Ben burst into the coffee shop, his hair ruffed and his clothes tattered. He had the look of someone who had just been attack by a bear. He took two steps and stumbled into a stool by the counter. "Don..." he said, in a rather distraught raspy voice. "...the usual." He then slumped his head on the counter.

Don looked at Sklar and said "Nope, you can stay." Then he looked to Ben. "Could you get a special blend #205 with extra sugar for Ben?" He asked Sklar. He walked over to Ben and asked "What happened to you? Did you get attacked by a bear or something?"

Sklar nodded and headed into the kitchen. She made sure not to set anything on fire this time. Adding a diabetic-nightmare's worth of sugar to the cup, she walked back to were Ben was. "Yee," she muttered and looked down at him "Are you okay? Should I get some bandaids or something?"

Phil walked through the door with a smile on his face. He got to see all his friends again. But in less than 3 seconds that face was planted onto the floor after tripping on his shoelace. "I always see that happen in comics, I just never knew that could actually happen!" He kneeled up, tied his shoe and brushed off his shirt. He didn't know what he was trying to brush off, Don kept this shop in perfect order.

I never did bake those muffins last night. I wonder if Don and Sklar would like some? Oh wait, guess I should learn how to make them first...where are those cards....

A sudden noise stopped the girl from talking, as a rather disheveled looking young man came literally bursting inside the shop. Saori paused for a while, forgetting she was in a phone conversation. Her friend's voice then came back and she realized she was staring. Placing the receiver closer to her ear once more, she spoke. "Ah... Youki, sorry about that. I'll call you back later. Looks like something happened." With that, she slid the phone's top downwards and placed it back into her skirt's pocket.

She kept on watching the scene in front of her, while continuing to sit on the counter's barstool. After the man with the tattered clothes came in, another one arrived. This time, he tripped on an untied shoelace. The girl chuckled, not necessarily meaning to. She suddenly covered her mouth, hoping the man didn't notice. Shooting him an apologetic gaze, she turned around and faced the counter. Her mocha was getting cold. It was then she noticed the mug that was used to hold her coffee. It had a rather cute design, light brown speckled with small black cats on both rims. It suited the inside color of the drink and possibly, made it look even better.

Taking the once forgotten muffin in her left hand, she took a bite. Sweetness with a bit of crunch greeted her taste buds. It was even more delicious than she thought. After taking one more bite, she washed down the solid with another gulp from her drink. Turning around once more, she wondered what happened to the disgruntled looking man who came in.

As Phil was baking the muffins, he tried to listen to what was going on in the shop. Since no one else was working tonight, he had to make sure things were going right. He heard a girl chuckling, but he didn't know why. He also heard the man in ripped clothes talking to himself, wondering what he had been up to. But Phil had not even met the man, and he wasn't going to start by asking about his personal life.

The ding of the oven rang in Phil's ears, and like clockwork he opened the oven door and took the muffins out, spreading them equally out on two plates, one for Sklar and one for Don. As he did this, his body switched to auto-pilot as he thought about the past few days. How Don's hiring of him made happier than he has been in a while, how the snobby prosecutor aced like he was her servant, and Sklar. He would never forget her.

"Crap!" I muttered to myself as I felt a muffin fall on my foot. I wondered what I should do with the now inedible muffin. Sure, the floor was clean, but I don't think anybody would want to eat a floor muffin. I laughed at myself with the original name I came up with. I wrote "Floor Muffin" on a piece of paper, tacked it up on the wall, and put the muffin under it. I wonder if anyone will eat it?

He suddenly lept up and slammed his heads on the table. "IF YOU SEE JADE EDGEWORTH COME IN, TELL HER I'M NOT HERE!!" He then imediately passed out, hitting his head on the table once more.

Don had an idea of what had happened, the same thing almost happened to him st one point.
"There are rooms up stairs, and a bathroom so you can wash up. Make yourself at home." Don helped his friend get up and walked him towards the stairs.

"Mr. Pole was not a nice person," Ben mumbled as Don helped him up the stair. "So...cold.....so cold...." He remained quiet when they entered the room. But just as Don began to leave, Ben held the door. "Please don't tell Attey..." and with that once more the P.I. fell to the floor, unconscious.

