I would say in order

1. DS Lite- as the last poster said, it has the cheapest games (Even though I only have a first gen :payne:
2. Wii- I think it is the most revolutionized console. EVER
3. XBox 360 Core- It wouldn't be fair to rate it (because I don't have one) but other than graphics, it doesn't seem different than any other normal controller console.
I really need a new sig...

Even if you can't find any games you like for it, which I doubt, Wii Spots'll keep you busy until August/September, when the big ones come out.

In my order

Wii : Wii Sports/Zelda/Wario Ware/Mario Party 8/Super Paper Mario are sure to keep you busy until 1-3 months when the good games like Super Mario Strikers charged comes out.

DS Lite : My parents were skeptical at first,I got it for christmas, booted it up,and they were like "Whoa." it is pretty good,I remember seeing my bro play on his regular and i'm like "Dark."

X360 Core : I have a Premium,I was reading it,Core isn't worth it,you should just get a Premium,for a hard drive and wireless controller.

The people who whine and say "NO GAMES FOR THE WII" annoy me because, while there are only 2 real AAA games (Zelda TP and SPM) there are many other games that are high in quality and entertainment that people ignore for silly reasons, also with the Virtual Console its really like getting 6 (soon to be 7) consoles in one.

Wii
NES
SNES
N64
Genesis
TG-16

And coming soon for VC the Neo Geo :D

One problem with the wii that some "hard core" gamers have is that "Waaahhh too many mini game games". While it is true (Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Warioware Smooth Moves, etc.) that alot of these games exist, you don't HAVE TO BUY THEM!! The only two mini game games I own are Wii Sports (FREE!) and Wii Play (Its 10$ for the game, wii-motes cost 40$ so if you have an extra 10$ you might as well get the bundle).

Also Bolt, some old Japanese only games are getting translated into English and released on the VC for the first time, which gives hope for the original FE's to be released in english :D !

Okay, so you've tried all the games on my list and say they are not fun, and why is the VC bull shit? Because it doesn't update the games like the Xbox 360's arcade does? Since when did classics need updates?

I love how you try to figure out why I think the VC is bullshit, proceed to counter said point you made up in your mind, and then go after said point with a rebuttal.

It's bullshit because all of those games are online. For free. ROM style. And 95% of them aren't worth checking out more than for a glance. The only reason I would accept, for getting Virtual Console games, would be if you just plain cannot enjoy these games unless they are on your Wii (in the same way I can only buy a game if it has its case and instruction manual). And I barely accept that.

And who said anything about the Wii games not being fun? Some of them are sort of fun, some of them sort of really suck. None of them merit a console purchase.

That doesn't mean jack.

Just get the ROM, and once you've seen the game, go ahead and delete it if it makes you feel bad. The only reason not to go for the ROMs is if you're a self-righteous dick.

Five bucks for Super Mario Brothers? Ha. Ha. Ha.

Because people get arrested for roms ALL THE TIME, amirite guys.

Seriously, why would you buy a VC game (or an Xbox Arcade game) when you can get it for free, or even own the original?

I'm not stupid enough to pay for something twice, let alone something I can get for free any time I want it.

... Then what's the point of buying ANY GAME? There'll be roms of it anyway!

You can play Ace Attorney fine on an emulator, which will be perfected in the near future.
If you own the original, of course you won't get it. You won't pay twice - but for those who don't want to buy a new console to get it can ._.

I'd say the Wii unless you have a knack for losing the stylus (the reason I got my DS lite, they stopped stocking the original ones). As for the issue with virtual console, I think it's better than ROMS because I don't particularly enjoy ROM software with the only exception of VBA. That and the fact that you're still supporting Nintendo, unlike the illegal versions.

I don't know much about XBox I'm afraid.

Here are my opinions about the games I've played:

Wii Sports- a nice way to get used to the controls of the console
Wii Play- Free controller, which always goes down well, games vary from simple (table tennis and air hockey) to all out wacky (running over scarecrows on cows)
Twilight Princess- Spectacular work, the most beautiful adventure game by Nintendo yet.
Wario Ware- Full of the typical madness of WW. Multi-player is unlocked after completing the story mode (Mini Wario). Multiplayer includes ones where you pass the controller (bomb, survival, and one I can't remember the name of that involves hanging from ropes over a pit of crocodiles)
Sonic- Slow at first, and the controllers take a while to get used to, but once you're out of the tutorial (or Lost Prologue) it's a good game.
Cooking Mama- Nicely presented, but the controls are a bit iffy.

Games I'm looking forward to

-Super Smash Brothers Brawl- Now with Solid Snake
-Harvest Moon (what can I say? They're addictive!)
-Fire Emblem- I've never played them before, but I've heard good things about them

Pretty much what Zuddha said. If I wanted to pay for games I played ten years ago, I'd rather just toss my money in a furnace and watch it crinkle up.

Well why are you buying crap games? I've only bought games that I don't own and actually want, no one is making you spend five dollars on Xevious <.<

However some of these games are worth it, 8 dollars for Actraiser? A rare game I can't find anywhere else? 5 dollars for the original Ninja Gaiden that I never played? Sign me up! Sure roms are "free" and "illegal" but I'd rather support Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony and the 3rd parties who made these classics in hopes of modern remakes.

Also why buy a game you already own? Saying "FIVE DOLLARS FOR SMB IS OUTRAGEOUS, I ALREADY OWN IT" is crap, if you already own a game WHY WOULD YOU BUY IT AGAIN?! The only reason I can see is if it's either

A-An enhanced remake
or
B-A handheld version of a console game

I only download a VC game if it has good multiplayer value. Or if I have money left over on the account. The fact that you can only pay $10, $20, $30, or $40 is crap. What if I just want one $5 NES game!? I don't want to spend the other $5 on there.

For the same reason people bashed FFXII, FFVII, Zelda: TP, and so on and so forth. Whenever something is extremly popular, some people get a high of being the rebel who does not go with the masses :nick:

Fact: You can never please everyone, you should always try something yourself even if 99.9% of the world hates it, you may be the .1% that likes it.

I was unaware that the rather rabid, slightly irritating, and mostly under-18 'Nintendrone' crowd was the majority of anything.

I dislike the Wii for many more valid reasons than 'everyone else likes it,' and most of the others here who have detracted from it are the same.

In fact, I don't think anyone who dislikes it has NOT given some reason for their distaste.

Then again, I suppose it's hard to deal with fanboys of any color.

That's so terrible that you have convinced me to buy Virtual Console games so that they will continue to support you, the group of people born after 1989.

Wait, no I won't. Enjoy your 5 dollar roms instead of, you know, downloading them for free.

I'd go with the 360 only if you can get an upgrade to something other than core. The system is basically unplayable without the hard drive.

Go with the DS if you can't. Much more variety than the Wii, which is mostly just party games right now.
