Any first responders down yonder? (A first responder is any medically trained person who may be the first to arrive on the scene of a medical situation, ergo, police, fire, or EMS.)

I'm a Fire Cadet with a local volunteer company (it's been nearly half a year now--I signed up when I was old enough), and I'm planning on taking EMT classes once they start in October, despite being horribly squeamish. :godot: I'm also the captain of a Police Explorers post, but our ridealongs definitely don't qualify us for being first responders.

C'mon, guys, there must be some of you out there! 8D

I've got a few people in my family that are. My uncle is a firefighter and my other uncle is a retired fire chief.

My uncle is a sheriff police. I've had a sense of justice all my life and I signed up for police cadet stuff in high school. Went for that for 2 years or so, we rode with officers sometimes, ran city events as security ( fairs, events, etc) However I was in a sense " Honorably discharged" from the cadet system due to an accident where a fight broke out in the fair and a man brought out a gun and shots were fired. Me being one of the 2 victims shot, Luckily it was in the thigh on my leg. The other victim was a civilian who was also hit with the bullet that pierced me, ( in the knee). though technically, it was just because they felt so bad for me and didn't want me to sub-stain any more injuries. So its ironic, I was one of the first responders, AND victim.

...Wow. :lana:

My uncle is an undercover policeman. He got almost shot on his motorbike a few months ago by a couple of criminals that were about to rob an old man.
