As it turns out, there isn't that much content on these forums dedicated to the Manga that has been put out. Currently, there are 5 Phoenix Wright volumes (all of which have been translated), 4 Ace Attorney Investigation: Miles Edgeworth volumes (vol. 1, 2, 3 have been translated, volume 4 comes out in January), and 2 Casebooks, which are essentially fan comics compiled into 2 books (both are translated). Head to http://www.kodanshacomics.com to buy them. Alternatively (and also if you want the Casebooks) you can head over to http://www.amazon.com and purchase them there.

I would like to say that I have all the translated works (the ones mentioned above are the only ones I know exist, at least officially). I have read them all and they are really good. They do a great job of making you feel like your'e playing the game. Obviously, you don't control the characters, but it does get intense, and there's always that "OMG NO WAY" moment when the story reaches its conclusion.

Each sub-series is split into a bunch of different cases. The Phoenix Wright series has 7 or 8 cases (I don't have them next to me since I brought them home from college for my brother). I like how the creators always manage to find a different setting for their story. The first case is obviously an introductory case to show what Phoenix Wright is all about, and the cases just get more intense from there. Fans of the series will have no trouble getting into it. There is also that classic Ace Attorney humor sprinkled throughout each case.
This following line may be a little spoilerish (although it has nothing to do with the story), so I will put it in a spoiler tag.
Spoiler:
There is even mention of a recurring, erm, object in the last case of the manga. I'm not embarrassed to say I grinned from ear to ear when I saw it. I can't figure out how to put a spoiler in a spoiler, so I put the object in another spoiler under this one!
Spoiler:
It's a stepladder

The Miles Edgeworth manga doesn't have any court scenes, it's mostly just Miles going to the scene of the crime, reviewing it, and using logic to incriminate the culprit. This is pretty much exactly how the DS game of the same name plays out- you know, the one that goes completely under the radar because it's so different from the rest? The one that has a sequel that refuses to be localized? The one I didn't actually finish because my emulator was being an annoyance (I only used an emulator for AAI:ME)? In any case, the manga is fantastic, and I can't wait for the next volume to release in America. There are a total of 6 translated cases so far, and my guess is that 2 more will be in the final volume.

The Casebooks, in my opinion, offered some entertainment, but I didn't really enjoy them as much as the other two sub-series'. It is a collection of a ton of fan stories compiled into two volumes. The first volume centers around Phoenix and the Fey sisters, while the second volume focuses on Edgeworth and Gumshoe. There certainly is a lot of content, but it doesn't have the right Ace Attorney feel. And some of the time, I can't even make out what the heck was going on.

So anyway, if you have read them, what was your favorite? What is your opinion on these manga?

Till next time,

Any summary of what they're about? I remember reading a PW one that had a case involving wind chimes, and a four-issue PW one involving a spider house, and one involving a studio, and an Edgeworth one involving a costume party. However, http://www.randomhouse.com/book/212638/ ... blurb_tabs doesn't say anything about which case it is.

I am not sure what you mean by the studio, but I'll post a summary to the Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth in two separate posts. I am not going to post a summary of the Casebooks, and anyway they aren't really "cannon" perse, so...

Anyway, and again, I don't have the Phoenix Wright manga in front of me, I'll try to write all that I can remember. I will put the ending in spoiler tags in case anyone wants to see it. I will put giant warning signs before and after so that if you click on it, it's your fault.

The first case is in the beginning of the first volume. Larry has a new girlfriend *again* when he meets Phoenix and Maya at a wind chime festival at some point around New Years (if I remember correctly). Someone gets murdered, and Phoenix has to find out whodunnit. This is a pretty short case, since it is only introductory.

WARNING! SPOILER!
Spoiler:
The killer- SURPRISE- is Larry's new girlfriend. She was going out with the victim when he told her he had a wife and that they couldn't be together. Well, when something smells, it's usually the Butz. And this is no exception.
WARNING! SPOILER!

The second case spans the end of the first volume and the first half of the second volume. For some reason, I can not remember much about the case, even though the ending blew my mind. That much I can remember, but the details themselves, like the names, or how Phoenix got tied into the case, I can't. The plot revolves around the murder of a business tycoon, and the murder is pinned on the tycoon's socially awkward brother, who is obsessed with spiders. He spends his time in the spider house in the backyard, and usually locks himself in there to study. There is a death in the beginning of the case which ties into the present one, since the victim was the boyfriend of the tycoon's daughter.

WARNING! SPOILER!
Spoiler:
The murderer turns out to be the brother of the victim of the first murder. He killed the tycoon because the businessman scared the other man who committed suicide from his fear of spiders. The businessman locked him in the spider house to get him scared. What is so mind blowing is that the whole case, the murder in the spider house, all happened UPSIDE DOWN. It really is something that is best experienced in the books, but every preconceived notion about the case that we had was completely reversed at the end.
WARNING! SPOILER!

The third case, and this is where my memory of the order becomes hazy, takes place at the end of the second volume. It revolves around the murder of something Chambers (the name eludes me), the actor in the Twinklestar costume at the show at *Gatewater Land?*. It becomes known as the world's smallest locked room murder, since the zipper to get in and out of the costume was glued shut. Oh, and old hag Oldbag is back. What would Ace Attorney be without Oldbag hanging around somewhere? There are only a few suspects, those that were backstage during the show- Buck Montana, a.k.a Humongostar, Julie Henson, the MC, and that one guy, who plays Sparklestar, the main character in the show.

WARNING! SPOILER!
Spoiler:
Well, as it turns out, the one who plays Sparklestar did it. He was able to use a hook to unzipper himself and flip around his costume, so that he would be able to open it up and stab Chambers quickly. Chambers was also turned around so that he would be able to pull off a backflip while only doing a forward flip. He then glued it shut and flipped back to normal when no one was looking. His motive was that he was going to be fired and Chambers was going to take over his role as Sparklestar.
WARNING! SPOILER!

That's all for now, but I'll continue to edit this tomorrow, so check back.
