Claire valiant walked in the cafe miserable, her new job as prison security was difficult to say the least. A person raid on her first week over something as stupid as pack of matches, she didn't know what she singed up for all she knew is that she was going to get paid well for it... (well that is what you get for not doing research I guess) she walked in (Well at least a good cup of... something would help me...meh)
she didn't want to think all she wanted to do was sit down and drink something. so she walked up to the counter.

Sklar poked her head out from the kitchen. Costomer.
She walked over to Claire and smiled. "Heyo, today's the grand opening, so you get a free drink. Nifty, huh?" She gave Claire the menu just in time to hear the microwave ding. "Call me when you dicide, okay?" she said before returning to the kitchen, coming back out and leaning against the counter with tea in one hand and a drink ingredient list in the other, reading it over so she wouldn't look dumb if asked anything. It dawned on her for the first time that this person was the first costomer she'd ever taken care of.

She appreciated the warm welcome from the waiter (I think that, this was the first good decision she made all day ((she rubbed the black eye from the fight she picked from the bigger prisoner, shit it's still bleeding a little)she grabbed a napkin and started to clean it up. when she was done she looked at the menu and realized that she didn't have a blueberry muffin in a long time so she grabbed a piece of paper she kept in her pocket and wrote what she wanted down and placed it on the table, then she opened her bag and looked around in her bag to realize that something was missing "where did I leave it can't afford another library book replacement fee" she started to take out everything from her bag even her wallet. she stoped and started placeing everything back *sigh* (I think it might be in the break room I shouldn't make a scene) she didn't realize several people where staring. until she heard something.

Phil, getting things straightened out with Don, headed into the kitchen to make himself some coffee. When he walked in, he saw Sklar munching on a muffin. "Hey Sklar, like the muffins I made?" In the back of his mind he knew he worked a little harder on Sklar's muffins, but he wouldn't tell her.

Wait, her pile of muffins seems untouched. I saw the sign on the floor with no muffin, looked up, and grinned. I guess muffins that fell on the floor taste no different.

"How was the floormuffin?"

A surly man came walking into the coffee house, swinging his arms emphatically. He wore a leather jacket and had messy, dirty hair. No one could tell what color it was, but it appeared to be brown at the time. He had ripped blue jeans and worn out mud-incrusted dress shoes on his feet. Sklar looked over at Figgy. "Floor-muffin? What?" but was cut off as the tattered man (and what seemed to be most of the soil from the ground outside) marched in. She sighed and walked back over to the table where her customer sat. She looked at the paper on the table and then up at the woman. It was first cup free, but the muffins were about the same size, so she thought it would be safe to substitute. "Just a minute,"
Coming back from the room with a randomly selected muffin, she put it down on the table and noticed a bloodied napkin sitting there. She jumped back a little "Yikes! Are you okay?"

Everything seemed to be going perfectly normal, when what appeared to be a worn-out man wearing a red shirt, and over that, a black leather jacket stumbled in. Some fell silent, however most didn't notice.
"Don't mind me," he said to the people who were silent . "I'm just tired."
They all returned to their drinks and meals, and the man walked towards a stool and sat down. He had medium-length black hair, in which the fringe fell down to his right eyebrow, as if to be covering something on this forehead there.
"I'd like... well.. some coffee please," he asked. "Oh, and you can call me Steve."

By this time Don had gotten back from some errands. He watched as the man in red and black came in and sat at the counter. The man ordered a cup of coffee and said his name was Steve.
"Here you go Steve!" Don said "One fresh cup of coffee! Do you need any cream of sugar for that?" Don had asked that question so many times in his life that it just came naturally.

"Thanks, I'm fine though," was his natural reply. He took a big gulp of the coffee, and swallowed half the mug in one go. He made a pretty loud slurping noise, which embarrassed him, so he set the cup down without thinking. He let out a sigh of relief, as the coffee was the best he had tasted in a long time.
"This is good stuff," he complimented Don. "How much?" He begins to drink some more, but more calmly and politely this time.

Steve was unsure what to do next, so he just sat there, waiting for something to happen.
He suddenly thought he'd have a little fun, so he exited the coffee shop, and then fiddled with his hair until it looked like Phoenix Wright's. He then walked in slowly, struggling to keep a straight face, and then sat down.

Don was a little puzzled, who would turn down a free drink? "A muffin is $0.75.You said you wanted chocolate correct? I'll check and see if any are ready. If not they only take about 5 minutes to cook. I'll be right back."
Don walked into the kitchen. he saw the tray of muffins, but they weren't chocolate ((I don't think they were)) so he started on a fresh batch. He looked over at the tray of muffins on the table just as his stomach growled. "It won't hurt to take just one." he thought as he grabbed one. "This muffin has a bit more flavor than usual..." He didn't notice the price of paper that read "FLOOR MUFFINS".

By the time Saori had finished her cup, a woman came in, her face bruised and speckles of blood were on her face. It made the pink haired girl feel a bit nauseous to see someone in such a state. Wishing she could do something, yet at the same time not wanting to look rude, she contemplated whether or not to offer her help. The woman approached, her short fluffed up red hair slightly swaying as she walked. Approaching the counter, she sat down on a bar stool a few seats away from Saori. Finally deciding it best not to intrude, she merely kept quiet and tentatively reached for the plate in which her half-eaten muffin lay.

It didn't take long, and in a few bites, she had finished the small pastry. Grabbing her cellphone, she checked the time and noticed she had spent nearly an hour and a half in the cafe. It was time for her to take her leave. Remembering the amount that she had due, the woman reached into her skirt's pocket and retrieved a few coins. Carefully counting in order to make sure that it was not short, she signaled one of the staff members to come and take the money. In a brisk motion, a personnel was standing in front of her, accepting the coins she had to offer.

