Hi everyone, I'm new to PWLib and I've made a few small cases and understood what I'm doing for the most part, but one thing I'm struggling to understand is the case select feature. I can load it up, and I understand for the most part what the pw_caseselect file is doing with the example, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to include custom background art for finished cases. Can anyone give me a hand here? It would be much appreciated, thanks :phoenix:

EDIT: Also, on the KSA Site it says that every character from GS1-4 is available for PWLib, yet when I downloaded the core package and the GFX 2.0, most of the characters are missing, such as Dhalia Hawthorne, yet all the profile pictures are there. Have they not been released yet? Or is there somewhere I can find them I just haven't seen yet.

Thanks again :phoenix:

@Brother_Rhogar

The chars were made and released recently on the past posts of this topic. I didn't edit the core and gfx packages of 1.1 because 1.2 is close to release.

Rge case selection bg gfx must be named as caseXbg.png, so when the case's done, you'll see that bg appearing.

Very nice, the save and load is very useful.

I´ll help you in the Beta Game. So we talk later about that.

I was going to suggest this sooner or later, don't know why.

Also, does PWLib have the super advance arrow for when you've already been in that scene? The one for which you hold the advance arrow, or the B button.

The "hold to auto advance" isn't done, yet.

The "already read = possible to advance quickly" is added on aige, just not saved over sessions yet. I'll work on it later.

Thanks for the help KSA.
I have another question though- after searching back a few pages, I found all the new sprites, and I went to the Taco turnabout thread and found a few more sprites, but I'm still missing:
* Dee Vasquez
* Lamiroir
* Richard Wellington
* Shelly De Killer
* Wendy Oldbag
* Wendy Oldbag (alien costume)
Is it possible to get a direct link from someone rather than searching back through the other 70-odd pages for them? Thanks :redd:

i'm not sure if it was asked already or not, but will it be possible in the future/is it possible already to use keyboard/gamepad in the same way the gba/dswright games do?

also about that disclaimer thing at the start if it's still there in 1.2, could it be set to only appear once, then never again (like, with the save system you're coding or something)? it's kind of annoying to have it pop up every single time i start.

All GS1-4 evidences are on the PW/evidence folder.

I copied directly from CR, so if some is missing, let me know.

Namebox have 2 options, the GFX based and the text based (the text-based is ugly because no good font is available).

To make the custom gfx version, take the namebox gfx, make a copy of it and edit it.
When setting the namebox, simply change the GFX to it:

Suppose you loaded the new namebox texture as 19003.

[pw_setnameboxto<yourcharname>]
recfunctionname([pw_nameboxfunc]);
setmsgboxtickersound("sfx-blipmale.wav");
setgenobjgraphic("pwnamebox",19003); << change here
setgenobjtexturecoordinates("pwnamebox",149,0,50,14); << define the one you want to use.
showgenobj("pwnamebox");

Image files (.bmp, .jpg, .png, etc) are turned into textures when they are loaded by PWLib.

You use loadtexture to load an image file to a texture. It's just naming.

I hate to do 3x posting, but I need to post this information:

The PWLib beta will first ship with a Quick Save/Load System.

I'm going to start working on the beta game tomorrow, so anyone who wants to help, let me know.
I hope to finish the beta game as soon as possible so I can put the beta out.

The New Secret Feature will be posted when the beta begins. Some people very close to the project know what it is already.

I normally talk about new PWLib stuff on MSN (with people who show high interest on PWLib, of course).

There are things I delay to post here since I dislike a lot having to read stuff like "I had that idea to" or "I will implement it as well" in the same way that happened with AIGE's Message Base when I did talk about it here.

Hey guys, another quick question. What's the proper font to use for the button graphics? i.e question options, locations to move to, menu options, etc.
The closest I've found so far is Calibri, but it's not quite right imo.

Cheers everyone :phoenix:

Hi people! I am new at the whole PWLib Case Maker, and despite having read the Tutorial 00 of Nutshell and tinkering, I can't get AIGE to even give me a blank screen!

The error message is:

Could someone please help me? :sadshoe:

Just out the file you write the code on the "auto" folder.

No progress yet, but I'm considering into just making a feature display (random scenes shpowing the features) due to little free time i have now due to university.

Mostly certainly I'll will drop the beta game, for now, and maybe release the beta game during the beta phase. This will allow people to test PWLib 1.2 earlier.
