"Oh. So it is sort of a police thing." he said, more interested in the story than searching. But apparently, Sandra wasn't very interested in either. "Deep in thought?" he asked, hopping up on the bed to start the conversation. "Or are you worried?"

"Just...reminiscing and reflecting," Sandra said. "Don't worry about it. Let's find some evidence. And yes, it is sort of a police thing. Um...Please get off the bed. For all you know, there could be another body part under that mattress."

"Ah, I see." said BM in an understanding tone. "Okay!" he said under his breath, eager to get into some real detective work. His mood was quickly downed by Sandra's observation of the bed. He jumped off the and landed on his knees on the ground. "I... think I get it now. Don't touch anything." He got up and moved to a small closet to investigate.

Sandra smiled at his reaction. Leave it to BM to lighten the mood. Hey, Mira, do you know what you found yet? Then, she heard a door opening and someone clonking up the stairs. The sound was getting louder. Thinking on her feet, she shoved BM into the small closet he was investigating and dove in herself. The footsteps were coming nearer, and the bedroom door opened.

While investigating, BM heard some footsteps. He paid them no mind, though. 'Mira.' he thought, and went on to digging through the closet. Sandra apparently had something different in mind, when she pushed him in the closet, crushed him, and shut the door. He almost screamed, but a small sweater to the mouth made that hard. In the meantime, he tried to sum up the situation in his mind.
'Okay, someone in the house, evil, out to get us probably. They know where we are, or at least had a good guess, and they may be armed. I'm in a closet with Sandra, hiding. Doing anything at all would probably get us both killed. Also Mira's deep in a hole. ...Great.'

"I'm still trying to figure it out." Mira yelled to Sandra, currently unaware of what was going on upstairs. "I can't remove my gloves, otherwise I'd damage the possible evidence." Mira said, as he continued to examine the object.

Shhhhh.... Sandra thought. I understand. Thank you. Sandra heard the footsteps come even closer. Whoever was out there was right outside the closet door. Her hair stood on end, and she closed her eyes, hoping the person wouldn't think anything of the closet door being closed. She heard him say something like, "Where is it?" first, then, "I can hear you. Come out of hiding." Sandra didn't want to come out yet.
"I'm not going to hurt you." Then, the closet door swung open.

In the silence, BM's heart began beating. He was over his 'sarcastic remarks' stage, and beginning his 'panicked breakdown' stage. He tried to hold his breath, so he wouldn't alert the now very close-by intruder. Sandra seemed to be feeling scared as well, but BM hardly took notice. Especially when the man was talking. 'Doesn't want to hurt us? Just like a shark doesn't want to eat a fish.' he thought, still trying to hold his breath. The closet door swung open, right in front of BM's face.

He let out a big cough and shuffled backwards, still not getting a good look at the man. He was rubbing right up against Sandra, and was at a loss for action. BM himself was unarmed, untrained and unfit. Basically, bottom of the food chain.

Mira's senses were tingling. He dropped the object he tripped over and ran upstairs. He pulled out his gun from his pocket, then looked into the room where he sensed something wrong. He saw the man open the closet door. He burst into the room, pointing his gun at the man. "FREEZE!" He demanded, keeping his aim on the man.

The man looked at Sandra. "Sandra? What are you doing here?" Sandra recognized the voice from somewhere. "I haven't seen you since we graduated law school together. ...You don't remember me, do you?" Sandra shook her head. "I'm Dan. Maybe this will help you remember." He held up his bronze badge and said, "With this badge and Sandra's brain, we shall rule the world."

Sandra remembered Dan when he said that. "Oh, yes. I'm investigating here? What about you?"
"Ironically, I'm investigating, too. To help my client. I'm Phoenix Wright's replacement. Now, do you mind getting that man to stop pointing his gun at me? I'm starting to get scared."

"Oh......" Mira put his gun back in his pocket. "My apologizes. So why is everyone in the closet?" Mira asked, referring to the location of his partners. "Is R. Kelly here or something?"

Seeing Mira burst into the room, gun brandished fearlessly in his hand, made BM feel much safer. 'Mah hero.' he thought, relaxing a bit but still remaining on alert. He fully relaxed when Sandra recognized him and didn't punch him out or scream. 'With this badge? Oh my god, are they calling Captain Planet?' He sighed at Mira and scooched along the wall, avoiding Dan, Mira and other general hazards.

'Looks like Dan has joined the party.' BM decided to stand next to Mira, out of the claustrophobia of the closet and into the fresh-ish air of the bedroom. "Uhh... Hey Dan. I'm... also investigating here." He extended a hand, smiling as fake as a wooden nickel.

"Oh, I'm sure they just thought I was a psycho killer who had a gun and was going to kill them. That's all," Dan said. "Really? You must be excited to be working with this man, Sandra. And this one, too. What are your names?" He shook BM's hand.
"These are Mira and BM. They are helping me solve this case. What were you looking for? A contradiction?"
"I was looking for...um...YOUR EYESIGHT! Ha, ha, ha."

