I'm kinda escaping to CR because, even though it's a website, it feels like a much quieter and friendly place to be.
And the reason is this, my fellow lawyer lovers, internet drama.
It's so pathetic. Rllly.
So, my question to all of you folks is - have you ever had bad interwebs drama? :payne:

There's drama a lot on a community I frequent on LJ. I won't go into detail, though.

If you don't mind me asking, what's LJ?

I've seen a lot of internet drama. Sadly, I could have seen more on a forum if I joined earlier. But this forum (don't wanna say its name) was going through a wee bit of drama when I joined.

Internet drama. There is no such thing. Get your mind out of the clouds you big silly.

Oh, hell yes. A bunch.
Here's a couple of examples of the makers of some of them:

audition:
self declared "e-boyfriend": hy id take thoes lace of your hshrt if i could
i hav ewet frdeams abot u
ur hott
i watn to have sxual intercourse w u

etc. etc. I took some pics of him saying that stuff (that eventually got lost.) I laughed and felt creeped out at the same time. Also he was like ten.

disney mmorpg:
another self declared "e-boyfriend":omg why have you been avoiding me?!? afusdklhdjlkh fdskl *bittersweet rage*
me:why are you stirring up drama? this is all really unnecessary.
asdeb:why do u talk smart on the internet?

needless to say, i eventually left both of these beautiful communities.
---

Course, there are stories behind these chats, but they're pretty long and convoluted and... wince inducing.

Yeah, unfortunately there can be a whole lot of drama on LJ. Most of the time I try to stay out of it, but sometimes I get caught up in it. And then it's not very fun.

You'd think people have nothing else better to do with their time that type huge comments about why you suck and why you'll get nowhere in life. I didn't even start anything this time - but I've been blamed for it all 8D JOY
I can imagine a lot of little girls getting pissy on LJ. I have an LJ stereotype in my head based off an old school mate and she used to go on it all the tiiiime. But make really ridiculous posts.

The internet

is serious

fucking

business.

So naturally, I've seen my share of drama. As long as you don't make it personal, it can be pretty entertaining.

Fandom and any place hosting fanworks (fanfiction, fanart, etc) tend to be wank breeding grounds. I've had fun taking part in some wank wars, but in my earliest years, I did make the mistake of letting some things get personal. But, live and learn and all that.

What really amazes me is the level some drama reaches. I've seen people try conning others out of money, rampant "infidelity" in internet relationships, and folks so whacked out on their own brand of wank that it seems nothing will bring them back to reality. I've actually talked to people who think that not only are video game/anime characters real, but that they're "reincarnations" of said characters. I shit you not.

The only reason I'm still on deviantART is for my friends; I'm sick of the constant drama on that site. I love how if you try to offer artistic critique on a picture, 90% of artists will get extremely offended and start attacking you. And then you have the people who request art from you, even if you flat-out say that you don't take requests. Go deviantART!

BWAHAHA!! Oh man, that game was so lame. I have no idea why I ever liked it. :p

Anyways...Drama? Generally I try to keep out of stuff like that, but before I came here there was this really gay forum where they were always like "Hey guys! Let's write fanfics!" and they got pissed off at me cuz I liked PW and I was better at arguing than them.

I was there for like 5 years, and I saw plenty of that myself. And not to mention there are A LOT of pompous asses on there who think their shit don't stink. And the trolls... Oh, god, the point before I left the site I was being trolled so badly that it basically broke the straw on the camel's back.

Yeah, people went on my page saying that my art sucked too, and I took it seriously (Hey, I was like, 14 at the time :/) and a lot of the time the DA staff would never do anything about it if you reported. And if they did they would take forever.

I had friends on DA too, but most of them either left or they turned out to be backstabbers (Whom of which I will not name) and a character thief, like one in particular I will mention.

I let this person use my fan character from another game series, and they used her in their fanfics and they did art of said character ,and made a character profile page of her on their website (I will refuse to put a link, so don't ask)

A while later this person left DA after we had butted heads (As did I, and we stopped being friends), and they deleted the character's profile and it it's place this person slandered me and said that THEY came up with ALL the ideas for the character, and acted like the character was theirs, basically.

What pissed me off even more was when the person deleted THAT page, this person created a NEW character that looked EXACTLY like my character! She even had the same personality, and the only difference was that her hair was longer and wore a different outfit.

So, in short, I hate DeviantArt with a passion. :yogi: I can't believe I wasted 5 years of my life on there.

Roiworld has a shit ton of "drama". It used to be a fun Korean dress up game site until Lifetime bought it and ruined the site so hard. Now it's filled with buttloads of whiny and beyond dumb preteen girls who go batshit if you don't like Twilight, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, or if you don't like talking about things nobody cares about or that are nobody's business. I usually will make some snide remarks here and there, but I never really started anything too major. I'm not really fond of trolling.

Sadly to say, 98% of all the internet drama I've experienced has happened here, seeing as this is the first forums I've ever been frequenting.

The other 2% was on Facebook during a flame war which I actually won.

I've seen my fair share of internet drama on this site, but I don't recall ever actually arguing with someone for a noteworthy time. As a hardcore pacifist, I'll settle dramas before they escalate into a huge flame war.

To answer the question, yes. Some of the times I've participated in it, on extremely rare occasions I've actually started it. I was young and stupid. Meh.

I honestly try to stay out of it all, because there's never anything to gain for anyone. It's retarded to see, especially because a lot of these things stem from petty issues and rumors, in which those two people that started the drama then ask for THEIR friends to back them up on their claims.

It's on every message board, every chatroom, every fandom..heck there doesn't even NEED to be fandom, just a bunch of guys and girls who share one common interest but have completely different and conflicting personalities. It also doesn't matter if "it's the internet lol" because it's still, in a nutshell, a bunch of kids arguing about a bunch of bullshit.

I can't name it, 'cos it's bad advertisement.

God, there is no community without drama. Ego-fights or troll fests, they are all over the Interwebz.
This site had a few, but it's nothing you can't laugh at.
