The Credable Paranormal Investigation Office, convienently located three blocks from the Indochine pasta restaraunt, Alden Tai. If ever you are troubled with unknown disturbances in the night, or witness a true metalphysical rendition of a departed being, then do not hesitated to come down to the CPIO. Our staff (...currently of one) will help you in any way we can. We're ready to believe, are you?

Okay, pure and simple, this is a paranormal RPG set in the Ace Attorney universe. We will investigate cases of hauntings, possessions, and other such paranormal activities. Anyone is welcome to join, I only request that you follow the rules of this boards.

Name: Xi-Feng Hua
Age: 19

She stands at approximately 5'1". Most of her sandy-colored hair is cropped above her shoulders with the exception of a thin layer that she usually pulls into a small ponytail and rests over a shoulder. She is most frequently seen wearing a teal colored Qipao featuring a pheonix design, and a jade bracelet.
Xi-Feng occassionally wears a small belt with a pouch in the back, used to store little trinklets and a pair of black gloves.
Occupation: University Student - Studying to become a biology major
Bio: A young woman with a quiet disposition. She frequently comes off as "coolly polite" upon the initial meeting, seeming to prefer keeping herself at a distance from others. However, after spending some time with her, it will quickly be apparent that Xi-Feng is, in reality, a passionate - if not a little hot-headed - young woman with high moral standards. She hates it when people lie, harm others, or break the rules in one way or another. However, despite her morals, she is a bit of a hypocrite as she will not hesitant to use physical violence if she deems it necessary (thus the gloves she sometimes carries around in a pouch).
She moved from her birth country - Zheng Fa - when she was 17 years old with the intention of getting into her first-choice university overseas, leaving behind her family. She spent her last year of high school in this new country, managing to get into the university she had been striving for.
However, upon moving into her dorm room, she had begun to notice strange occurances. They started out small - little things moving, though she initially thought that she had merely misplaced them - but eventually escalated to loud slamming noises in the middle of the night. Having already received complaints from the students in the neighboring rooms, and growing increasingly more concerned, Xi-Feng finally decided something had to be done and went to seek help from CPIO.

OOC: Whenever you wish. I will be setting all profiles into the first post for reference, as well as a summary if this gets big. (I highly doubt it)

Benjamin Jacobb Credable, a self proclaimed professional ghost hunter and part time investigator, stared across the cluttered mess of his office with a rather dissinterest espression. Ever since he got the lease to this office, Ben worked tirelessly setting up shop for his own business. Though with blood, sweat, and tears he managed to shape up the place, there has not been one single client to call.

"I blame the newsprint," he muttered to himself, glancing over at the week old ad he posted in the news. "Wasn't even worth the ten bucks I put to it." He sighed, leaning back in his chair and adjusting his goggles. "If someone doesn't show, I won't make the rent for next month. Just my luck, starting a business and filing bankruptcy the very first month."

Char glanced at her watch and then at the building in front of her. So this was the PI office that she saw in the newspaper, she thought. Looks ordinary, though. Turning the knob on the door, she opened it and walked in, checking the directory for the address. Taking the stairs, Char saw the door, and knocked.

Ben fell back in his chair, exclaiming as a knock came to the door. He toppled over, sending his wastebasket flying off into the floor. He groaned, dragging himself up to his feet and rubbing the base of his neck. Was the rent collector here already, he thought. But it's not even Tuesday. He gathered himself, dusting his blue jacket as he eased his way through the scraps of paper and gadgets cluttering his office.

He turned the knob, opening it slightly to speak to whoever it was sent to collect the rent. "Listen, I know its close to being due, but could you try back next week. I'm in a little bind at the moment...." he paused when he notice the girl he was speaking to was not any rent collector he knew of. "Um...sorry, thought you were someone else," he apologized, undoing the latch to his door. "Please, please come in."

Could it be...my very first client?! He thought with excitement.

OOC: franini, I welcome you, but I must ask that you redo your profile. While I've no problem if your character is related in any way with the canons, the profile would not fit within the timeframe. It is my fault for not indicating this and therefore I will edit this into my first post.

Again?, Ben thought. Has he met this woman before? No, couldn't be. I'd reconise any client that came here. And see as she is the very first one...well I don't have much of a list to go by. She had read his ad in the paper though, so that means something. He showed her in, allowing her the chair in front of his desk.

Pulling up the chair he tipped over, he sat down, grabbing a sheet of paper and pen. "Well, ma'me you've come to the right person. Benjamin Credable, Paranormal Investigator, at your service. Now please, tell me the troubles that aile you."

He sort of doubts he'll be able to find anything, though. "By the way," he began, as he got up to grab the DVD player and TV. So it was less than a week ago, he thought. He placed the DVD in and pressed play. "Now if you could," Ben stated, watching the TV monitor carefully. "point out where the poltergeist is in the footage." He still was not sure that they would find anything.

Interesting, Ben thought as he studied the area. The lady knows of coldspots and how it was related to a possible paranormal activity. Not to mention she had an infered camera as well. "Indeed, it seems to be a coldspot. Though I must be truthful, a single coldspot doesn't nessesarily mean it could be a poltergeist."

He rubbed his chin, studying the shape of the coldspot. It does appear slightly human in shape, so it could be probable. "Well, ma'am. I do have a free schedule for the rest of the day, so I'm more than happy to look into this for you...I'm sorry, I never asked for your name, Miss..."

