B) I don't imagine it's really fair to assume that Sarah's feelings are true for every girl out there, and
C) Sarah seems a bit bitter at John for some reason (which I don't understand because in the first couple of panels they seem to be friendly but she acts incredibly mean in the final one), so what she's saying might be an exaggeration of what she really feels.
Of course, it's a bit silly to try and dissect the personality of a fictional character, unless the characters in here are portraying a scene which actually occurred in real life.

John needs to man up and move out of his parents' basement, or at least tell Sarah to go fuck herself. And then he needs to find a woman who can appreciate his introverted ways, instead of wasting his days pining away for someone who will always ignore him in favor of someone more exciting by her standards.

Shouldn't have made that statement especially when he knew she was going out with someone.
She's just going to go and be mistreated and is too disillusioned with romance.
Hence the string of bad relationships she's drawn to bad men for a short thing.
In studies people actually prefer folks like John for the long run but devil woman can go burn in her HIV infested bed.
Hopefully poor John will be less stupid in future and stop being so freaky and obsessive.

I both agree and disagree with her. Either way, asking someone out when they just said that they have a partner who they are happy with is not a good idea.

She makes a good point despite her cruel delivery that he needs to man up and move on. Yet I bet John, like myself, would probably never change his ways no matter what. He'll probably not take her advice but instead go about obsessing over her in every way possible, regretting confessing his love for her and holding a large pillow pretending it's her.
I have several friends who are girls and sometimes they talk to me about relationship problems, I'm not really interested in any of them romantically though. I'm usually just there to console them because they know I won't judge them too harshly.

You guys shouldn't feel so bad, just because she says it don't mean she's right no reason that a 'John' would make for a boring husband or be 'annoyingly' sweet.
Besides if she wants to follow the old Darwinian style of 'sex = procreation therefore I am better because I want more sex' then she acknowledges that the Jeremy Kyle regulars are fittingly fine examples of the human race.

I myself prefer a John over a Jason (I've actually met a Jason who was a douchebag, and had a friend named John who is a very sweet guy.) I'm pretty self conscious about my body and really the only compliments I ever get is about my hair (which I will be cutting off next week) so I would love to be told that I'm pretty. :)
I would also prefer a somewhat boring guy because I'm somewhat boring myself. I would be fine with just sitting at home playing co-op on a game that I'll be having a really tough time playing through.

Good point. As a dude, I find it surprising that I have as many friends who are girls as I do. Now obviously, I'm not some protagonist from a harem manga, so I don't like all of them romantically, and I don't expect the same. But that being said it's still rather difficult to be assured that you aren't going to make a complete moron out of yourself or screw over a perfectly good friendship by saying a few 'more than platonic' words.
