When you first knew that Phoenix Wright became a hobo after all he went through, learned, and experienced those three years, what were your first thoughts?

I felt sorry for him. He was so determined to become a lawyer in 3-1 then he had his badge taken away. He must have cried then. "A lawyer can't cry till it's all over"

I was really pissed off at first but after playing AJ I was ok with it because he was quite funny and still sort of the same Nick. I liked it when he would randomly wind up Apollo. Especially about the magic panties :redd:

And yeah I bet he had a good cry when he lost his badge :sob:

I threw my DS after I learned he was disbarred. I literally threw it at my wall. And I had to buy a new one. It sucked. (Now you know my stance on Apollo...)

I didn't care what he was, as long as he was alive and in the game. And I figured there had to be some kind of interesting story behind his hobo-ness.

"Wow, he's hot." XDDD;

But when I found out how he became a hobo, I almost cried. I felt so bad with what he had to go through. :sob:

Pretty pissed off, to say the least. Espeically after that incredable ending he had in 3-5, and after what Mia told him, that he was on par with her as an attorney. Then we find out barely two months later he lost everything. It's like saying Mia was wrong and that Phoenix can't do shit without her help.

I don't know what thought was going through the writer's mind at that moment. They couldn't give him a few years or so to be a lawyer? Why immedately after 3-5?

I swear, playing the flashback trial in 4-4 was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, it was like signing Phoenix's death warrant. :sadshoe:

If this was the writer's way of getting the older fans into the new series, I can offically say mission freakin failed. >_>

The problem for me wasn't that he lost his badge and stuff. It was his personality. He was to "cool" Phoenix isn't suppose to be that sorts of "cool". I would have rather seen him like when you loose the case i 2-4

when I found out, I had only played the first game and spoiled myself silly on the other three.
I don't really remember what my reaction was, but it was something like "what the... how the... what the... WHAT?!" XD I wasn't really angry at Capcom, I guess I wasn't as attached to Nick as I am now, it just really confused me how he could go from being an awesome lawyer-guy who constantly saves his friends to a cool, grown-up hobo-ish guy.

Then I actually played AJ and ... I still can't make up my mind about it :/ on one hand, it's seriously sad to know that he just had the most epic court case in the world and then the next case gets him fired... It's really really sad. but on the other hand... I can't feel bad. If he hadn't been fired, he wouldn't have adopted Trucy, and if he hadn't adopted her... He just seems so happy with her. He looks so happy and grown up that I just can't feel bad even though he's been fired and now plays poker for a living. I just can't.

I wrote too much XD

I heard of 'Hobohodo' before I got to the fourth game, and when I did see him and heard what had happened, I felt this odd sensation of despair and uselessness.
"Was everything we've done been for nothing...?" I mumbled.

-drama-

And oh gawd. When we had to play though the case that damned him... "Dead man walking," I kept saying, "Don't do it. It's a freaking trap..." I even tried every piece of evidence that wasn't the ripped out page of the book; I couldn't do anything at all to... Aa... (I feel sad recalling it now.)

That was the climax of my sadness that he had fallen from grace.

Lucky Phoenix had Lost His Luck Right then and There.

I thought something like : "WTF? CAPCOM DESTROYED HIS CHARACTER" But Hobohodo grew on me during the game. He is one of my favorite characters in the whole series now.

I didn't respond at all. Probably because I hadn't even finished the first game at the time.

Same here. Not the same words but close enough that no one cares. Although I had finished the first 3 games, and I kinda knew it was coming... but I still fail to understand why I didn't really respond to the change.

When I first saw him, I really didn't recognize him at all. He looked like a completely different person. When I first started playing the game, my reaction was "The hell happen to you?...". There was a feeling of bitterness and cold shoulder. After the fourth case, I felt sorry for him of what he's been through and the sudden job of being a father while working at a shady bar followed by his revenge against Kristoph using a system he created using people. Lastly, yeah he is quite sexy while doing it everything.

They had to have him in, because stupid Capcom ordered them to. The GS team wanted to move on, so they got moody and gave him a personality.

Yeah, I know. It's sad, really.

I wish they could just replace Nick, the judge, Payne, Hotti, Gumshoe and Meekins with new characters instead. Especially Nick. I'm fine with Ema reappearing because I've heard that one of the reasons they made case 1-5 was to give her a backstory in GS4.

Ah well, it's too late to change that now, I guess...

:hobohodo: Thought he looked kinda hot,

but that didn't overweigh the fact that he was layed off from being a lawyer... That hurt so bad D:. He's lost his personality and basically just died as the Nick that we use to know. Now he's sarcastic and vague which he was the exact opposite for the first 3 games.

At first I couldn't believe what he had turned out to be. I thought "Great. So I played the last 3 games for nothing????"

But HoboHodo grew on me. I grew to appreciate his wisdom and I was glad that you could clearly see that he had matured.

I felt so sorry for him during 4-4. The whole reason I managed to get through that case was because of him and I felt like I was able to restore his honor and pride when finally revealing that he didn't forge evidence.

I actually thought it was a pretty damn attractive sprite

But that aside, I played AJ first, due to getting it for Christmas. But I'd already got the 'ohmygodphoenixwright' from my friends.

So, when I played it an he was introduced as 'Mr Wright', I just about died. Bear in mind I didn't know that Nick had a habit of being in the defendant's chair...

Which is why my love for Hobohodo burns with the red hot intensity of a thousand suns :hobolaugh: [/Fairly Odd Quoting]

I don't mind who he is at all, but I hate how it happened. And the fact that the flashback case had those half-assed ways to prevent the obvious ways out of it. "Klavier: Don't even think of presenting the diary I just showed you." "Nick: If I had an explanation, would the court hear it? Judge: Probably not."

My first thoughts were one thing, but in "Seven Years Ago" (the flashback case) I suddenly took a liking to depressing music. It was also one of the few times I was emotional in any game. When the Judge said,
:udgy: You have just presented forged evidence to this court. MY court.
I went from :phoenix: to :zenitora:
And then I just :larry: ed.

This is probably why people are always hoping for a [insert any kind of casemaker here] game where PW retakes and passes the bar exam.

Frankly speaking, I already have a feeling that if he were to appear in this game, he'll get a makeover, since all of his storyline has been cleared up by the 3rd game and there's no way to advance his story anymore.

I hate the way he loses his badge. I mean, he'll faced off some of the best prosecutors in Japan, and he lose his badge to a newbie by committing one of the most basic mistakes of his profession (presenting fake evidence). I just hope he goes out a more epic way....

but I really love how after that incident he took control over everything though, from getting accused of murder to being the one that points out the real murderer, stringing all the events together and such, all the while being humble about his past achievements when the past characters (the Judge, Ema etc) brings up their history with him. These screams out 'coolness' to me.

Butthurt. Butthurt to the max. Also, "Where the hell is Edgeworth?" ;n;
But as I played it more I realized Hobohodou is pretty adorable...some of the facial expressions he makes are too cute :B
