Wouldn't it be better to ask in the Remix forum for music? I would think more composers would be checking there.

Ah yes, thank you for the suggestion. I had already mentioned the contest in my Sprites thread, but I now realize that I can switch the title back and make a new thread in the Remix forums. Thank you once again.

There aren't that many composers on CR, though.
If you can't find what you want here, you might want to look for videogame composers communities like ocremix.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ping.

I just thought I'd get ROTP's biggest supporter so far in on this first.

But, there haven't been any replies to the new thread. Maybe I will check out some other communities.

Thanks again!

I understand your concern.

Sorry, but I can't promise anything. Something may and probably will come up for me to do, and if I promise anything, I may not be able to meet that deadline. I can promise that I'll work hard to get it out soon.

Not a problem.

It's tough to be typing right now, I've taken a trip and am constantly trying to get some decent wireless internet from my hotel room.

Anyways, I do have the basic necessities to work on the game a little during the winter break, and I will try to find time to do so.

I appreciate the concern, but I've already kept the people waiting for so long. Any time I have, I'd like to spend to fulfill the promise of the demo, which many are anxiously waiting for.

I would assume sometime early next year, right Paper? Anyway, don't go asking about when the demo's going to be released GDAFF as if you read over the previous posts', Paper said he is going to work on it during the winter break, so maybe a month or two possibly...

Papermario13689- I just read over Case 1 again and it features investigation periods? I know the game is going to be very long so you are straying from the typical case 1?

Yes, I'm going to have to make a note of this on the first post: Please don't ask when the demo will be released, and definitely don't ask when the whole game will either. I'm busier than the average person, and this started as a side project. I still must work to earn a living, study to obtain a degree, and any other projects happen behind that. Please try to remember this, it's quite tough on me already for keeping everyone waiting, but I can't do much more right now.

Anyways, all that aside, an investigation was already planned from the start for Case 1, so naturally the demo will have it too. Hopefully I can use PWLib 2.0 to script the full demo, since many functions are missing in the current version.

Either you made a mistake, or KSA is unto something. I kid.

Anyway, first case with investigation? Well, I hope it's a short one. I've always liked 1st cases for not having investigations, and being straight-forward. Hope that'll work out.

Apologies, I meant PWLib 1.2, I don't know what possessed me to say 2.0. Anyways, it will be very decent in length, I am aware that newcomers will play this game too, and will need a short case to set the pace.

By the way, every year there are several DS homebrew competitions held for upcoming developers who want to submit their games/applications.

There's almost always money included in the competitions and they're run by flashcard companies (I entered 3 this year).

Just a heads up ;) if you catch my drift.

Considering features added and engine rework, PWLib 1.2 could be easily numbered 2.0.

There's the Neoflash Spring/Summer competition held on http://neoflash.com that always runs annually. 1st place prize is $300.

Other competitions run varyingly, once in a while. The other ones usually have better prizes though ^^

Many, many apologies for the double post, but I have some important news:

Someone broke into our house the other day when I was out, and stole our large TV and my "LAPTOP"! Now, I had backed up my data, but due to a small SD card, I could only save a very small portion of the script :'( Why does all this keep happening to me?

Anyways, I cannot let this deter my progress in releasing ROTP, so I am attempting to put together a program team. (I also do not know why I didn't do this earlier, I didn't want to bother anyone, but now I must ask for help)

Requirements:

- A very flexible schedule: being able to put in decent amounts of time per week.
- Good knowledge of PWLib: I'd like to offer to teach the coding process, but as ROTP has been delayed too much already, I need people who already know how to code properly.
- Frequent visits to CR. Information of the scripting will be sent out by PM on CR, so it is necessary that you check your inbox often.
- An ImageShack or PhotoBucket account. Transferring of necessary photos will be easier through these sites.

Pros of being on the program team:

- Early insight on the game, much before the public knows about it.
- Major page in the credits, with a name of your choice, and a link of your choice to a website.
- Link and name also mentioned in the GyakutenWiki, blog, and thread as an official contributor.

Cons

- You'd know the entire case before playing. I can however warn you about these, and can script the spoiler parts myself.
- You'd need a decent amount of time to spend on the contribution to this game.

So basically, I'm putting together a team of 10 people, with myself included.

Advanced
1. papermario13689
2. Ptapcc
3. whitehelm
4. DeMatador
5. Attorneyatlawl
6.
7.

Basic
8. ShadowEdgeworth
9. Bass_Ultra
10.

I am very, very, very sorry for this sudden turn of events. I also realize that I have not been able to provide more than a trailer and a few screenshots for the game since its first announcement. Now that I've bought a new laptop and reloaded what little files I had left, it's back to hardcore scripting for me! I've put all other projects (blog, Stepmania beat-mapping, DTXMania beat-mapping, etc.) aside in order to try and recover what I've lost.

Thank you CR, for your patience and understanding!

Thank you. I'm actually laughing at the irony right now of what happened: I'm trying to make a law game where you defend the innocent, but someone stole my laptop...

Anyways, pointing laughing aside, I'm very glad that everyone is so patient and understanding. It's always hell having to wait, but nobody ever complains.

Nooo! That really sucks but lucky for you, I can help out. Let's check the criteria.

A very flexible schedule: being able to put in decent amounts of time per week. I'm on holidays at the moment for 6 weeks. I normally do about 2 hours a night of programming on school days and more on weekends, if I am not previously occupied with other work.
    - Good knowledge of PWLib: I'd like to offer to teach the coding process, but as ROTP has been delayed too much already, I need people who already know how to code properly. I am currently working on the ME: AA PWlib version, my own PWlib fan game and am the main programmer on the soon to be coming PWlib conversion of Turnabout Substitution. I know quite a bit.
    - Frequent visits to CR. Information of the scripting will be sent out by PM on CR, so it is necessary that you check your inbox often. I am online every day and for most of the day.
    - An ImageShack or PhotoBucket account. Transferring of necessary photos will be easier through these sites. I have an account on Imageshack.

So yeah, I can contribute quite a bit to this project.

something is bugging me when i checked the gyakutenwiki page 2 weeks ago in the progress section it said that the game was 90% finished and the demo was cancelled but now its changed to that the game is 10% finished and the demo is 50% finished can you explain this?

papermario experienced an incident and a lot of the data of the game was lost, lucky that he managed to create a back-up... a very short back-up, meaning that he has to begin from something higher than zero, hence, the need of a program team.

Well, to speak absolute truth, someone tampered with the GyakutenWiki page, saying that the demo was 90% finished, and everything else was 100%, which is not even close to what was true at the time.

However, Scent is right. I suffered a break in while I was out, losing a majority of the files for the game. I have dropped back to 10%, and in order to catch up, I'm putting together the program team.

Apologies to everyone who is waiting for this. I guess I'm unlucky in this area. Anyways, I bought a new laptop so I'm heading right back to work.
