I think Red White s one of the BIGGEST pompous asses in the series.

And Luke Atmey is my most favorite out of all arrogant jerks in the series.

Feh, Payne does seriously, for a prosecutor he seems to have a big ego with his whole 'I won't go easy on you rookie' deal. Their are some others too... Some of them I like their ego in a good way and some in a bad way..

Let's see... Edgey in the beginning, Manfred since he first showed up, Godot has a pretty big ego, Redd is splendiferously egotistical, Dolly, Klavier, Payne, Welly, Kristoph, Valant, Zak, Dee, Matt, AJ era Ema, Portsman, and Lang. Atmey was egotistical, but he just wanted to be recognized, and using the logic of the AA world
( Will Powers, who is kinda generic = Famous, Atmey, butt-crazy detective man with unexplainable hair= Not so famous), he wasn't going to be recognized. But in the end, he's recognized as best AA character world's best detective.

Some of the best insane ego lines (paraphrased from memory):

4-4: "You would let riff-raff into your courts?! You would let judicial decisions be made by a bunch of ignorant mouth-breathers?!!"

3-5: "My sister was nothing but a backstabber.
...
I've never really cared about anyone but myself.
...
Helping? Ha! From the day I was born, I never helped anyone!"

1-4: "I am so perfect, I will have this case closed in three minutes!"

2-1: "The people accusing me are just like the people who didn't agree with Galileo!"

2-4: "I fooled everyone! Everyone, all working their butts off for me!"

I demand to know why Valant has only been stated once!
But... there's always the obvious ones like Manfred, Redd White, Kristoph, Franziska, Dahlia, etc. etc.

There are so many strong candidates!

A murderer is almost required to be egotistical by definition, in the sense that they think that their anger, or grudge, or self-serving goals are more important than someone else's life. This is doubly true in Ace Attorney, where the writer goes out of his way to make most of the killers smug assholes once their true colors show, and have them show off in ridiculous ways so that they can put in amusing animations. The AA murderers also usually go out of their way to make someone else take the fall for what they did instead of taking responsibility, which is also egotistical.

Who here has heard Redd White's theme from the Phoenix Wright (fan-made) Musical Project? It's one of the most arrogant songs ever.

Shi-Long Lang. He proves that being attentive to your subordinates and being arrogant are not mutually exclusive. When combined with style, they make for a good cult of personality.

Wesley Stickler. Sort of a less extreme version of Richard Wellington.
Apollo-era Phoenix (again, not an extreme example)

Does laughing like crazy at your own jokes that aren't funny, then not laughing at someone else's joke, count as a big ego? If so, Moe is another example.

Really, the characters are designed to be flashy and stand out, so just about any character qualifies. Even Gumshoe is boastful about how he's gonna beat Phoenix. Their showiness, especially for the characters who are professional performers, is part of the characters' charm.

Even the characters you play as, i.e. Phoenix/Maya/Mia/Apollo/Trucy/Edgeworth/Kay, are pretty snarky.

In fact, on a list of characters who are charmingly boastful, the big ego club would have to include:

Trucy "people come from miles around to see my panties!" Wright. She won't stop until you're convinced that Mr. Hat is the greatest trick you've ever seen!
Kay "I'm a legendary Great Thief, a modern Robin Hood" Faraday. Which is pretty boastful when

There are some characters in GK2 who DEFINITELY qualify as having a big ego. I'm talking ones who would actually make the top ten for the series and compete with the likes of Atmey, Manfred, Shelley, Franziska, etc.



In the first two games, I would definitely include Edgeworth among prosecutors with a massive ego.

I have to disagree. Being snarky, or even being a little boastful, is not the same thing as having a big ego.

As for who has the biggest ego, my vote goes to Redd White.

Meh, there are a lot of AA characters with huge egos, but I guess I'd have to go with Redd White.

I did! Even though it is arrogant, it was a rather good song, just simply because of the way they portray him. They did a good job of it, so it was a good song in the end anyways.

I thought Redd White at first too, but a lot of people are saying Manfred von Karma too, which I guess he is. Perhaps I just thought Redd White because of how flashy he is, and how he keeps talking about himself all the time.
