I'm not fond of the anime at all, but the games while repetative are relentlessly addictive. I've been mulling over getting Diamond or Pearl for some time.

I was a total fan of the Pokemon anime series when I was like, 7, but the new eppies are just bleh. I miss Misty ;_; And my brothers and I always debated whether Brock had eyes or not (even if he didn't, I'd still love him... but when will he give up the womanizing--*shot* *answers own question* when it finally works out, I'd say). But on a different viewpoint, how cool would it be to voice Team Rocket in the dub? I mean, maybe I have a totally wrong idea about this, but I would think that since Team Rocket does alot of joking and such (and I would believe that in the Japanese version, some of those jokes can't be translated verbatum), I'd say maybe it's possible they do alot of ad-libbing? That would be an awesome job, I'd say.

But on another note, I watched an episode yesterday cuz my bro's still obsessed with it and HOW STUPID CAN ASH GET?! When Team Rocket appeared this time, they only wore a robe over themselves and glasses. THE R ON THEIR SHIRT WAS PLAINLY VISIBLE, YET ASH WAS JUST LIKE "DURR WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?" yeah, I'll go away now, I'm sleepy...

This is freaking hilarious.

But yeah um...finally they depicted a good team in the anime. They like made freaking Saturn so badass that he doesn't talk when he battles. Like he just pwns thing as people are doing some other things. Pretty much it's all "blabblblabla" and then he goes all "NO U *pwns*". Though he kept whoring that sludge attack...

Oh and they're trying hard to make Paul more of a dick in the dub.

"That trainer with the Pikachu? The one who always uses Volt Tackle?"
"Yeah, I knew YOU'D like him..."

Man, never thought I'd find myself here!

Games: Pokemon Blue is the only one I've ever played, but I played it hard back in the day! (No, I didn't catch 'em all, but I came pretty dang close!) I had great fun with it too! I lost interest after the first generation, though, because it seemed to me like everything afterward was mostly more of the same (more of the same elements, more of the same species, etc.). I know they innovated and refined over the years, but it just wasn't enough for me.

Anime: Just some days ago I was looking for the original (1st season) theme on YouTube because I had remembered really liking it. That was all it took for the show to recapture my imagination (it's why I'm posting here, really). The first three seasons had lots of really priceless moments, and the relationship between Ash, Misty, and Brock will never be bettered. For that matter, the interplay between those three and Team Rocket stands apart too. I'm sure you all remember, but it wasn't long into the 1st season before the two groups were as likely to cooperate (for various reasons) as to fight. Ah, good old Jessie and James (and Meowth).

Just for fun, here are some of those priceless moments (yes, two of them are not from the first three seasons):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuBefhp5aNg&feature=related Funniest Pokemon moment ever!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtHsEDNVM8w&feature=rec-LGOUT-real_rev-rn-4r-7-HM Misty's a girl?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYQk-QZUDRs&feature=related Ash and Brock get shameless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAH5A17XDQM&feature=related Brock hitting on Officer Jenny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ8ZOnTUMeU Ash's secret method for bending spoons.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRjFamaEVyk&feature=related Ash is CLUELESS!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGCbx8W_R-A&feature=related May drives Ash insane.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2dlH7AEAVs&feature=related Brock's day has come!

And now for the "edited" classics:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2R-Tz-rCXU&NR=1 Ash's underwear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzizn2ariHo&feature=related Pokemon: Men in Tights.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRO8H8QIdck&feature=fvw The Greatest Love: Pikachu and ketchup.

I've got some more serious/romantic stuff, but only if anyone's interested.

Probably because rocket-launchers and tanks are considered "cartoony" but actual guns are more "realistic"?

I never understood why 4Kids censored stuff like guns or violence to begin with.

Hell, I remember classic Looney Tunes having more violence than that. Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam both carried guns, and our parents had no problems with us watching them.

I hereby invoke the Moral Guardian issue AND the Animation Age Ghetto. People in the west assume that cartoons are merely "for kids", so "logically", any dub of an anime is immediately assumed to be "for kids". Along came the Moral Guardians who had issues with the large amounts of violence, presuming that could "corrupt our children" to do horrible acts that can be imitated.

Perhaps the only reason why 4Kids banned the gun episode was because they couldn't yet invoke Where Did They Get Lasers effectively.

