Did you play the series out of order? And if you did, how was it for you?

I played it in the order of 2,1,3,4 and soon AAI

IT was kinda cool, cause Phoenix's amnesia was shared with me cause NEITHER of us had a clue what was going on. Didn't get to see Edgeworth till the end though. That annoyed me cause I thought I had the first game cause I specifically ASKED for the first game, and didn't get it. I think I would've respected Franziska more if I saw her father first.

What was your experience?

I played the first two cases of JFA first, but didn't really get it (I was young and stupid). Then I played AA, JFA again, T&T and AJ. In that order.

I played them in order as well. Though I thought that T&T was the second one so I played the first case and then found out. Not to much harm I guess.

Against my will, I started by playing through the second game.

I had tried out my brother's copy of the first game and really liked it, but I couldn't find a copy in an actual store, so I had to order it online. In the meantime, I played through the second game up until a certain part of case 2-3 (when Gumshoe talks some about Edgeworth). I was trying to avoid spoilers (though at the time I figured Edgeworth had died, 'cuz that's what was being implied), so I stopped. When GS1 arrived, I immediately played through the entire game, then picked up where I left off in GS2. Since then, I've played the games in order.

I played it as JFA, T&T, AJ, AA, then hopefully AAI.

But long before playing 2 I had already watched the whole walkthrough of 1 on Youtube.

It's better than my sister, who did it like this: Cases 2-1, 2-2, T&T, AJ, AA, Cases 2-3, 2-4.

I played it like this: GK, then GS1-4. I only played GK first as I imported it from Japan after Play-asia bugged me with updates about it.

It was interesting. I was a bit confused at some of the references they made but when I played GS1, I was like 'Oh'.

EDIT: You spelled Attorney wrong in the name of the topic Arkillian.

This is exactly what I did. Kind of ruined 1-4 for me, though. While I didn't know exactly what the ending would be, I knew which character wasn't coming out. :/

I played PW:AA first as usual, but for some reason I played the first case of T&T next, before playing JFA and THEN the rest of T&T.
Luckily it didn't spoil anything.

I played about half of T&T first, as it was the most highley recommended, so for me it went 3 (up to chapter 3), then 1, 2, 3 again, then AJ. It didnt ruin it to much for me as when I started playing I wasnt too fussed about the storyline - it was only when I got really into the game about halfway through that I bought the other games and played them in order.
I kind of wish I'd played AJ first, as I might have been a bit more objective with it had I not played and loved the first three game sso much.

I played JFA first, then AA, then AJ, and then T&T. I didn't even know that JFA was a sequel when I bought it, I just thought it seemed interesting.

I played AJ first. That wasn't a big problem, but i tought Phoenix looked weird when i saw him younger.
Then i played T&T, because it was the first i could get after AJ. (when i played AJ i didn't even know there were more games..)
After T&T i played 1 and then 2.
To bad i knew about Adrian not being guilty and all because i saw her in T&T. Also, they were talking about Edgeworth, and i had no idea who he was.
But meh,
Spoiler:
I spoiled Matt's breakdown before playing it. So i already knew it anyway. I tought it was weird because he was the defendant.

I played JFA first, because I just found it in my house, and because I didn't know it was part of a series. I worked that out when I was playing 2-2. Then I played AJ, since I thought it was the game that came after JFA, and I couldn't find AA in any shops or anything. Then there was a gap of about five months, and I got an R4 card, so I managed to download AA and T&T, so I could play them. :will:

2,1,3,4. I found it weird that this 'Prosecutor' made a dramatic entrance at the airport in JFA, then I figured out that I had just ruined the ending of Ace Attorney.

1, 3, 2, 4. I had finished the first game and was looking for JFA, but could only find T&T, so I bought it and played it. Then I got JFA for my birthday, and am currently playing through AJ (But pretty much everything has been spoiled for me so yeah)

I played the games in order. However, since my first playthrough of the games was done on an emulator, I couldn't finish 1-5, 4-2, 4-3 or 4-4 (Mic issues), so I ended up buying GS1 and GS4 just to finish those cases, and I just bought the other 2 to have a complete set. So I guess the REAL order of completion of the games for me is...

GS2
GS3
GS4
GS1

I played it in this order: Phoenix Wright: Justice For All > Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney > Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations > Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney > Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations (when it launches in Europe that is).

Funnily enough, it was my brother that bought JFA first (because he read the reviews on Amazon saying that it was an alright game). After finding out that my brother bought it, I asked him why on earth he bought such a crappy game. Of course, during the night that day my brother bought the game, I tried the game out and after the first two cases, I was severely hooked to it and completed it before my brother even got a chance to start case 3 & 4. I bought PW: AA / PW: T&T / AJ: AA after I had completed JFA. And now I'm waiting for AAI to release over here.

...I had always thought Phoenix Wright was going to be a terrible game. My experience after playing JFA changed my mind completely and I am now addicted to the series.

AA -> JFA -> AJ -> T&T was the order that I played them in, due to AJ being released before T&T in Europe.

3, 4, 1, 2, and I have been unable to stop whining about it ever since. T&T is the worst game to start off with - I know a lot of people began with JFA 'cuz AA's pretty hard to get ahold of, but it's just so wrong to begin with the epic finale, and not just because of the spoilers. Also most of AA was a bit of a downer for me because, starting with T&T as I had, I thought Edgeworth was the most marvelous prick and I couldn't understand why you had to play as him of all things. I started sympathizing with him more in AA, but that opinion fell again in JFA. I guess after Godot, Klavier and Edgeworth both seemed kinda...weak. For some reason I adored Franziska, though.

AJ also felt a bit like a disappointment after T&T's pretty strong characterization. In short: I played T&T first and felt the other games couldn't live up to that standard.

I asked for "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" for Christmas one year, and leave it to old people to get the wrong thing. I got "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations" first, and it's my favourite. Then I played the others in order starting with the first. I don't really think it affected anything.

I actually believed in JFA that Edgeworth was dead, until 2-3, in which he's at the airport. I did a double-take at that! In fact I played AA straight after AA4. Literally from 4-4 to 1-1. Still, it was brilliant!

No. I think it's kind of retarded to play sequels before their predecessors, especially such story driven games as Phoenix Wright.

Games like Persona 3 or 4, or games like Pokemon are ok because they're independant stories in both cases.

So, I played them out of order, sort of :\ I went to a few stores and couldn't find AA, so I eventually just got JfA. I later found AA in a different store.

I didn't realise they had to be in any order so I didn't bother checking which one was the first one.

Besides, Tesco only had JFA and AJ lol