Phil saw all this with his mouth hanging open. Once he realized it, he quickly shut it. He had no clue what was going on, but curiosity got the better of him. He walked out the door, looking both ways for any sign of the pole, or Jade. He couldn't tell which was more dangerous, although he had a pretty good idea.

I started walking down the sidewalk, being cautious not to go too far, as I was supposed to be working still. I caught sight of what looked like Jade, and ran away, more because of what she would order me to do. People like that annoy me. A lot. Anyway, once I got back to the shop I slow back down to a walk, peeked through the doors and went right back to my post.

((I already read what happened at the beach o_o))
As I came in, Don was walking down the stairs. Phew, that was close, I thought to myself. Hey, Don seemed to know what happened to him. Maybe I should ask him....

Don heard Phil call him. He turned toward the young man and noticed a trail of dirt coming from his shoes. "Phil must have been outside." Don thought to himself. "I bet he was watching for Jade..."
Don walked over to Phil and made a glance at the dirt on the floor.

He thought about all the court shows he used to watch, and about assault. He was worried about bringing it up though, because if no one else has there must be something else going on...

Don started to walk away, then remembering something turned back and said, "The one who smooshed his face. If you see the one who has the... um..." he held up his hands near his chest, but not to close, "... um... the tea lady. Let me know if you see her."

Tea lady. He could already start to see his life as a sitcom, with all these special names for things or people. "Oh, tea lady? No problem." He had to say it. "Uhm, what happens if she, er, threatens me? 'Cause, well, she, er, kinda looks like the type that would do that..." His voice trailed off, wondering about what could happen if the tea lady did come in. "Anyway, if she comes in, don't tell her anything about Ben. Got it." He was speaking much quicker now, like a little mouse.

"Well" He said, perking up at the sight of Sklar, "I don't completely know everything, bu from what I've heard, Ben was abused by the Tea Lady, sorry, Jade, at the beach, and apparently what she did to him then she did to him again." This brought back some memories for Phil. He's always stuck up for his few friends whenever they were picked on or bullied. Throughout school he's always been loyal to his friends, and still is to this day. But what happens when you barely know the person being abused?

My mind raced with thoughts and feelings, mostly anger, but he didn't want to scare Sklar off. Not that he could, anyway...
"Oh yeah!" I remembered the muffins. "I made some muffins for you and Don for being so nice to me. I think I left them on a plate in the kitchen. Should I get them for you?"

((Finally finished the sprite of about what my guy looks like, you get the idea

At that moment, Athena Cross came into the coffee shop. She had a concern look on her face as she glanced around. She spotted Donald and waved to him. At the counter, she spoke, "Mr. Serrot, you haven't seen Ben around here, have you? I've been trying to get in touch with him, but he wouldn't answer my calls."

He quickly took a sip from his mug of hot cocoa. It was cold.
"Um... I'll... be right back!" He started heading to the kitchen hoping that she wouldn't follow him to get the answers.

A Psyche-lock! Athena thought, it's been a while since she saw one of those. I'd thought I'd never have to use this dreadful thing again. But Donald's hiding something about Ben, and I intend to find out what.

She circled in front of him, blocking his entrance to the kitchen. "Donald, you are hiding something about Ben from me, and that is alway a no-no to me." He reached into her pocket, feeling the smooth edge of her Magatama. It felt warm in her hand as she pulled it out. "Take that!" She shouted. Suddenly, the coffee shop around her dissapeared, leaving only Don and five locks and chains around him.

"Donald, I have to know the truth. You know exactly where Ben is, don't you?"

I think with the right evidence, I can get him to crack. Athena thought. What proof does she have that Donald knows where he is. She thought back to the last visit she had here...Ben's usual order....that's it!

"Donald, you know exactly where he is, and this is proof I have!" She picked up the hot mug of coffee and the packet of sugar. "This coffee was just made, I believe. And I remember the aroma quite well. It's Blend #205, Ben favorite and usual at this joint. In other words, Donald, Ben is right here in this Coffee shop!"

I stared into the kitchen, wondering what the hell was going on. Apparently, the girl showed Don some jewel thing, and mention something about locks or whatever. I had no clue what was going on, so I focused on my work.

