((He's acting weird, that's all)).

"Hey." A voice said. "Hey!" The voice was trying to get Martha's attention. It sounded like it was coming from the mirrors. "Hurry up! I wanna talk to you!"

"Ugh..." Martha said feebly, not sure if she was hallucinating. Nevertheless, she washed up and looked around, as if expecting to see someone. "Who are you?" she asked feebly.

Martha's reflection in the mirror moved in a different way than she did. It used its thumbs to point it itself instead of looking around, as the real Martha was doing. "Right here!" It said.

"W-wh-What's going on?! I can't seriously..." Martha sputtered. "This can't be happening! I mean..." She stopped, and started calculating again. This reflection...Her reflection...Why did it move a different way? Maybe she was going crazy? In any case, yelling wouldn't get her anywhere.
"Um...You...Are my reflection..." she started. "Um...why are you here? Er...I mean, why now?"

"Don't worry about it now." The reflection replied. "You should go talk to Al. He seems pretty upset." It told Martha. "He might have info that might make his case easier to deal with. Since he's sad, it should be easier for you to talk to him. By the way, you might want to take some aspirin before the recess ends."

((And you're doing an awesome job!))
"Um...Thank you...er...Me," Martha said casually as she reached into her purse and took some aspirin. "It didn't help much, but she was at least able to stand for a while. Psychosis. Another thing to tell the doctor...Focus! You need to talk to Al. Remember?

Martha left the bathroom and looked for Al, the room spinning the whole time. She was not sure which way to go and all she could think of was moving forward until she bumped into something and fell.
"Al?" she asked hopefully.

((Thanks)).

There was no answer. The thing that Martha bumped into felt too solid to be a door or a person.... Or any other loose object that might be bumped over during the collision with her and the object in question.

What on earth did I crash into? The wall?! She tried to get back up, but she found it to be extremely difficult since she felt so weak, and once she did get up, she felt dizzy all over again. This time, instead of the room spinning, her vision became very blurry.
"AL!!!" she screamed as loud as she could, but it came out as barely more than a whisper. She felt the object in front of her, trying to feel her way along it and maybe use it as support. Suddenly, she couldn't see anything. She collapsed.

((I actually kind of based this part off of a couple experiences I had with dizziness.))

((Interesting)).

5 minutes passed (2 minutes being when the court called everyone back to continue the trial) and a cop found Martha collapsed on the floor. "I found the defense attorney!" He yelled. "She's unconscious....." He checked her vitals. "She's fine, but send her to a hospital anyway!" He yelled to the other cops, as well as court staff. Two cops pulled out a stretcher and rolled Martha onto it, helping her unconscious body into a police car, and drove her over to the hospital, where doctors and nurses put her on a hospital bed.

"Ugh," Martha groaned. "Where am I?" She saw a bunch of people with masks in front of her with a bright light at their backs. "Where's Al? I need to talk to him. Please..."
She coughed violently.

((You know what, I'll consider that. In the mean time, he doesn't have to do anything special to get on the show)).

"You are in no condition to bother about the case, Ms.Fey." One of the doctors told Martha.
--------------------------------
"Ladies and gentlemen," the bailiff began, "the defense attorney has fallen ill during the trial. We need a new defense attorney to continue the case. If we can't find one, we'll suspend the case until Ms. Fey feels better."

"B-but he needs me!" Martha insisted. "And I need to see this through until the end." Her voice was awfully soft and she was unable to think about anything else but the case, since she couldn't have a coherent thought that wasn't about it.

"I don't think he would need you while you are in your current state." Another doctor told Martha. "The court is already looking for someone to replace you. If you cannot be replace the trial will be suspended."

'What a shame.' Lucias thought, once Martha's fate had been announced. 'I guess she won't be able to make that coffee-date after all.'

He was now relaxing in the lounge again, awaiting the call: if the case goes on, or if it is suspended.

"We repeat, if there are any defense attorneys in the audience, please come up to take Ms. Fey's place." The bailiff said, 5 minutes later. "If we get too many attorneys, we might have to do things randomly."

Zeth glanced up in surprise, not knowing what was going on. Martha only went out for a short break... a recess, right?

"What's going on? Is the DA ok?" Zeth asked, leaping to his feet in shock. Dashing to the hand rail around the stage area (I don't know the layout of this court room btw), Zeth leaned over sightly with wide eyes, "She looked pretty worn out before recess- has she collapsed or something?"

