It seems that Capcom has registered the trademark"Apollo Justice." Let the speculation begin.

Wow... I'm not sure what Apollo is meant to mean. I should look it up, I know it's Greek and something to do with the sun.

Maybe Minuki will be called...

Spoiler: Beware, those clued up on Greek Mythology
Artemis?

Look here! This gives significant evidence that we don't have to worry. A lot of speculation points towards a Rival Schools sequel rather than anything else.

Capcom's Apollo Justice: what could it be?

Tags: Capcom, Japan, apollo, patent Capcom is reportedly working on a project called Apollo Justice. This is based on a patent recently filed with the Japanese patent office. No specific platform has been tied to the project yet.

So far, there has been no details on what kind of a game Apollo Justice will be, but speculation has marked it as a possible new entry in the Rival Schools fighting series. The first Rival Schools title released in Japan was Justice Gakuen, which translates to "Justice Academy", while the last was Project Justice.

The inclusion of the word "Justice" in the title of Capcom's new project doesn't necessarily give out much, but speculation can sometimes be fun, as would a new Rival Schools title. What about you guys? What do you think it is? Leave a comment and tell us your thoughts.

Whilethe name of "Gakuen" may implicate Gyakuten, Apollo Justice and Justice Academy sound like stuff to do with superheroes.

*shakes head* They are only basing it because it has Justice in the name. My source provides an educated guess. Recall, if you will, the article. It says, and I quote, 'The first Rival Schools title released in Japan was Justice Gakuen, which translates to "Justice Academy", while the last was Project Justice.'

Therefore...

*Closeup and superattack sound effect* Your argument is invalid!

My argument is not invalid, nor is yours. However, take note that "Justice Academy" and "Project Justice" are names of things, while Apollo Justice sounds more like the name of a person. Justice is also fitting for a character who is a lawyer.

At this point, both speculations are valid.

How the sun in roman mythology links to 'Suprising' or 'Lawboy' I have no idea. But surely if it was the name of the game...

How do you get Phoenix Wright from Ryuuichi Naruhodou?

Also, "Phoenix Wright" by itself is trademarked.

I mean, like, the take the last name 'Lawson'. It refers to the law, but isn't that corny. Now, 'Justice'. That's just corny.

Maybe it doesn't translate or link really, but it certainly conveys "a passionate heart burning red" at least. :odoroki: *shrugs*

If this IS the actual decision, I won't mind so much. Whatever Capcom goes with, as long as it's not COMPLETELY ridiculous, is fine in my book.

Why the heck is he named after Haunter in the German version of Pokemon? And why the heck do I remember such things?

Naah, doubt it to the max. I just searched after the name origin, though the name doesn't mean anything, it is speculated a lot about which word it is carried from, which is quite interesting. And don't forget the Greek god.

From Greek Απολλων (Apollon), which is of unknown meaning, though perhaps related to Indo-European *apelo "strength". Another theory states that Apollo can be equated with Appaliunas, an Anatolian god whose name possibly means "father lion" or "father light". The Greeks later associated Apollo's name with the Greek verb απολλυμι (apollymi) meaning "to destroy". In Greek mythology Apollo was the son of Zeus and Leto and the twin of Artemis. He was the god of prophecy, medicine, music, art, law, beauty, and wisdom. Later he also became the god of the sun and light.

Well.... err.

It's just a patent, people. It gives absolutely no indication of what the name is for, so it's rather silly to just jump to conclusions and hate the name outright. At least wait for some sort of confirmation of its connection to an english release of GS4 first, if any.

Maybe, one other website speculates it could be the subtitle for the next game, and has nothing to do with :odoroki:'s name.

Here's my card and let's see where it flies. According to the 360 site, Apollo Justice was filed with the Japanese Patent office. And as Guess_Who pointed out, 'Phoenix Wright', at the minimum, is filed under the American offices.

Now, there's not to say that there can't be overlap. But I'd have thought that if it was GS4's localization that it'd be found under the American Copy protection.

If the name turns out to be Odoroki's name I'll be a bit disappointed. I actually really like the name Apollo, but the last name Justice is far too hamfisted.

On the other hand, if it does turn out to be a new Rival Schools/Project Justice game, I'll be ecstatic. I'm a huge Rival Schools fan. (Though the name "Apollo Justice" doesn't really fit with the naming scheme of previous games in the Rival Schools series, despite having the word Justice in the title.)

Again, it could also be something completely unrelated to either series.

I'm actually getting used to the name already after only hearing about it twenty minutes ago... Although it may not fit the character. I don't really know Odoroki well, since I haven't played 4.

Since I don't really know much about the patent, or even where it was filed, I guess I'll just wait it out to see if it's Odoroki's english name or another Rival Schools game.