"I dun get it." Mira said, pretending his earlier evaluations did not happen. "So anyways, we don't we take this time to compare our findings?" Mira asked. "It'll definitely help us verify our evidence."

"Okay. Looky at what I found found," Dan said, clearly enjoying this moment. He pulled out glasses. "They're not even broken. The victim wore these."
"Then that means she was wearing contact lenses."
"Oh. I never thought of that..." Dan was clearly disappointed.
"We found body parts."
"Oh. ...That must be rough. Randomly stumbling across dead bodies..."

"The weird thing is that the body parts from the last case came to us through the package delivery system. We found another part from the last case while investigating this one." Mira announced. "Also, I found something weird in the trap door, but I couldn't tell what it was."

Trying to seem as refined as possible, BM gave Dan a quick steady shake of the hand. "Psycho killer with a gun would actully be a pretty accurate definition." he said, emotionless. At least, outwardly emotionless. Until Dan tried to make a joke. BM thought about giving him a pointer or something, but this was hardly the time. "Don't quit your day job."

BM observed as the gang showed the evidence they'd gathered. He thought Sandra's powers of observation were surprisingly good, even for a detective. "So we got some glasses and some pieces of some people." He shuddered a little, "And a thing hidden underground. Anything else?"

"Something hidden in a trap door?! Let's check it out!" Dan exclaimed excitedly, ignoring BM's question. Sandra sighed. Typical Dan. Not hearing everything someone has to say.
"Did you find anything else?" she asked.
"Well, there was a contradiction..." Dan started to answer.
"You mean the one of the autopsy report and the picture not fitting together? Because Mira and I already figured that out."
"Oh. Well, this was no burglary attempt. If the man was leaving in a hurry, the furniture wouldn't all be tipped over as indicated in the picture."
"Yeah. Mira and I already found that ot. Any other pieces of evidence or contradictions?" Sandra asked.
"Let's check out that trap door!" Sandra gave an exasperated sigh as Dan eagerly ran down the stairs.

BM decided that he didn't have to act a sophisticate any longer. "Yeah, let's do this!" He failed to give a deep voiced line that time. His mental scloding was distracted with a 'new' finding. "Wait, you guys found a vital contradiction in the evidence and never told me?" Glaring at Sandra and Mira, he sighed. "Hmph. Fine." He turned and walked out the bedroom and downstairs, nose in the air and head shaking in disgust. Dan was already at the hole, about to enter when he got down there.

Sandra wished she would feel guilty for hiding that sort of thing from one of her own assistants, but she didn't. In fact, seeing BM stick his nose in the air and shaking his head was enough that she REALLY had to excersise self-control in order not to laugh as she made her way down the stairs.

Dan turned to BM. "Oh, you're excited, too. Thank goodness I'm not the only one," Dan said. "So, how long have you been working with Sandra?"

Looking down the deep, dark hole made BM feel a little queezy. "Excited, yeah." he replied, rubbing his stomach and staring down. "Working? Erm... A couple hours." he said sheepishly, "Not sure if I'm getting paid though." Out of habit, he scratched the back of his head.

Dan noticed BM rubbing his stomach. "Oh, I see. First case? You don't have to come down here if you don't want to," Dan said.
Sandra was in the room now, but decided not to say anything. She would simply wait for Dan to go through the trap door.

Mira went into the room. He looked around for the thing he tripped over earlier. "Anyone got a light? The light from above doesn't go down this far."

Dan pulled out a flash light. "I got it," he said. "Sandra, you should wait upstairs..."
"No way. I need to know what this is," Sandra said. "Wait...I hear something..."
"Like running water?"
"Y-yes, how did you know?" Sandra replied.
"Well, the pipes have been broken for a while. There's a leak down here."
"Hm...Mira, did you get wet at all during your investigation?"

That's what I was afraid of. That would explain why we didn't come across whatever you tripped over sooner, since you would have dropped it pretty close to where we are now. Close enough to see it with the flashlight at least.
"Dan, I think you should leave. Someone else is here, and you're the only one who can't fight.
"What's that? I can't hear you. I was too busy readying my gun," Dan said.
"But you lack the coordination to-"
"Don't worry about me. Worry about yourself."
Sandra knew there was something odd about what just happened when she talked to Dan, but she wouldn't mention that. ((Anyone can be the mystery person.))

Upstairs, BM was rather bored. He kept investigating, under a chair, in a drawer, the like, but it wasn't very interesting. He was hungry too, but he was trying to stay out of the kitchen. A few minutes after the other trio had entered the trapdoor, while investigating the bedroom again, BM heard rustling coming from a room on the main floor. He almost wrote it off as the gang come back, but realized that it was probably another guest. Glancing around the room, he found a brass lamp, unplugged it, and snuck downstairs.

