Maya and Pearl should definitely be at least directly mentioned or appear in a background or something so we fans can rest assured they aren't dead or something. I personally wouldn't mind them actually being in one case if they didn't whore the spotlight too much from the new characters like Phoenix did in AJ.
I personally feel that it's kinda wack that they threw Ema into AJ (and GK, for that matter), but didn't include Lana or even MENTION her. Like, I don't care if she's still in jail, dead, or inside a Blue Badger costume, they need to at least tell us what the hell happened to her. :/
Eldoon is a must for me. I simply adore Eldoon in the least homosexual way possible. I also think Wocky and the Kitaki family would be nice, but it could also be better to wait til GS6 for them. (GS6 sure is a weird thought, huh...) Lamiroir will return, I'm assuming. She's pretty crucial to Apollo and Trucy growing as characters. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that they'll bring Lammy back and then have some weak excuse like "Machi became rich and now prances around in Borginia while playing piano for disabled monkeys!" or some other bullshit to explain why they were too lazy to work him in. You know, they pretty much forced Valant and Brushel into being important, too. They'll be back. And I'd really really want to see Vera back.
I sure as hell don't want Edgeworth and Kristoph back. Kristoph can be mentioned, MAYBE. Like Morgan was in 3-5, you know. I am just so sick of the bastard. It's like with Dahlia in T&T-- You get reeaaally sick of going against this smug assholey villain in one game. And Edgeworth is getting all the attention he needs what with Kenji these days. Besides, at this point, there's nothing he could contribute to the plotline. His rivalry with Phoenix is fairly null, as Nick is now a frickin' hobo.
Personally, I'm more looking forward to the new characters GS5 will bring, as opposed to seeing returners. Not that I'm not excited for returning characters, obviously. Ahahahah!
