I've been reading the 'Sheet music' topic on the AA 1-3 bit of the board, and I realised how many musicians we actually have here, of many different instruments. So I had the idea we could make our own online Album based on the First AA game, PW:AA called 'Inform the Truth' (If you don't like the name, we can change it :3)

In this project, I want to encapsulate lots of different musical styles because many people like different types of music. Some like Rock, some like Orchestra/Classical, some like Indie etc. etc. etc. So I had the idea that it would be made of different styles and even some from different countries :3 I've got the idea for a tracklist, but there are many gaps to be filled. And I need to know what sort of styles you want the tracks to be ^_^. So please, contribute either your ideas or even join the project as a musician (Any musical instruments welcome, be it piano, viola, bass guitar, cowbell or ukelele).

'Inform the Truth' (Working Title)- New music based on tracks from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Most names of the tracks are a work in progress)

6)Reminicance- Central Park (Folk- Folk/rock, the title relates to Simon & Garfunkel Concert)

11)The winning music one (Undecided)
12)Epilogue- (If we get a fairly large amount of people, a mini orchestral version :3)

No tracklist should be complete without the Steel Samurai theme! :D

I'll raise you a pianist and a violinist, though my keyboard is at home down south so can't record anything from that till I'm there. But violin is no problem as I have it here with me at Uni.

Thats great, you're in :3 I'm not going to be able to make any music, as my viola had to be given back after I left School after my GCSE's. But I have a keyboard to help me work out how to arrange the tracks :3

Also, have you thought about how you're going to compile the tracks? I took part in a project similar to this on another forum (but it never got finished). The main problem with getting musicians from different locations to collaborate is timing the tracks so they harmonise properly. It just takes one musician who holds notes a little longer than the others to make it sound out of time, when you're not playing together with a main orchestra to help you keep your pace.

That is an interesting problem, but one that can be sorted. All we need is a way of counting time for everyone. We could make a small flash movie that goes 1, 2, 3, 4 at the correct speed, or I could just edit it cleverly to make it fit

We could even get one person to do theirs, then send it to the next person so they know how long to do their notes :3 Or a recording of a metranome. I'm sure we can sort it out :3

Alternatively if you record the piano line for any piece first, the other instruments can take their lead from that if they're given the complete conductor's score ^_^

ForteS:I'd be happy to add you to the team ^_^ We especially need trumpets for the investigation-carnival one.

All: You all can be part of the team, we have a lot of tracks to do, so it would be helpful to have a few people who play each instument ^_^ But we also NEEEED more ideas, of tracks and also what style you want it to be in!

We also need Electric Guitars, Drums and Bass guitarists, because we couldn't do rock/indie etc. without them :F

There will always be some form of bass line to take cues from - whether it be piano, cello, bass guitar or drums. The bass line is the one constant that drives any piece - if you're in time and in tune with the bass line then the piece will sound fine :) And there's always metronomes XD

I can't do drum notation by the way - while I have the software for it, I have no idea how to notate it Oo;

Well, I can play the Violin/Fiddle quite well. But how exactly will this work? Will I need to record music and send it to you or something?

Yay! I'd love to help as much as possible! Try a jazzy style on the 'trial beggining theme'... I'm only saying this because it sounds good off-beat it is quite mp and relaxed. I tried, it sounds good ^_^ (played by ear before you ask for sheet music) I would really like to get a mic... I'm not that good at playing yet though. I'm doing grade 3 this summer. Hope this kinda helps... sorry if I'm just a waste of time *hides*

It shouldn't make a difference infact we want different trumpets to create beter sound. And, I was on grade 2/3 viola and I could play fairly competently, so you should do fine ^_^

I can transpose any instrumental line for Bb trumpet - and that applies to anybody else too, clarinet, sax, you name it. So don't worry about the key of your instrument!

Doesn't really matter what grade you are either - most things can be played with sufficient practice ^_^

Oh yeah, and we should grab an artist and get them to draw us a cover! That would be pretty ace :D

Gerkuman - I'm thinking Muse-style rock. Or hell, it could go metal XD Not completely sure - let me look at the midi and see what I can do with it ^_^

This really looks interesting! I can play the piano, though my mic isn't very good... whenever I record something, there's a lot of buzzing on the background. Urg. 4 pianists. Well, it IS one of the most played instruments in the world :3 You're in GD ^_^ Also, forte its been done :F Cadenza did it. But then again, we've got real instruments at our disposal; So we'll do it!

Also, I checked with my bro what Muse sounds like... And for some crazy reason IT WORKS! So thats another song completely sorted. Now we need a bass guitarist, electric guitarist and drummer (As well as more brass, string and woodwind instruments) :F

Edit: Also, would Turnabout Sisters work well as Queen style Rock?

We've got a pretty good set of instrumentalists here already - we can start doing some stuff soon I think. I have a document I piked from somewhere with the note ranges of different instruments so once we've got some pieces arranged we can start assigning people parts so they can practice. Also, an idea - would it be worth advertising this project on the LJ community as well? I know there's at least one flautist lurking around on there and probably a few others too.

I like the sound of this project. In fact, I'd like to volunteer.

I'm mostly a singer/vocalist (I'd better get a demo up sometime), but I do have instruments. To be precise, piano/keyboard (yes, ANOTHER one), acoustic guitar, and a very old and out-of-tune mandolin. I'm teaching myself to play the stringed instruments, but... well, my fingertips still feel funny from holding metal guitar strings down to play chords!

But nonetheless, I'm willing to lend a hand if need be. I just need a better microphone...

ACOUSTIC GUITAR!! Yay! That will definatly help us with the reminicence track (How can you have Folk/Folk Rock without acoustic guitars!). We can use the Mandolin too if you tune it :F You're in Kwoffei ^_^

Also, YUS we should advertise on LJ. Please put that we especially need an electric guitar player, a bass guitar player, a drummer, a flutist and other woodwind instrument players, stringed instrumentists and brass instrumentists. Also, please link to the Gyakuten Mecha LJ, they need more visitors :3

And on the salsa idea, thats going to be part of the Investigation Music track (Like the one on Gyakuten meets Orchestra) Just imagine a salsa version of Gumshoes theme! (Also, Logic and Trick is the plinky music when Phoenix is thinking, not Gumshoes)

UPDATE: Can all of the people in the project do 2 things.

1) If you have MSN, add me and Mazda to your lists so we can talk to you
2) As soon as you can, please send me a sample of all the instruments you will play by email. There is no rush, but It would be nice to have one ^_^

Oh, and on the GS1 OST, the Logic and Trick theme is labelled with Gumshoe's Japanese name, hence I assumed it was his theme XD

Congratulations Everybody is track 19 on the OST - it plays a lot when Larry or Lotta Hart are on screen. That would sound awesome as a string track, you could have lots of fun double-stopping those chords XD

if it helps any, i play flute. i'm not sure if my mic is uber high-quality. it's still just a regular mic, along with the standard program to record: Sound Recorder. >>;
