About two or three-ish years ago, before my freshmen year of college, an online friend of mine kept ranting and raving about how amazing awesome this Phoenix Wright game was.

A while before that, I had read in EGM about a really niche Japanese game about lawyers and court etc. At the time, they said the chances of it being released here were slim to none.

After remembering that, and being pressured, I finally ordered the game off play asia. The day I received it...yowza. I had never been one for adventure games, but this was so ridiculously fun, funny, and just well put together.

After that, I was hooked, and would spend long nights at college playing the game, laughing my ass off. Ironically, my friend never beat the first game, whereas I've imported all of them, and plan on purchasing the artbook and fanbooks when I move to Japan in September.

I also recently got my ex-girlfriend addicted to the series, and last weekend she went out, bought a DS, and all four games. XD

My mom took me to Wal-mart on my birthday. We were looking at DS games. She said we might find DS games that looked good for GB. I saw T&T, and said that looked cool. Five days later, I got a DS and T&T for Christmas. About a month later I got JFA, in April I found AA, and in May I got AJ.

I bought AJ on a friend's recommendation, because I figured I might be bored on a plane trip to Chicago. Got entirely hooked on the game while in Chicago (hotels are BORING :|), started surfing Japanese art sites and became a fangirl. After I found this site, I was eventually induced to buy AA: PW and Justice for All; however, still haven't found T&T. ;_;

I got into the games by CR actually. I heard of this game plenty of times and I've seen it. But I've only started getting interested when I ran into this site. :)

I was reading a review on IGN and I knew right away this is a game I wanted to get. Even though IGN gave it a low score, I knew I would like it because of the adventure game aspect of it. Then I read the Gamespot review so buying it was a no brainer.

I thought I posted here.

I decided that when I got my DS, I would try playing a different type of game and I kept seeing pictures of characters from the series, most notably pictures of Edgeworth, so I decided to try it out. I started with T&T first and I regret it, due to lack of knowledge of the previous games and while it took me a while to get into the game, I eventually became a fan of the series.

I think it's been.... more than a year now.

I had gotten my DS recently and I went to GameStop to go buy Trauma Center: Under the Knife. Once I bought the game the cashier said that if I liked these kind of games, then Phoenix Wright's good too. Later I started seeing pictures and hearing about it on DeviantART. Then I decided that I had to get it. I was about to go on a trip to visit my family in California and I stopped at another GameStop. They didn't have PW:AA but they had the sequel, Justice For All, which came out recently. So I settled for that.

....Needless to say most of my trip was spent playing that game nonstop. XD

It was about 9 months ago...

I got Trials and Tribulations for Christmas, however, due to an incident involving a nonexistent PSP, I had to give it back... :sadshoe:

In about May I bought it, and I liked it so much I bought PW:AA in June (and JFA later in August). By the time I finished PWAA and T&T in July, I was hooked.

I got the 1st PW game one birthday because I thought it would be fun and was looking for a present, I loved mystery/adventure type games, I'd never really played a lawyer game like this but the script was so good, well written and also funny! :D

I liked mystery/adventure games, and still do. I had seen an advert on TV for it, but wasn't really interested in it, and all I knew is that it involved lawyers. One day, on GameFAQs, someone linked me to the objection generator which made me get into it. I eventually got JFA, and I'm now hooked onto the invincible hook that is Ace Attorney.

ohohoho

back in 2005...
i had heard about some interesting games for DS. i was looking for them - they were trauma center and phoenix wright - because they seemed anime-themed and rather interesting. i got trauma center first, and eventually (a month or two later) found a copy of the original phoenix wright at an EB somewhere in the suburbs.

and i have loved them ever since

For me it started with this video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul0oaqMM2wc

I was curious what "phoenix Wrong" was, so i started looking. The first real Phoenix Wrong video i found was the Boot to the head one, followed by several others. This got me interested, but i still didn't know if it was a cartoon or what though. Finally i looked for videos about Phoenix Wright, and that's how i found out, and where it started. How i actually got hooked on the game though idk.