What the heck is going on? Is someone drugging the water? Or is there something strange going on behind the scene. Glancing over to Don, Zeth narrowed his eyes He's so suspicious... I wonder if he's got something to do with Al needing a new lawyer so suddenly...

"Yes." The bailiff told Zeth. "She collapsed a few feet outside the bathroom. We sent her to a nearby hospital."

Don was smiling in the direction of the stage until he felt someone's gaze on him. He dropped his smile and turned his head to see who was looking at him. He was startled by Zeth's narrowed eyes. Crap! Does he know something?! I need to do something about this! But what? Don thought, as Zeth looked at him.

"I am a practising lawyer, sir," Zeth replied sternly, pushing his glasses back up his nose, "I could take over Ms Fey's position of Defence Attorney."

Noticing Don suddenly spot his glance, and his guilty expression, Zeth raised a brow in interest, adopting a slight smirk.

Actually, as interesting as giving Al a Not Guilty verdict would be, it might also be interesting to see what really happened back stage. He is definitely up to something from that expression.

((OK- that's me for today in RPing. I don't mind if he's a lawyer or not. If he isn't a lawyer for this, he'll sneak in back stage and investigate what is going on there instead. Ah... the convenience of being a detective and a lawyer. Anyone else wanna give it a go also?))

"Do you understand what the court has learned about the case so far?" The bailiff asked Zeth.

Martha's head was swimming. What would happen to Al? In her mind, she failed. As an attorney and as a friend. Friend...How ironic. He probably doesn't see me as such. My...head.
"So, doc...What's wrong with me?" Martha asked. "What caused all this?" Her voice was still soft, her face still pail, but something seemed a little different. She seemed as if she was on the verge of tears...

"Yeah, I believe I pretty much have it summed up," Zeth shrugged, tapping his upper arm with a pen, "We have a case with jack all proven evidence, and a bunch of possibly baloney testimonies. I think I can kick a few things around though and save this case from the trash can though." Glancing aside to think for a moment, Zeth moved his pen to his bottom lip, tapping it thoughtfully, "I'll put myself up for acting defence attorney, but only if my client wishes me to." Slamming his fist on the rail, Zeth's eyes suddenly turned cold, "I REFUSE to defend a man that doesn't put his full faith in me. If he accepts me as his new Lawyer, I will require a short recess to chat with my client personally. I assume that this is all standard procedure, and thus ok with his Honour?"

"Well we should inform the defendant about the current situation." The bailiff told Zeth. "Go talk to him and let us know if he accepts you as his attorney. We might have to wait even longer if you are rejected."

"This is one warped case!" Dolly thought to herself. "What happened to that other attorney?" She looked around wondering if there would be the slightest chance that she missed her but to no avail, she stood up just about to leave but court was about to reconvene so she decided to sit it out at least until the next recess.

"Why haven't you answered me yet?" Martha asked impatiently.
"We haven't gotten the results back yet, Miss. Please be patient," a nurse said. "But right now we're thinking poison. Do you have any enemies?"
"Ha! So one of Don's men poisoned me. But how? All I drank is water. Perhaps it dissolves. In any case, I wasn't doing a great job as an attorney. In fact, I don't think I even made a dent in the prosecution's case. What he doesn't realize is that I am an even bigger threat now than I ever was as Al's lawyer. Now that I can be a witness," Martha said.
"Miss, what are you talking about?" the nurse asked. Martha tried to stand up, but instantly she felt dizzy and felt a burning pain in her chest, so she lied back down.
"After you've healed me, of course," she replied, ignoring the question.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mate," Zeth grinned sarcastically, giving the bailiff a salute as he opened the gate to inside the 'court room'. Brushing the creases out of his dark blue shirt, he followed the bailiff to back stage, and to where Al was kept. Glancing around the place, Zeth kept an alert eye out for ANYTHING unusual. Stopping by the door, Zeth grabbed the bailiff's hand before he touched the door.

"WAIT," Zeth stated firmly, placing himself between the bailiff and the door. "Noone has entered this room besides my possible client, and his previous lawyer today, right? Or do more people use this room than that? Is this the room Martha was injured in?"

"The defense attorney was injured in the hallway." The bailiff pointed out. "And before the trial, the prosecutor entered the defense lobby to speak with the defendant before the trial. The defense attorney also spoke to the defendant before the trial, as she prepared her case."
---------------------
"Speaking of healing, did you have any unusual symptoms before you collapsed?" One doctor asked Martha.
