really really really doubt it would ever actually happen. I know she's sixteen and apparently she doesn't know any better, but if she's having issues between Max and Trillo, then I'm just a little bit concerned about her being a worthy partner for our magician over here.
SECONDLY:
I do realize it's nearly impossible for them to have met, although if you're interested I have thought of two situations where it could have happened.
- ONE: (The one I find more likely) It's possible they could have met at some sort of celebratory dinner/festival/show/what have you. Similar to the one that Matt's trial was centered around. Since they've both won fabulous prizes, I reckon they'd at least have seen each other during one of those kinds of parties.
- TWO: (The one I admit to being almost ridiculous) Suppose Max actually wanted to go through with his super-amazing prison breakout TV special! thing he talked about for almost five seconds in JFA. Assuming he began production around the time where Matt was in prison, there is a (very slim) chance they could have ran in to each other that way.
If I haven't lost you yet, I'm willing to keep talking. xD
THIRD:
Here's the part where I talk about why I think they'd 'work out' as a couple.
-ahem-
At first, the only reason they'd probably would want to know each other was because of their status, fame, what have you. Matt probably more so than Max; he'd want to get to know Max's income more than anything else, while Max would probably just want to be friendly because he knows it'd do him some good down the line. I imagine they would get along fairly well, especially during the 'acquaintance' phase they would go through, where Matt would have his refreshing mask on during the time he was with Max. He's not exactly hard to get along with, when he's being a nice boy.
When Matt would start revealing his true colors, that's when the relationship would get interesting, methinks.
Somehow I'm convinced that Max wouldn't be horribly phased by Matt's two-sidedness. Firstly because Max's occupation involves being around abnormal people nearly 24 hours a day, and secondly because Max also suffers from the same condition in a much less severe way. I, of course, am not going as far as to say Maximillion Galactica and Billy Bob Johns are two separate entities, although I do think Max would understand the idea of having two parts to one person. He'd probably be much more sympathetic to Matt in that regard, and therefore more willing to put up with it.
Matt's reason for being in the relationship, at first, would probably be entirely fiscal, I admit. Although assuming that Mr. Engarde is capable of caring about someone, I think Max could be a person to bring that part of himself out.
Matt would probably appreciate the devotion given to him by Max, if they were a couple. I'm pulling this from Max's behavior regarding Regina in-game, and if that was the case with everyone he was romantically interested in, I'm willing to bet that would stroke Matt's ego much to his liking. Likewise Max would probably enjoy nice!Matt's attention and sense of fun, while his concern for darkside!Matt would make him want to 'help' in whatever way he could.
-deep breath-
Now, after all that, I am going to have a big disclaimer here and FULLY ADMIT to this pairing being impossible due to Matt's incarceration. My fragile little pairing highly depends on the fictional scenario where Matt was found not guilty.
But, my dears, anything is possible in the realm of fangirldom. ;D

But you also miss that Franziska realizes that she mistreated Adrian for the sake of the case, that it was very much the wrong thing to do, and tries to make it up to her--reaching out to her with the note and offer 'consultation' if Adrian ever needs anything in PW2, and teaching her how to use a whip in PW3.
It -is- reaching out to Adrian on a level she doesn't do to anyone else.
But weren't Fran's attempts to reach out to Adrian also part of her plan? Do we have any indication that anything that Fran does is truly sincere? Especially since what she says about Adrian behind her back and what she says to her face is very different. Even in the "whip conversation", Adrian says (and I'm paraphrasing here, but the gist is the same) "Ms. Von Karma came over and showed me how to use her whip...she told me I should show you what I've learned" (directed towards Phoenix). Almost everything Franziska does has some ulterior motive. If there's someone who can be easily taken advantage of, she'll take advantage of them. I'm not saying I dislike the pairing...it just doesn't seem likely, IMO.

I wouldn't know if Maggey/Gumshoe is all that canon... after what she acted like in TAT... even after her butt was saved. Though she seemed to warm up to Gumshoe again...... Gumshoe was practically left crying and running away, so I wouldn't know what their final relationship right now is. Though I still support these two, just not as much maybe.

After Matt was guilty, after Adrian was in jail for tampering with the crime scene, and after Franziska broke down in the airport. Franziska has absolutely no reason to lie to Adrian anymore, especially given that Edgeworth has just told her about the similarities between her/Adrian when it comes to being able to grow.
True, we don't have evidence that Franziska's being sincere about ANYTHING, but... >_> that's... an awfully cynical route to take.

But her insincerity is very in-character for Franziska, at least during JFA. And personally, I don't think that Edgeworth's talk with her did anything except make her upset. Did Fran have an ulterior motive for wanting Adrian under her thumb? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe not.
Anyway, I find that debating pairings is different than debating hard fact, since anyone can pair people together convincingly if they write/draw it well enough, and Fran and Adrian have a lot of interaction during JFA, so I can see why people pair them. Heck, if I had a particularly interesting idea I'd write a short fic about them; I just...don't really see it. I think that's fair enough.

Oh, and one-sided Adrian/Celeste is absolutely wonderful. I have friends who are just like Adrian and Celeste, and the Adrian-like friend (she even has a dependency/latching problem) really likes the Celeste-like friend, who says to me she likes her but won't go out with her because she 'doesn't date'.
And I thought that would have been really tragic yet awesome. ;_;
