I still think that there's more to atheism than just holding a grudge against organized religion, though. To be honest, I didn't truly settle into my own atheism until recently, when I stopped to really think about it. Questioning one's beliefs is an important part of maturing as a person, in my eyes. Whenever I looked at other ways of life, I came back to atheism because it felt "right" to me. I understand how you feel with having religion shoved down your throat, though. I'm not trying to victimize myself, but I'm a homosexual and I've gotten a lot of "You're immoral!" crap over it. You learn to get used to it, really. The USA still has its fair share of discrimination branching from religion, as does just about any country.

I feel that it's important to learn how to live in harmony with people from different religious backgrounds. There will always be disagreements at times, sure, but you learn to accept each other's differences. :pearl:

...Sorry for turning this into such a sappy post. I sound like a Yu-Gi-Oh character or something. XD

I'm glad this has more or less settled now. I realize that my prejudice is absolutely wrong, but I sort of can't help myself at times. I hope I didn't sound too victimized in my previous post. But it's not an exaggeration. And I want to make it clear that I really know what being an atheist implies, and I have given it some serious thought. I'm not just an atheist so I can be the most contrary to religious as possible. I just don't agree with any religion, and that's why I just picked the one remaining.

By the way, you can know that I support 100% homosexuals and homosexual marriage, and I'm proud of you being proud of it.

You didn't victimize yourself; I understand very well that being in a minority - especially one that conflicts with "traditional" values - can be difficult at times. That, and coming to terms with yourself and others from different backgrounds can also be hard. I'm glad that everything's settled down now, though. *thumbs up*

7. I love Northern Europe, especially Denmark and Iceland. I hope to visit both countries in the future.
8. I have a slight fear of dogs. I think part of this had to do with me being tackled by a huge dog when I was three years old; the dog meant no harm and was just trying to play, but it still scarred my little brain. XD

^ Meh, that's somewhat true. But I don't like it just because everyone else does, or that it's the "cool thing". I'm just interested in their culture, that's all. I don't think there's anything wrong with someone being interested in another culture and admiring them. I have a friend who's white and loves Middle Eastern and Indian things. I also have another friend who loves everything Irish. I could go on and on.

You should be proud that people are interested in your culture. What if everybody hated it?? I'm Irish and used to Irish dance and it would always make me feel good that there are dancers who are African American, Asian, Hispanic, etc. To me, it means that you don't need to be a specific ethnicity to enjoy something that's outside of your culture.

1) I'm an atheist, because religion in general just seems silly to me, and having it shoved down my throat for the last 16 years didn't help. But that's just my opinion.

1) I am a Christian, even though I have no idea how the hell that's different from most other religions... O.o Though I do add my own beliefs to it, like the fact that if we have a strong reason to stay on earth instead of moving on to heaven or hell, we stay on earth as spirits. But, I am hardly religious at all. XP I believe just in case. If there is no God, then there isn't. If there is, then good thing I believed in him.

2) Somehow, at a birthday party/interactive murder mystery thing party in like 3rd grade, I got the nickname Onion, and it stuck. Don't be jumping to conclusions. The only reason I got the nickname was because at the party, my character's name was Annastasia, which can be shortened to Annie, which reminded my friend of a movie with a character names Aunia or something [pronounced like on-ya], which sounded like Onion. XP Confusing, eh? Plus, that friend who made it up is obsessed with food nicknames.

3) ANYTHING ABOUT INJURING, CUTTING, BRUISING, POKING, OR ANYTHING DEALING WITH WRISTS BOTHERS ME REEEEALLY BAD. Seriously, it was EXTREMELY difficult for me to even type that. XP Yet, I watch bloody medical shows almost constantly and can stare at a beating heart without having any problems at all. In fact, human hearts kinda look like blood-covered uncooked chickens... O.o But that's kinda off topic....

It's the same with me, only I hate anything to do with the undersides of my arms, or the palms of my hands, etc. O_o For example, I have a load of bracelets on my arm, but if the side with the design is on the underside of my arm, I always have to put it right way up. And I can never doodle on the undersides. O_o I'm weird.

That'll be my first fact, so ...

2.) Despite this ^^^ , in an RE lesson once, I was fiddling with a metal pen lid, trying to get that clippy thing off it, when I pulled it towards my wrist ... and, well, a lot of blood follwed. PFFFFT XD I only realised recently that this could have been a "Near Death Experience". (I accidently cut it vertical, which could have killed me. D:

3.) I have a schoolbag that's so pricey I'm not allowed to use it for school. D:

Yeah, I'm like that as well. My wrists and elbow joints are really sensitive. Just touching my wrist with my finger makes me feel really uncomfortable, there's an ever so slight pain too. Also, the undersides of my arms are pretty sensitive.

1. I'm addicted to Tesco Value milk chocolate bars.
2. When I'm not messing around on the internet (mostly Facebook, I spend way too much time on it) or DSing I'm probably studying. My social life's pretty non-existant outside of a night out with friends ~twice a month.
3. I love the sting of aftershave.
