You know that old saying, if it's in print it's not always easy to detect sarcasm.
Anyway, sometimes you have at least one kid per class that doesn't bathe. It's really gross.
Parents will make any excuse for their kids if they are special needs, at least that's the case for many. I deal with that all the time. "Oh, I want little Billy to be self sufficient, but you need to do everything for him." And you want to say to that parent that they can't have it both ways, but then they get pissed and you're the one in the principal's office. We have some parents that aren't that bad, but it's always the ones that are needy and make the most excuses that drive us the craziest and are the most memorable.
As long as everyone around the family enables them to blame the child's mental health for everything, it will continue.