Though I never understood how lasers and rockets are A-OK, despite the fact that they cause a hell of a lot more damage than bullets do. Probably because of the old Dynamite gag of the characters being covered in soot, and again for the fact that it can't easily be imitated.

I was a big fan of the show when I was a kid. The first couple seasons are great. In my opinion, the show sucked after Johto. I think it's just a LITTLE depressing to watch Ash suck and never become the master over and over again as he travels with his flavor of the month babe.

And oh God, the voice actors they use now...*shudder*
Ash and Brock sound atrocious.

I've got one word for why that is: Misty. No, I'm not biased!

Jacques Portsman wrote:

Well, you know, how else can they keep the show going forever and ever? I kid, of course. One day, it will end. My only condition is that there had better be some kissing before it's all over. (I'm sure my previous comment makes clear exactly what I mean. :hotti: But just to take it a step further, Team Rocket needs to be included too! :gant:)

Jacques Portsman wrote:

I think they're tolerable. I definitely like the old voices better, but the new ones aren't too terrible (although Brock sounds like some action movie reject when he's excited :Hoboright:).

Jessie sounds more or less the same, even if her voice actor is different, but James...that's not James! Give us back Eric Stuart (who, incidentally, also voiced Brock), NOW! :zenitora:

As long as I'm busy ranting, none of the opening themes have been that good since the first two, and Team Rocket's new motto SUCKS!

I was a fanatic over the series up until the Advanced season. It's not that I hated it, it's that the Pokemon fad died for me because my friends started becoming more in to Yu-gi-Oh. My love for Pokemon was rekindled after playing Diamond and I started watching the series again. Honestly guys, the new episodes aren't bad at all. I think I'm the only one who doesn't mind the voice actors or even the story or the episodes or anything like that. It's all about the Pokemanz and watching them battle and listening to awesome remixes of game music.

I also have no objections over the number of Pokemon movies, sure there's 12 with a 13th on its way, but they're great excuses to get event Pokemon like Darkrai, Deoxys, and even ARCEUS!

Dawn is my favorite female sidekick for Ash, she's kinder than Misty, sexier than May, and she even shares so much in common with Ash! Pearlshipping forever!

That said though, the series has only VERY recently started to disgust me...

On a completely different note, I just thought of something great. Suppose Gant returned in a future GS game, along with Kristoph (see here to understand where that came from). Well, here's my take on their team motto:

I haven't seen any Pokemon in ages, though. I have no idea who these May and Dawn people that you keep mentioning are. Does Misty go away? The arc where they replaced Brock was just painful. I can't even imagine a Misty replacement. :maggy:

Fun fact because the emote reminded me: I'm in a whole bunch of pokemon group cosplay photos because people kept seeing me in my Maggey costume and thinking I was Officer Jenny. I played along. :maggy:

Yes, she was a bitchy snob in the beginning, who only tagged along with Ash because he wanted him to repay her for destroying her bike. But as the series progressed, she began to warm up to Ash and support him. She even forgot about the whole bike incident much later in the series. I find the fact that she went from a snob to caring close friend an interesting part of a character. Now, whether she had a crush on Ash or not is all fan speculation.

Oh it's evidence alright. I'm a Misty and Ash fan myself, but seeing how the creators have said Misty won't return as a main character anymore, you've gotta wonder what exactly their intentions were.
I mean, there were signs of Misty getting jealous whenever a girl came on to Ash. And that episode where that guy wanted Misty to stay with him during the Orange Island arc, and she decided to stick with Ash. So why would the writers throw those subtle hints in there, and cast Misty off to the side?
Basically, the hints are there, but whether it's considered canon or not is for the fans to decide.

Personally, I'd love to see Misty show up in Diamond and Pearl wearing her HG/SS outfit and hairstyle :3

Just wait for the series finale, that's all I gotta say. Just wait for the series finale, and then we'll see what's what!

I'd be happy with her showing up PERIOD. You're right, though, that is a nice outfit. :hobohodo:

Now, whether she had a crush on Ash or not is all fan speculation.

So nothing hinted at within the show counts as evidence? Serious question.

Apparently Misty wasn't popular, so they axed her so that they can make room for more popular characters. It's the same reason why they brought Brock back.

I honestly thought it had something to do with her Japanese VA's availability or something though I could be wrong. It's just what I remember reading off of somewhere.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.
