Ishiwatari Daisuke needs to drop whatever the fuck he is doing and give us GGX3 already.

It's all I'll say about that.

Millia's prehensile hair kicks ass, but Faust is so where it's at. May is okay too.

Also, Sol Badguy is the coolest name ever.

Ah, I was JUST about to make a thread for this game! Excellent.

Guilty Gear is one of my favorite video games of all time. The thing about it is, I can be awful at the game and enjoy every minute of it. Seriously, even when I win fights, I don't consider myself talented. My main character is Venom, and I almost always use Double Head Morbid and Dark Angel. I'm trying to get good at Red Hail, but I'm pretty bad at aerial attacks.

My second character is Zappa, just because he's so darn cute when he's not posessed. Honestly, he's really just a lovable Australian pansy that just randomly happens to be posessed by the chick from The Ring. XD I felt so bad for him at the end of his storyline. The one where it was like:

Spoiler:
Zappa: Oh my god! I'm alive! And it's all thanks to you, Faust! So what was wrong with me?
Faust: Well... To put it succinctly...
Zappa: Yes?
Faust: ...Your illness...
Zappa: Uh huh?!
Faust: ...Cannot be cured by modern medicine! ^-^
Zappa: O__O NANI?! x_x

I need to get his third ending sometime.
But seriously, for some reason I have a lot of patience with GGX2. I spent about an hour and a half working on Mission 17 (30 seconds of Eddie vs Zappa, where Eddie has 1 hp and Zappa's at full health), and I never got frustrated once. The only other mission I beat was the one with Venom vs Slayer, where Venom is poisoned and I think Slayer recovers his health. I was working on Venom vs Gold Millia, and I almost beat her on my first try, but then I started getting a blister on my hand and had to stop. XD

As for favorite characters, in order, they are Zato, Venom or Zappa (interchangable depending on how I feel that day), and Slayer. I'd go on a fangirl tangent now, but I don't think all of you feel like hearing it, so I'll keep my opinions short and sweet.

- I strongly think that Venom and Zato are lovers (or were until Millia killed Zato off).
- I strongly think that Zato has a nice butt.

Also, I feel like a geek for doing this, but I spent about $200 on this:
Image
Because I love Guilty Gear's music and didn't think it would be appropriate to just download it from the Internet.

My deviantart account (which is also DetectiveAnonymous) has a few of my nifty Guilty Gear drawings on it, in case anyone is interested.

Hells yea! A topic for my favorite game series! <3

I mainly use Sol, and Jam...along with the occasional Slayer and Baiken (though I'm not that good with those last two yet!). I'm working on learning how to play A.B.A effectively. :3

Oh yeah, in which game did ABA appear? Not that I'm entirely interested in playing her. She kind of freaks me out (she's the one with that freaky key, right?). It's just that I have GGX and GGX2 and as far as I know I can only unlock Justice and Robo-Ky, which I haven't done yet.

Was ABA in Guilty Gear Isuka maybe?

And does anyone think the DS GG game is worth buying? Because I haven't heard a lot of good things about it so far, but I want to know what you guys have to say about it. Chances are I'll get it anyway just because I'm such a fan. Heck, I might even get the one for PSP even though I don't have one. XD

ABA first showed up in Isuka.

And I don't think Zato and Venom were lovers, but Venom is DEFINITELY (and I mean canonically) gay for Zato.

Millia and Zato WERE lovers until Millia betrayed him.

And it's because of that that I don't like Millia.
Well that and because she's one of my brother's characters of choice, and he's amazing at Guilty Gear. x_x

So I was working on some more missions just now in GGX2. Sol vs Gold Justice is pretty darn tough, especially because you don't get your Tension bar. ...Also because I never play as Sol. XD I just really wanted to fight Justice.
I've realized though, Mission Mode isn't that hard (well some of them I've decided are near impossible), but my problem is that I can't focus well enough. x_x I think that's why I'm not very good at fighting games.
But GGear is just so cool! I love how nice the sprites look and how well-done the attack animations are. Plus it has some of the most interesting character designs.

Yes, she was in Isuka. Though Isuka had the terrible problem of pressing the shoulder button to turn direction while in a fight. :[

And Dust Strikers is not all that great, since it kinda emulates Isuka (except for the shoulder button pressing...THANK GOD). I got it anyway because I'm a huge fan of the series, so I collect the games.

Aah... Okay. Yeah I'll probably end up collecting the games too. I'm already doing that for Metroid (on an unrelated note, all I need is Super Metroid to complete my collection), but I suppose it couldn't hurt to do it for this series too. ^-^

So on a different subject, what characters do you guys think have the coolest themes? Personally, my favorite songs in the game are, in order:
Awe of She
Holy Orders
Midnight Carnival
Good Manners and Customs
and Bloodstained Lineage

Slayer's theme is starting to grow on me too. At first it was one of my least favorites, but now I think it's not half bad.

Millia/Zato does nothing for me, but Still In The Dark is arguably the best tune ever written by Ishiwatari/Seiyama.

There's something called "importing games".

As for favorite tracks...that's a really hard question! I really love every song. Though my favorite ones at the moment are Slayer's theme (Haven't You Got Eyes on Your Head?), A.B.A's theme (Hell's Gate), and Holy Order Sol's theme (Getting Down to Business).

If you have an XBOX, go buy GG X2 #Reload. It's the best version available in the U.S. If you only have a PS2, then try looking for a GG X2. Of course, your best bet will be if you look online. *nod*

And if you have more money and have a modded PS2, then just go get Accent Core. :D

If you were at the Great Canadian Baycon on sunday, you'll probably know what my answer to that is. And that's as thinly veiled as I'll say it.

Besides, I lost all interest in GG ever since Slash didn't make it over here.

The newest Guilty Gear - Accent Core - Just came out for PS2, and I think that it's pretty close to a "Guilty Gear X3", as there's so many changes to the gameplay and the individual characters that it's not much like GGX2 or any of its updates (#reload, Slash).

Dude, can you please SHUT IT about it not having an American release? You're kinda ruining the thread with that attitude! We get it, you don't like importing, and it doesn't have an American release yet. WE GET IT. So now please, PLEASE move on and talk about the game. Not about how you won't import it.

Anyway...

Yeah, I've heard from a friend that some of the characters play so much differently now.

Seriously, I thought it was already out in Japan so I assumed he was talking about an American release. Hence my disbelief.

I checked it out and it was indeed a newer Japanese release. Sorry 'bout that.

So, for those who got the game, how's about that Faust, huh? Item spam much?
