Considering I pay more than twice that amount for a single tarantula spiderling (and have done so multiple times now, up to 15!)..... will definitely be getting it. Plus you know, english translation and all that jazz

Personally, I vote we take the archive down when Capcom 'announces' the book. Until then, the book doesn't officially exist. The scans still a barrier for preorders, so there's always that technically.

That is a very good point. I hope you guys give everyone some time after that does happen to save the files and such.

I might see how the exchange rate goes... Australia use to be about 1:1 with us, but now its 80c to a dollar... It'll cost me about $90 to buy it from Australia >.> Oh well... could call it an Xmas gift to myself? ^^; Lol Still cheaper than importing it from America. I hope they don't cut out any of the cool stuff like they normally do :edgeworth: Zone 4 is REALLY bad for having all the bells and whistles removed. America got Full Metal Alchemist with shiny covers and stickers. Zone 4 released it with matt covers and no stickers. I feel no loyaly for buying local product- specially when It's so expensive T.T

Very cool! :phoenix: Tomorrow I'm supposed to go shopping for stuff for a trip to Florida, so maybe I can stop at Borders and inquire about it. Or, if I stop being lazy, I can charge my phone and call them up.

Or, worst-case scenario...I can just wait for October because Borders probably considers themselves too good for Phoenix Wright, as evidenced by my trying to preorder The Miles Edgeworth Files and getting turned down when there was a preorder button RIGHT ON THE SCREEN. Hey, it's worth a shot though.

*on the other hand...wants a local Barnes and Noble*

I have the japanese book and the amount of text is really small, I think I will pass on this book. But if I have some extra money, I will buy it to support the series in the States.

I saved all the pages of the book as hosted on CR. I can put them in a zip file if anyone is interested.

I'll support anything Ace Attorney here if it means more stuff will be brought over from Japan. I hope that they bring over the fanbooks next. They are more text heavy and I think have those funny interviews with Maya. I've always wanted to know what those say.

I really want to get those fanbooks. And also, I'd like the sketches of the Rise from the Ashes case found in the manual too. I actually kind of almost want that more than the actual artbook...

Well yes. But Del Ray is a manga publisher, Udon seems to be a Artbook publisher.

Pre-ordered from Borders today. Seriously, $40 is a large lot. I preordered one other book as well, but it has nothing to do with AA and therefore I will not mention it.

Ah... I have no idea about publishers and the stuff, so that seems to make sense. What else did Udon publish from Ace Attorney, because I don't think any other art books were published for it... (In North America, that is) :payne:

From the looks of it, Udon hasn't published anything from AA. They mostly publish Street Fighter books and other Capcom books.

anyone complaining about the price = lol

the book is HUGE, and in the japanese set it's two separate books in an illustrated box, as a matter of fact. $40 is cheap for an artbook of that size.

Seconded.

The Japanese price of the books is...*checks the sleeve*...3800 yen. That comes out to around $40 american, pretty much even.

I just hope they don't gyp us on stuff like the director interviews and character quotes. Canon translations of those would be sweet. I don't like scribbling in the margins...

You're talking about the Art of GS, right? I will agree with you, although they do have a very small "Character Memo" at the corner of every page, and a single quote from the character. I shouldn't have said "interviews," most of that is in the fanbooks and guidebooks. Not much to translate, but it would be kind of interesting to read in officially translated English.

All of you who are saying this is not too expensive, just how much money do you have? $48 is more than I paid for any of the games, and I really don't want this book enough to pay that much.

I kind of see these items as investment, but maybe not in the way other people would see. I buy items like this and the mangas to show support for the series here. I hope that by doing that (and with the help of others who do that as well) it will encourage Capcom to translate more items and bring them over here (like the fanbooks and game guides).

People complain that the west doesn't' get any GS/AA merchandise, but then they complain about the prices when we do get the merchandise over here. I guess it's just a vicious circle.

That would be lovely. I'm going to buy the US release of the artbook, both because I want it (and hadn't gotten around to importing the JP version), and because I want to encourage Capcom to put out more tie-in merchandise over here. But clean digital copies are really nice to have even once I have it hard-copy.

And not having to click one-by-one = also good.

I bought the Japanese version from Nikaku Animart on ebay (came out to be about $48), but I'll be very pleased to have it in English. The Okami artbook from Udon is VERY nice, so if the Art of Ace Attorney is as good, that'll be $30 well spent (if ordered from Amazon).

Looks like Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne will have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks... oh well ^_^
