Seriously, Steve Jobs announced it as an "invention that would cause a revolution". It's just an iPod Touch + Kindle that is too big to carry and to casual to use at home.
I was really hoping for a tablet PC. Not like I would ever be able to afford it, but what the heck.
The sad thing here is that people with iPod Touchs and Kindles will buy it... A lot of them.

reasons:
- no multitasking, bad.
- capacitive touchscreen (+ accelerometer). it may be useful for the iphone, or just being able to play iphone games, but capacitive touchscreens need a special pen (not all that bad though, they usually for around 10$), and it can't sense pressure changes, not really making it useful for drawing/art/whatever. also, the combination may be okay for little casual games on the iphone, but gaming gets really gimmicky on a bigger device like the ipad.
- no expandable memory. seriously, i'd really like to be able to expand this thing's (or any apple device's for that matter) flash memory. instead of being able to put some inexpensive sd cards in, i have to pay a considerable deal more for more memory. and at the maximum of 64gb, it's not very appealing as a small computer.
- price. apple products are just expensive, and the device doesn't justify its cost. it's not going down either.
- no physical buttons/keyboard. i just find the lack of tactile response to be annoying. i know there's going to be some sort of keyboard, but that's going to cost around $30. also, this means no proper gaming support.
- not open source. although i've already expected this from apple. i do like customization and running my own stuff not blessed by apple's app store. speaking of which, you have to pay for literally everything as well.
- the OS. it's just.. iphone 3.2 OS :(
it's basically a big, expensive, iphone, minus phone and camera.

But really, I'm not that interested in the thing. I think L_J pretty much sums up why I'm not going to buy it, really. A portable touchscreen through the DS and the iPhone, I think is pretty tolerable. Both are compact and discreet. This thing just screams "Mug me". I mean, I can't honestly say I'd see people using this in a public place. I don't see how this would cause a Revolution. It's not a disgruntled peasant, or an angry Bolshevik. Nor does it talk about destruction, want money for people with minds that hate, or carry around pictures of Chairman Mao.
