Edit : New page woop!

I ordered mine and I live in England, so I hope I dont have to wait ages. But I'm mad because I was talking to someone on the C-R chat thing (I cant remember who it was) and I said, "It says on amazon uk that its out of stock, does that mean amazon has never had it or that it has and its just sold a lot?" and they said that it was on amazon only they had sold them all. >:(

How/Where did you order it, because on Amazon UK all you can do now is be notified when (if??) it comes in, I had pre-ordered it on there and they cancelled the pre-order earlier in the week :larry:

I so agree with your statement Arkillian as I doubt Australia will get the book (Aus. and NZ seem to never get anything AA related). According to a popular manga store in the city, they haven't even got stock yet or heard if they are getting any...though they have it on their website. *sigh*, I think this might be turning into T&T for our two countries again...

Well, for once, you're not the only ones concerned, as pretty much everybody is in the same situation. :yogi:
When Udon fails, that's some pretty epic failure :o (Capcom, a gift on my Christmas list: get rid of Udon, and get some real and serious publisher for your artbooks, please~)
Even though I already got the Japanese one, I'm still waiting for some scans, so as to get some translations of the few notes in the book... even though the most important thing is the art itself.

Where in Aussie are you? You have Madman there. You guys should be in the loop better than underground NZ is. People in NZ still think manga is DBZ, pokemon and Mickeymouse. I am totally SERIOUS. People look at me funny when I say I draw/write comics like it's a completly deviant thing to do. I don't get respect till I go overseas :(

Boarders in NZ have heard of it, but I'll likely get it from Amazon if America gets it and they STILL don't have info on it. I donno. It's frustrating. I can't even import the shinny versions of the game off Amazon now. They're forcing me to wait for one with no extra features. Go Zone 4. For the fail.

I just checked on the English Amazon site, and it's not even saying when it'll be. Although, when I showed my mum about a week ago, it said it was out of stock. Wouldn't that mean it was already released?

But it still says "Publisher: Udon Entertainment (30 Oct 2009)". I'll check in Waterstones tomorrow, they're meant to be getting it in.

On Amazon.de it says "Verlag(Publisher): Udon Entertainment (20. Januar 2010)"

But it also says: "Derzeit nicht auf Lager.
Bestellen Sie jetzt und wir liefern, sobald der Artikel verfügbar ist. Sie erhalten von uns eine E-Mail mit dem voraussichtlichen Lieferdatum, sobald uns diese Information vorliegt."

Which means basically:
"Currently out of stock.
Order now and we'll deliver as soon as the article is available. You'll recieve an e-mail with the estimated date of delivery as soon as we have this information."

So I don't know if they know this date ( 20 January 2010) for sure.

I'm in Melbourne and although we have Madman, they aren't the ones releasing it. I don't know who is but it definitely isn't Madman as there is nothing generating about PW on their site. Lol, we seem to have moved up from that type of manga to Naruto and Bleach but it gets very tiring all the time as there is only so much you can take of it before it gets annoying.

I usually order of Amazon, or Play-Asia as they usually have stock in all the time.

I checked in Waterstones earlier, and they said that it IS available, but it would take a few months to get delivered anyway, because it was specially made for the order, not just in a stockpile.

Could that be what the mix-up is about? Capcom not mentioning that each book is tailor-made or something?

Well I'm not going to bother with it now. I just ordered the Japanese version from Amazon.JP, because I just don't feel like waiting for a book that I don't think is going to be released.

This is weird... why would you have to have an artbook tailor-made for each person who orders it? Especially for a series that isn't as popular among the mainstream as many other games?

"Tailor-made" gives me the impression of complete customization, which is not feasible at all. For example: "Could you include all the characters except Jean Armstrong and Brushel, and could you put Edgeworth on every even-numbered page?" The demand would have to be very small to answer to every request, not to mention that it's just outright weird. I chalk it up to the book not being out for a long, long time, if at all.

This smells fishy, real fishy. Borders didn't cancel my order yet, but I'm seriously expecting it any day now. I can't believe I dropped a gift card on this, even if it was to support AA outside Japan. I've heard of delays, but this doesn't seem to have any legit excuse whatsoever.

For those who have given up on waiting, the Japanese "Art of Gyakuten Saiban" doesn't disappoint - it serves the purpose if you're using it for art or cosplay reference. Not to mention that the books' covers are way better (that JFA art on the English-language release is pretty tired, IMO.) There is not a lot of text other than quotes from the characters and a small character note in the corner.

The guidebooks are smaller (physical size, not length) but they are very text-heavy with more notes and lots of preliminary sketches. I could understand if there was a holdup with a set of those, because the translation process is a lot of work. But you can't translate art, and there is little text. Lazy much, Udon?

Apparently Minotaur (the best anime store in Melbourne) don't know when it will be released so they have taken it off their website. I called them to ask about it and they said until they receive a definite release date and then stock, they can't advertise it.

About time! Good to hear. I don't know about Borders. The computer system acts like the book has been out since the 30th of October on their site, so I will have to watch my email in the coming days...

You can't imagine how frustrated I personally am, it waits until after Christmas, and RIGHT when I've got enough money to afford Mr. New MacBook Pro.

Sorry Amazon. My love of Ace Attorney can only hope to match my unhealthy Mac fixation.

EDIT: Oh yes, before I forget. When someone gets their physical copy, can you post a pic or two? I'd love to made a new front page topic with it. Just to verify, conclusively, that the elusive art book has landed..

I'll do it Wooster, as soon as I get my copy. Ah, the joy of PW but damn Udon for releasing it right when all the new stuff comes out.

Why does this have to come out now when I'm totally broke and have no money to spare?

I'll probably get this next month after things settle down around here or as a reward for an exam I have to take. Yeah, I should probably wait until then.

Orders are STILL getting canceled? This is honestly whacked...

I was just in the manga section of Borders today to get the volumes of Higurashi I don't already have, and what do I see but the Mega Man Complete Works (also published by Udon) on a little stand? I looked at it pitifully and said to myself: "You're one of the lucky ones," then went about my business.

I called Borders Customer Care about the major differences in dates between them and Amazon. The woman on the line said that Borders has different suppliers than Amazon, and that Borders usually gets their info on release dates from the publisher (meaning that Udon never informed Borders about changes in dates.) She agreed to gather up more information about my order and get back to me by e-mail.

I got a reply within a day - even with a "high importance" flag on it. According to them, my order should be here in about 20 business days plus shipping. That's about the middle of February. If all goes well it could be a double whammy, since that coincides with the release of Ace Attorney Investigations, or very close to it. I'll be willing to wait 20 business days if everything goes okay!

If someone gets a copy before I do, I'd love to see some scans!

Edit: Although Customer Care said that it would take 20 business days + shipping, if you look up the book on Borders.com it says "ships within 24 hours." Is it available already? I honestly don't know. It also says "not available in stores." Odd. When I call the company itself, they seem just as confused as we do...

You know, if this thing ceases to be a legend, we should organize some sort of thank-you bash for Capcom. Let them know we like this sort of loot.
(And if things go well, maybe they'll send us more; and hopefully better organized.)

We should then tell them to look at another publisher. Seriously, what took Udon so long?! When my copy arrives, I'll see if there are any major differences to the Japanese version.

I called Minotaur about 40 minutes ago to ask about my order. They told me it was sent out yesterday. They received 3 copies of the book and are now out of stock, so lucky I got an order in.