What'd i get myself into? :gumshoe:

It's all my brothers fault... blame HIM.

For months my brother raved about this new game he was playing, telling me about all of these cases and the trouble/success he was having and more. Of course, I half listened to it because I had no idea what he was talking about... but since he was having so much fun, I was curious and when he was finished with all of the games I asked if I could play them. He gave me his DS, Justice For All (he couldn't find Ace Attorney), and I sat there and played.

I loved it right away. I asked my brother every five seconds to help me, but I was still amused to no end. I had no idea who most of the characters were and what happened before, though. I was so confused when Edgeworth came back and stuff, because I was all like, "...wtf is an Edgeworth?" XD Funny how he's basically my favourite character now.

Phoenix Wright = New Obsession. And I wouldn't have it either way. :phoenix:

A good friend of mine had wanted to get me a game for Christmas...he saw a Phoenix Wright game at the game store, read the back of the box thing, and thought I would either love it or hate it. So he resolved to buy me something else, get a gift receipt, and tell me about it.

When he explained what it had said on the back of the box thing, I was fascinated. As soon as I could I got to the store and found it. Well, actually, I found T&T. I wasn't sure if I should get it or not once I saw it was rated T (as a Christian it's extremely important to me that I keep my mind pure). The employee working there came up behind me and he was like, "Phoenix Wright games, those are the best games ever. You'd love them. But they're very story oriented, so you'll want the first one. I think we have it used..."

Well, they did. XD It was the most fun I had ever had playing a video game. I couldn't believe it. It was AMAZING. By the end of 1-4 I was an Edgeworth fangirl, though at the time I had no idea there were other ones out there, that there was a whole community of AA fans out there. I ordered JFA off of Wal*Mart.com (the only place in the world I could find it) and bought T&T from the same store I bought AA (different employee, but he too commented on what great games they were).

I made myself wait until after I finished all three games (I still don't consider AJ to be of the same series) to watch many YouTube videos related to GS, once one of them had spoiled Matt Engarde's secret for me. I finished T&T about two months ago, and a lot of comments on YouTube led me to Court-Records. So, here I am, almost a year later, and happy as can be! :edgy:

I saw it on the shelves of Gamestop, and it looked interesting. This was probably either JFA or AA. So, at one time, I picked it up and read that back. A game about lawyers? Pshaw, that's no fun. I put it back down and didn't mind it.
Until the day after last Christmas, I was at Best Buy, with just short a few dollars of buying Pokemon Emerald and Fire Emblem for the Wii.
I thought, 'hey. I really, really want this Pokemon Emerald, but I can't afford BOTH.' So, I scoured the DS shelves awhile, and I saw "That lawyer game" again. T&T this time. And if weren't for Godot on the cover, I doubt I would've picked it up, against my better judgement.

That supposedly bad judgement led to one of my favorite fandoms ever!
It wasn't until a week or two later that I googled Phoenix Wright to find Court-Records I learned it was a series, and went out to buy AA, ordered JFA online since I couldn't find it, and got AJ as soon as it came out.

I'm pretty sure AA > Fire Emblem. :godot:

Hmm. My boyfriend brought his DS when he came up from Manchester to visit. One of the games he had was Phoenix Wright. I had never really played a DS before, outside of playing Super Mario Bros when I could steal it from my cousins at Christmas. So, I asked what the game was, and he was just "Oh, it's some lawyer game... It's alright." I turned on the game, and was generally hooked on it right from the get go. My boyfriend hadn't played it too much, it seemed, since he enjoyed it when we played it together.

So yeah, thanks to my boyfriend's ex, wherever she is, for giving him Phoenix Wright as a gift! xD If it wasn't for that, I would never have found the awesome that is PW. :p

When my cousin first bought her DS, I was fascinated with it. That night, she sent me an advertisement of the DS, which happened to be the GS trailer... Mitsurugi and the pink GBA, not to mention Naruhodou and Itonokogiri, won me over at once. I swore to get my hands on the game.

