Christmas Time is Here. It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.

Tis the season to be jolly, and of great television. Doctor Who Specials, Christmas songs, that snuggly warm feeling as you sit by the tree in the dark watching the twinkly lights.

Christmas is the best time of the year.

Does anyone have any warming Christmas stories? Tales of Chestnuts roasting on an open fire? Of Mistletoe and Wine? Of Mummy kissing Santa Claus underneath the Christmas Tree? Of Frosty the Snowman?

Share them here. What do you love about Christmas?
I'll be home for Christmas, just like Last Christmas.

We should be this happy all year round. Let it SNOW!

Isn't Christmas brilliant?

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I got Guitar Hero 4 last year.
I've decided I like Rock Band better.
I like candy canes.
But my absolute favourite part of the Christmas time is the egg nog. Lots and lots of egg nog.

I love Christmas because I get to spend time with my family and get nice presents.

And the Christmas music and specials are nice too :)

Bah humbug.

As I've said before, I don't like how commercialized Christmas has become. But reguardless, it does give me that warm feeling that I can't get anywhere else. As well as great childhood memeories.

But to tell the truth, this time of year just seems like a big Holiday Clusterf*** to me

That's not my problem. Take it up with your school district if you want an extra day off. Not that they'll listen to you. My holiday is technically one day shorter because we have teacher in-service, but a day without students is a holiday to me.

If Christmas is as useful as it is pleasant, then it is very useful indeed.

The worst thing is, I will probably have to work Christmas Eve, Boxing day, the 27th and the 28th. Damned shops. Quit moaning about your 16 day holiday. I have 1.

I love going into London on Christmas Eve, seeing all the lights. There's a real atmosphere. A shiver that run's down your body. Sure, everyone's bustling around like every other day. No one acts any different, but you can feel the buzz. The tingle of excitement in everyone around.
And the shop windows are amazing.
Harrods, Hamleys, Selfridges, Debenhams, Marks and Spencer. Their window displays are flipping wonderful.

Oh god I love Christmas.

Christmas is the most powerful force we know. For me, the most astonishing and warming example of this was Christmas day, 1914. The British and German soldiers called a truce from their trenches and timidly at first ventured into no man's land to exchange gifts, food and drink and Christmas cheer. They even played football together.

If that isn't the most remarkable effect of the power of Christmas, then I don't know what is. Magical.

My favorite part about Christmas is the candy canes, and all of the peppermint foods out.

But I hate how people bitch about how it's cold. NO SHIT, IT'S WINTER.

Well that's Americans for you. XD Then they commercialised it.

That reminds me, I really want to go to Germany one Christmas to see all the vast Christmas Markets they hold. That must be quite an experience.

And I love the cold.

Merry Christmas.

I'm just glad that Christmas is a great opportunity to see the remaining members of my family. My grandparents don't get younger and I enjoy every year with them.

@Ultimate Prosecutor: Yes, those markets are everywhere. No matter how small a town is (even as small as mine), they have at least one or two Christmas markets. For me, it's pretty annoying to see all that kitsch that gets sold, but oh well, at least the food booths are great. Yummy.

I did have one terrible Christmas, it was when I was 7. My parents got into a violent argument about laundry and bills.

My dad tried to throw a grapefruit at my mom but it hit me instead.

My mom ended up driving me and one of my sisters to her friend's house and we stayed there until December 27th.

The worst part was, I only got a toy car for Christmas, I don't like toy cars.

It's pretty funny, actually. It's sorta sad that some people can't realize the true meaning of Christmas: The birth of Santa Claus.

I know that I will have to work on either the 24th or 25th, if not both, because I made the stupid decision to work part time thus forfeiting any full time benefits I would have received, including holidays off.

Christmas isn't as significant to me as it was when I was 10. No gifts on Christmas day any more.

Aww man Yara, I'm sorry and all. Bummer that had to happen on Christmas, but don't put a downer on the spirit.

By the time Christmas comes, I want everyone to be feeling all warm and fuzzy, and this topic is my contribution to that.

We've got all the Christmas songs going at work, and whilst customers get a bit more stressed with the pressure of the obligatory shopping, they're also more forgiving and friendly.

@Mr.Bear: For me, Christmas has changed for me. If I based it on gifts, sure it's not the same. But I judge Christmas now, as I said, on the spirit, the family and the TV :D.

there's this one street in my town that goes all out during christmas. there's light up animals and santas everywhere. in the middle of the street, there's a divider, and a bunch of thirty feet tall trees there that they hang a bunch of colored lights on. i love going down this street every year.

my middle school band played there twice, sometime around christmas. it was amazing. the jewish songs were especially fun to play.

i've never really been concerned about the presents, or even the break we get (even if it is nice). it's all about the spirit. it's... magical. it's about spending time with your family and friends, the anticipation of presents, the stories, reconciliation, forgiveness, happiness, too many things i can't describe. which is why i really don't like the commercialization of it. the presents are only material possessions. christmas is about the immaterial feeling.

another thing i like about christmas is just sitting by the fire with my family.

btw winter is my favorite season. except it never snows here.

damn you guys stop posting i can't get this one in :/

Serious Yaragorm, stop being a hater!

Christmas has got more exciting to me as I've got older. Once you get past the material barrier it gets better and better.

I'd love it to snow. Snow like it did last March.

I'm not spiritual. I'm as religious as my head is square (it isn't).

But two dates evoke my emotions like no others. One is Remembrance Day, the other Christmas.

Christmas is just special.

You know, Christmas to me is all about that warm, fuzzy kinda feeling you get during the holiday. The best part about it for me is seeing my brother, sister, and mom all smile as they open their gifts, even gasping in surprise at times. It's not the gifts that makes me feel so great. It's the giving of them that does because that's giving of myself. :) And yeah, it is kinda nice to have break and receive gifts, but it doesn't compare to the feeling that I did something to make someone's day brighter.

But this year the part of the family I usually spend Christmas with have gone and made plans and for some reason decided not to include me.

So fuck them. I hope they all get food poisoning :pearl:

The money I'm gonna save by not buying them presents is gonna buy me a 360 WOOOO