"Hey Don! I think your friend in tattered clothes left his wallet with his mug." I walked into the kitchen and handed it to him.

That look pierced Phil's heart it almost stopped. "Umm...I-I t-t-think I'll g-g-go...." He sprinted out of the kitchen, hurdled over the counter and burst through the door. All of this in less than 5 seconds.

What were they talking about? I've never seen Don like that. I should probably stay away for a bit...

Jade, the prosecutor? What has she done to him? Athena thought. She followed Donald up the stairs toward the room Ben currently occupied. When they got there, Athena lightly tapped on the door. "Ben? Ben, are you okay?"

They heard scuffling noices, possibly Ben scrambling around at he sound of Athena's voice. Moments later, Ben opened the door, with a forced grin. "Attey! It's great to see you!"

"Ben, don't give me that," Athena snapped. "What did Jade do to you?"

Ben glared at Donald, know full well who spilled the beans to Attey. "Attey, I really don't want to talk about it."

"Ben!" she shouted, clutching his arm. "I've told you how much I hate it when you keep secrets from me!" Ben could see tears welling up in Athena's eyes. "Now tell me or I swear to god I'll use my Magatama to pry your mouth open!"

Ben sighed, knowing it was useless to argue. "Donald, could you leave us alone for a few minutes?"

He stood there for a little bit trying to hear what they were saying. They were talking really soft so he couldn't hear.
Finally he gave up and walked back down the stairs. "I wonder where Phil went? I hope he comes back soon."

As Don came down the stairs he saw Phil behind the counter looking over his shoulder. There weren't any customers around so he called over to his employee. "Phil! There you are! I was just thinking of looking for you!"
He tried to do his best to show that he wasn't angry. "I'm sorry about that earlier... I was under allot of pressure back there." "I hope he'll forgive me..."

Phil was glad to see that Don was back to normal. "Oh, h-hey. I wasn't mad in case you were wondering, you just scared me. That face..." he paused. "you just reminded me of someone..." His voice trailed off again. And that horrible memory came back to him, the one he tried to block out. He was in a trance for a few minutes, doing his best not to think of it, but it was no use.

(Here's me coming in when almost everyone is off again :D )
Things seemed to be slowing down customer-wise for now. Don was busy chatting with Figgy, and Ben with Attey. She toyed with the rings on her finger and thought for something to do. Remembering the muffins, Sklarvv walked back to the kitchen. She opened the door with a bit too much force, the wind from it blew a paper off the table, not that she noticed. There were two plates of muffins there, and one sitting all lonely-like. Feeling bad for the left out pastry, she picked it up and munched on it as she went back to her seat where her sketches were. The O's on the paper labeled "Floormuffin" looked up at her as she left.

Married to Don- Mom to Obby, Wassa, Gavinner, and someone whose name starts with a C... :P

In merely sitting down on the counter's bar stool, she witnessed numerous things and numerous people come inside the shop. It felt as if something extremely urgent was happening, but sadly, she had no idea what. Sipping from her mug once more, a worried looking woman came in, looking for someone named Ben. She knew it was extremely rude to eavesdrop, but she wanted to know what exactly was happening. She could hear parts of their conversation, but not everything. In her mind, she simply tried her best to piece together what they were saying.

It seemed this woman could feel Don lying. It surprised the girl, the idea was rather baffling. While the two were in mid-discussion, one of the employees shouted, "Hey Don! I think your friend in tattered clothes left his wallet with his mug." As if he took the liberty to release the secret of the man, Don looked at him, annoyance quite apparent in his face. From what the employee had said, and basing it from the expression of Don and the woman, she realized they were talking about the man who franticly came in a few minutes ago.

Sipping from her mug once more, she could see the two from the corner of her eye. They were heading upstairs to check upon this Ben.

Snacking on a floormuffin, listening to Gogol Bordello and drawing fandom crack, Sklar was in her element. She took a sip of her tea to realise it was cold and unsweetened. She stood up from the table and left her open sketchbook to a half-finished comic as she waltzed back to the kitchen on a hunt for honey and a microwave as she sang along (Quietly, really!) to "Wonderlust King".