After I bought my own DS, I simply couldn't seem to save enough money to buy the game. Until I went on a tour with my choir for competition, and mom gave me quite a lot to spend. On the way back, we stopped at Helsinki Airport, and THEY WERE SELLING PW THERE~ So I bought it. Needless to say, I spent most of the time on the airplane happily playing. XD

I'm not wanting to get into a big argument here, but I will state my beliefs. Those innuendos annoyed the heck out of me (not to mention Hotti creeped me out XD). But if I was completely limiting myself to only playing/watching/reading media that had no less-than-holy subject matter or language in it, it would be darn near impossible. The Ace Attorney series is actually pretty clean, in comparison to a lot of things. It's just stuff that's constantly throwing inappropriate-ness at you that I try to avoid the most. It desensitizes (I'm sorry I stink at spelling) you to it and you eventually think it's more normal.

And I tried it, and yes, now I'm a biiiiiiiiig fan of Gumshoe. ^-^ And GS ofcourse. n_n

Long ago, there was this fob japanese girl I use to home tutor..
Every break, she would pull out her gameboy and play gyakuten saiban.
(Of course, I didn't know what it was back then, neither did I care..)

Years later, I got myself a DS out of boredom,
and Phoenix Wright looked sooo~ familiar, I had to play it.

I saw a bunch of fanarts (right about the time that Apollo Justice came out) and I wanted to see what the game was about. I read a bit about it and decided to buy it over my spring break. The cashier at Gamestop told me it was a really good game. After I played the first game I wanted to play all the other games. I got my sister into the series (but I was disappointed that she wasn't as obsessed with the game as I was) and then the rest of my friends. After I played the second and third games, I saw a few people link to court-records and I looked over it a bit. I didn't come to the forums until after I played Apollo Justice....That's all!

Let's see. Okay...so I had just gotten a DS for some occasion, I can't remember. Anyways, my stepdad got me a few games to start me off--Animal Crossing, Trauma Center, Cake Mania (...yeah), Nintendogs, and PW (because it had "gotten a couple of good reviews"--I was skeptical) a few weeks later. I played like a few minutes of the first case and decided to leave it unto later.

Fast forward until sometime near the end of that school year. I was really bored, and lo and behold, I discovered a forgotten game lying in a corner of my room! I played it.
Finished it soon later. Begged my parents to get me the next one. They got me T&T and then some time afterwards JFA. A bit later, I die in ecstasy after hearing that a new game has come out recently. I drag my dad to the store. End of story.

Now...well, you know the rest ^^

I got a DS last summer, and at the time I had an unhealthy obsession for Trauma Center. I heard all this 'Objection' stuff on the internet, and I knew what Phoenix Wright was, but I didn't really know much about it except for it had to do with attorney stuff.

Me and my friend got more into it, and then one day I finally bought it, and I couldn't put the game down all day. :edgy:

A friend of mine told me about the series ages ago. I told her it sounded cool and that I'd have to get it one day and play it -- I've always been into mysteries and such.

Flashforward to about...oh, a month and a half ago, maybe. Two months. I meet my suitemate. I've forgotten all about Phoenix Wright, until I see her bring in the games she owns. All four -- AA, JFA, T&T, and AJ. I go wide-eyed and tell her about how awesome I heard it was.

She agreed to lend me the first game, and did so. I didn't play until at least two weeks later, and got COMPLETELY and utterly hooked.

Ironically, Mia was like, my favorite character at the end of the first case.

...yeah. My friends laaauggghed when I told them this, before I went on to 1-2.

I'm a big fan of a german Gaming channel called "GIGA".
And they have different areas like PC, DS/PSP,...
And one day the host was playing PW: TaT, the case where you play Mia. And immediately I fell in love with this game! :larry2:
But when I first played PW AA I was kinda confused, because of Mia and the case 1-2... But now I understand :will:
