Most annoying/hated character?

While I didn't hate anyone, there were two people who bothered me a little. The first is Martin Summers. Even in the end, I couldn't forgive him for what he did. I felt absolutely no connection with him. I even felt sorry for Jeff even though he was such a brat. The thing about Jeff is that he's still immature and still a child so even though his mistakes were stupid, I didn't mind his character.

The second character that bothered me was Mila. I thought she was too much of the classic mysterious girl. There was nothing new in her, in a sense. The whole

I'd have to say Jeff. They pretty much revealed everything about him too early on and then he doesn't pop up at all until the final goodbyes. Just seemed a bit pointless. That, and he was so damn whiney.

I hated Melissa at the beginning. I loved her at the end of ... I dunno, chapter 3. Summer is very annoying, but that's what's so fun about him - he's this game's Oldbag. He trolled us all until the very end. Yup, that's right. The other characters' comments about him are hilarious, too - especially Hyde's.

I'd still say Jeff. I got many Game Overs thanks to him, and I hate whiners like that. His backstory didn't have much to do with the game's plot either.

Every character I hated at one point I could empathize with by the end of the game, which is one of the great points of Hotel dusk; it's exploration of every character's motives (though that could also be considered a negative, since it serves as a dragnet for the main plot).
I still think that Summers is a selfish bastard, but at least he's repenting.

Two whiny, selfish brats. Match made in heaven if you forget about the pedophilia thing.

Also, Louis was an idiot until he got a surprising amount of character development when the bar opened.

In response to all the Summer hate, I like him. I find his story rather interesting, though I admit he's a greedy dickhead for what he did.

I might be alone in hating Racheal. She irked me a lot. I was like: "OK, let's go find some stuff out!" and then Racheal calls, says something useless and spends five minutes doing it. Anyone notice she once called to tell you nothing? *Can't remember exactly when*
I would pray it wasn't Racheal when I answered the phone. Pray.

Iris really got on my nerves with her whole "Ooh, I'm the princess, if everything doesn't go my way I'll complain about it!" attitude, so I didn't even care whenever she tried flirting with Kyle.

Jeff was quite obnoxious too, but I warmed up to him by the end. In fact, I liked all the characters pretty well by the end of the game, as others have said.

Martin Summer. Yeesh that guy was annoying! He talked for like 20 minutes about that stupid package to Kyle when all they had to do was switch packages! I was like, "Good Lord, shut up and just give him the dang package!!!" But I have to admit, if he wasn't in the game, we'd have missed out on all the funny stuff Kyle had to say about him.

Iris at first set of HECKNO bells for me at first, I totaaally had her penned wrong so er, I did not mind being rude to her while I felt bad for being a jerk to a little girl. I thought she would be some sleezy reporter, but I really liked her by the time we actually got to know her.

Having finished the game, Summer is my least favorite, didn't hate him but I wasn't that fond of him. Oh, wait! I can totally hate on Mila's dad and Jeff's dad, they both seemed like sleezeballs. Grace had reason if she did the wrong thing, Robert on the other hand stared into the heart of darkness then decided to elope with it >>

Definetly Martin, but there was one line with him in the whole game the made me laugh. The bit where he's in the bathroom.

Martin: M-Mr HYDE! Have you no decency? I'm in the Bathroom!!

And I didnt like Louis at the beginning. I loved him by the end though. He really steped up to the bar.

I think you're reading into it wrong. I couldn't see any relationship forming out of it. Not any romantic ones anyway. She's 19, he's like what, 33? I would see him more as a fatherly figure, although he would be reluctant to admit it himself.

Obviously Jeff takes the cake and eats it for the most annoying character, just because the fact that he has the nerve to stand at his doorway while you don't notice him and walk into room 217 at the beginning of Chapter 4 you get a game over.

Louie reminded me of Larry (PH) at the very start of the game. I started to like him at the ending of the game.

Three years later and Summer still grinds my gears the most, although it's less because of his actions and more because of his loquaciousness and liberal use of fancy rhetoric and vocabulary to inflate his speech and sound more intellectual than he is.