Saori lightly jumped down from her seat and faced the personnel, a warm smile in tow. "Thank you very much for the muffin and mocha. I really enjoyed myself." She paused for a while in order to accommodate a deep bow. Rising, she continued, "I'll make sure to return once again." She turned around in a rather gentle manner as she headed for the other side of the room. Once there, two glass doors swung open to her light push. Feeling contented and energized, the woman proceeded off, wrapping her coat tightly around herself. Inwardly, she questioned her own gesture for as she left the building, despite the pouring rain, she couldn't help but feel a little warmer than before.

"Hey, Don." she said, trying not to laugh "Don't worry, Phil says I ate the tainted muffin, I just didn't pick up the sign." For a moment she considered crumpling to the ground and making retchy noises, but opted not to.

Don felt relief, his muffin wasn't floor tainted.
He finished it and started on the chocolate muffins. He pulled out the cook book and started mixing the ingredients. A rich chocolate smell filled the air.
The wonderful aroma intensified when he put them in the oven. Don set the timer both on the oven and on his watch.
He went out to the main area to make sure there weren't any customers who hadn't been taken care of. He was relieved to see there weren't.

The shop looked pretty empty. There were no costomers that needed to be served and she couldn't hear any fights breaking out over the low hum of "One Hit Wonder" that was droning in her ears. Sklar hummed along to it softly and toyed with her ring for a moment, hoping she'd be asked to do something.
She sat back at her table and leafed through the 16th issue of Fullmetal, looking for a good ref pic of Scar. (lol, got that book Thursday. It owns.)

Steve sat there, appearing to be staring at the floor into space. The reality was, of course, he was playing his DS. That all became clear when the sudden Mario death sound filled the air.

He looked up, and only realised the smell of the chocolate. He sniffed it, relaxed... then pulled out his DS again.

Don had finished cleaning the main seating area and moved to the storage room to organize things a bit.
He heard a voice call out "Hello? Don? You back there?" It sounded familiar. "I better go see who it is, could it be?..."
Don walked out of the storage room and saw a familiar face.

At that moment Don's watch went off.
"And it looks like a fresh batch of chocolate muffins just finished baking! I'll go get them while you decide what you want to drink." Don walked into the kitchen and took the muffins out of the oven. He placed them on a tray to let them cool. He took the muffins back out to the counter and set them on the counter behind him to cool.

Don quickly prepared the beverage with a level speed and skill that took years to master. ((Not bad since I only worked at Tim Horton's for a little under a year! XD))

Don just shook his head and laughed to himself. "$1.00. You sure you want more?"
"I hope he settles down before he heads out." Don thought to himself.
"Why did I build this? Well, I always wanted to... I don't really know why, I just love this kind of work. I get to see people enjoying themselves and it makes me happy. Ty hands Don another dollar and sits down to try to slow down. eventually he does. "Sorry, normally I have a tolerance of caffeine, but I havent had some in a while, so yeah. instead of espresso, I'll have a cappuccino. That will be good. This place is very relaxing. thats probably what slowed me down. I like the dark interior. Ty pulls out his iPhone and starts recording what happened in court in his iJournal.

Don took the dollar and made the cappuccino. "Thanks." Don said, "I tried to make this place calming and welcoming at the same time. I'm just thankful for all the people who came to help me get this built. I'd probably still be building this if they hadn't come along!" He handed Ty the drink and thought back to when her first walked down that road and stepped into the old, run down building.

Ty took the coffee and started sipping. He jumped up, realizing that he had seared his tongue. "OWWWWWWWWWIIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!" After running 10 laps around the store he relaxes again, noticing the music. "what kind of music is this?" he asked. "It reminds me somehow of the fragrance of dark coffee." Ty took some more sips, still recording in his journal.

Jade walked up the street, passing the the coffee house from before. It reminded her of that boy. 'I wonder if he escaped the cave... I should of swam him back I suppose.' She looked in the window and decided she wouldn't mind a cup of tea...
Walking through the door, adjusting her glasses she sat in the same table as before.

Sklar looked up from what she was doing at the new customer. She looked familiar. "Heyo," she called from the other side of the room "Would you like anything?" She was close to the kitchen anyway. It was, what's the word... Good time management? It's fancier than 'lazy'

Jade stared at him for a few minuets, then quickly shook her head. "Oh! Sorry... I've been a bit preoccupied in my thoughts, tea please." She sounded polite due to her British accent that, somehow remained since her visit there. She adjusted her red semi-transparent glasses and a gave a smile, rather similar to her 'Mentor's'

"Okay, then." Smiling and turning her back on the customer and walking into the kitchen, Sklar wondered vaguely to herself where everyone was. It seemed that whenever she had any free time, the rest of the crew were nowhere to be seen or busy. She nuked some water in the microwave and fetched a little tray of assorted teas. She poured two cups of water and the tray and went back out. Putting a cup and the tray on Jade's table and plucking an Earl Grey out of it, she sat with her cup at the next table over. "So, what's up? You seem... Out of it. If I can ask, I mean." she said as she bounced the tea bag around in it's cup by the string impatiently. "Tea's one-fifty, by the way." she added after a pause.

Jade nodded and took the tea, putting it down on the table. She gave a small grin and started up her charisma. "Oh? But this is my first cup... Do I really have to be left out in the offer?" she blinked and made a sad, fake but realistic pout as she pushed her glasses up her nose.