The main room held nothing, neither did the office on the left or the storage space under the stairs. Gulping, he made his way for the kitchen. When he got close, he heard someone breathing in a pantry nearby. He inched over to the pantry, biting his lip and slowing his breathing. The handle held traces of blood, and when BM noticed, he had second thoughts. '[i]I think I should go get Sandra and Mira's opinion.[i]' he decided, walking over the main entrance.

Unfortunately for BM, he wasn't going to get the chance, because just then, the door creaked open and footsteps could be heard again. Clutching the lamp, he stood by the door and waited. The footsteps seemed to have gotten lost, shambling around the room and tripping over the odd chair. Taking another deep breath, BM snuck into the kitchen, face to face with a bloody mess of a man. BM screamed, the man jumped, and ran at BM. Heart rate steadily increasing, BM backed away. The man continued, shambling every which way. BM threw the lamp, landing a narrow blow to the stomach. The man fell, clutching his stomach, while BM hopped down the trap door, into the abyss below.

Sandra heard someone jump in and immediately whipped around. Then, she saw BM. Relief would've pulsed through her after realizing the person was BM, but she heard him scream earlier and knew he must've encountered the mystery person. Deciding to question him later, she signaled BM to get behind her as she walked toward the entrance. Mira, I think I'll need some back-up.

Dan pointed the flashlight and gun in BM's direction when he heard him enter. Realizing who it was, he sighed with relief. "Whoo. Don't scare me like that!" Then, he noticed Sandra creeping forward and signaling BM to get somewhere behind her. Oh, that Sandra. Always a drama queen, he thought.

"Understood." Mira came up to Sandra's side, following her to where she was going. He held his gun at the ready. His eyes wandered the room, looking for signs of movement from this stranger.

((I guess BM's the man they're going to encounter...)) Sandra became more and more afraid of what was going to happen, the silence making it worse with each step. She knew she had the advantage if the man went down the trap door where his vision was limited...Sandra kept creeping forward, hoping the man would come down instead of her and Mira having to climb up.

Dan just stood next to BM. "Are you okay?" he asked.

((Okay.))
After sorting out what was going on, BM shuffled behind the group. He whispered a soft "I'm alright." to Dan, still watching the trapdoor. He was a bit surprised that everyone had a gun. 'Is this place really that bad, or are they just paranoid?'

Upstairs, the man shambled around the kitchen. The blow to the stomach was rough, but he hardly noticed after the initial shock of being knocked over. Realizing he was alone in the kitchen, the man entered the main room. It didn't take him long to drop into the hole, scraping his knees and hands immensely. Still, he stood, the darkness overwhelming him.

Sandra heard the man come down. "Who are you and what are you doing here?!" she asked. "And don't bother attacking. We all have guns." Sandra was mostly speaking the truth, except she was unarmed save for a knife which she kept hidden.

When Sandra started to talk, Dan deduced someone must've come down. His first instinct was to shine the flashlight in her direction, but decided against it. Since Sandra didn't own a gun and lied about the fact that everyone had a gun, Dan shining a flashlight over there would've ruined their lie.

((Okay, nobody volunteered, so I'll just do it.))
"Who am I?! Who are you? And what are you doing in my house?" the man asked.
"Your house? This is the Delevara residence!" Sandra pointed out.
"Yeah, well she left this house to me," the man said, handing a piece of paper to Sandra. "Here's her will."
"Lemme look at that!" Dan said excitedly, reaching for the paper.
"Don't bother. It's forged. She was murdered, remember? There was no way she would have known she was going to die," Sandra said. "Here's what happened: Mira went down the trap door and found something. Then, he ran upstairs because he thought we were in danger. During that time, this man entered. He came down here and took the object. Then, so the neighbors wouldn't see him, he made way for the back door, but he ran into a problem. We were coming downstairs and BM came into the kitchen, which is where this man was because he had to go through there to get out the back door. So, he shoved whatever this thing was into a random place and chased after BM. And here we are. ...I was right, wasn't I?"
The man didn't respond. Instead, he grabbed Sandra and held a gun up to her head. "Put your guns down or I'll kill her!" the man screamed.
Don't worry, Mira. I'll be fine. This man clearly has no clue what he's doing. ((It's a long post, but hopefully it isn't too tedious of a read.))

Mira had his gun at the man's head right as he spoke the first syllable. No, I'm not passing this up. I haven't done this in a long time. "She dies, you die. What's your point? Something bad is going to happen to you in the end, so don't bother. You are in checkmate. Not only can I shoot the second you shoot, then the rest of the group will pummel you into the ground, along with myself. Pick wisely, for you may die in the end." Mira said, in an unusual voice. A voice of a killer, perhaps. "I suggest you drop your weapon and come peacefully."