Susie stood outside in the pouring rain, shivering from the low temperature. She buckled her cream trench coat tighter and wrapped her arms around herself, already showing signs of yet another cold. Great, just great. I come in to ask for a position and I'll be sneezing all over my potential boss. And I wanted to ask him about that, too...
"Don't worry, Susie. Everything will be fine. He'll like you," See, I'm still hearing his voice...is there something wrong me? And I swear I just saw him, too... Sighing, she looked up at the seemingly generic office and stepped into the foyer. She saw the investigator already deep in conversation with another lady, steeled herself to not walk straight back out again and sat down in a comfy leather chair, waiting patiently.

"Very well then, Char," Ben said, shaking her hand. "I might take you up on the offer." He glance out the window and realised it was raining. Great, the only time I've forgotten my umbrella AND waterproof jacket! "We may want to hurry before it gets...." he paused mid sentence when he noticed another lady sitting down on his couch. Another client? Already? It can't be right....wait...there was something...GAH!!

Ben nearly fell over in his chair as he'd just remember he was to speak with a girl about employment. "Miss Styx, please excuse me," he stated rather rapidly, pulling open a drawer and rummaging through a mess of papers. "I just need to do something before we head off. It'll only be a moment!" He pulled out the file, with the lady's name. Susannah Ashe. Yes that was it. He recalled recieving a phonecall from her for a job application here. He'd assumed it was just a joke call, but filed the information she gave anyway. Guess it wasn't a joke after all.

He walked over to Susannah, putting on a warm smile. "Welcome, Miss Ashe, I assume? You must be here for the job application, correct?"

Upon hearing this, Susie's face darkened slightly.
"Mr Credable. There is a...personal reason for my appliance to this office. One that you will find out soon enough. But at the moment... I may only say that the reason I sit here before you is to further my understanding of the paranormal... to experience the true paranormal world. I have a question that needs to be answered. I cannot delay it any longer. And on the topic of this, Mr Credable..." Susie paused a moment "...from the look on your face I can guess your question - Why is a girl who majored in music with an A* here for the job? - well, I'll answer it. Music to me is a passion, yes. But there is a difference between an indulgent passion and wanting to do something every day, all day... do you understand me?"

Char shrugged and put on her jacket before leaving. Then, she remembered something.

"Oh, yes, one more thing, Mr. Credable, was it? Can you keep this envelope for me until after your current case is done?" Char took out a thin tan envelope and put it on his desk. "See you later for lunch then." She left, and walked out into the storm that was brewing.

This girl is good, Ben thought, turning his attention back to Susie. But then again Attey always told me I was too easy to read. "That's reasonable." So she has a personal reason for applying. He understood completely why she would want to learn more. "I must warn you, though, Susie. A paranormal investigator is not an easy occupation. First and formost we never take ghost sightings at face values. We always look at more plausible of such situations before we could lable them paranormal. There are also those out there that would call us frauds, and would do anything to make it so to their benefits. But," he placed great enfasis on 'but'. "We never go back on our word. If you are willing to bear the ridicule of the scientific society, then I welcome you to the PI crew."

Char walked home and unlocked her door. She groaned as she noticed that one of the vases fell over, scattering pieces of porcelain all over the place. Grateful that she had checked the weather earlier that day, the young woman shut her umbrella and shook it out as she reached the office. Pushing the door open, she peered in with a hint of hesitation. "Pardon me..."

Slipping in, she noticed that a pair was already engaged in conversation. The investigator and...someone else? A client? A co-worker? Xi-Feng had to admit that she hadn't done that much research on this business - frankly, she had just been desperate to resolve what was going on in her dorm room.

She gave a small dip of her head in acknowledgement to the pair speaking before sitting down, allowing her gaze to drift around the office as she waited. In all honestly, she was a little doubtful that - if whatever was occuring in her room was a spirit - they could do anything about it, but the last thing she wanted was for more people to file complaints, which would eventually result in her getting kicked out of her room.

"Yes, her name is Charlette Styx," Ben stated. "Our first client for the office actually. She says that there are poltergeist activities within her appartment." He did not need to mention the again part since it wasn't important right then. "She brought proof of such activities and indeed I think it warrants further investigation. So..." he glanced down at his watch. "...seeing as how it will be close to lunch time, I'd suggest we head down to he appartment." He stood, ready to leave, until he saw yet another girl had come into his office. Another one? Either I'm getting lucky with business or it's the Day of the Dead! He checked his callender to make sure. Nope, not even November.

He sat back down before the girl, quickly taking note of her outfit. Hmm, fashion's not from here, I take it. Possibly from Zeng-fa by the looks of it. Better leave it be for now. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, miss. Welcome to the Credable Paranormal Investigation Office. How may I help you?"

When Ben sat down before her, Xi-Feng offered what could have been considered an attempt at a smile. It was clear that smiling wasn't something she was particularly comfortable with, as it disappeared from her face a moment after. "Not at all," She said dismissively, waving her hand, "I wasn't waiting long at all."

She hesitated at his question, glancing at him for a moment before her gaze flickered away. "I've been having...problems." She admitted finally, looking everywhere but where he sat, "Problems with my new dorm room. It started with little things going missing, but now I've started to hear things at night. Slamming sounds, murmurs, my flower vases throwing themselves into a wall and shattering..." She cringed at this bit - she had brought those vases from Zheng Fa, and they had been expensive.

Finally, she turned her eyes back on Ben, clasping her hands in her lap as she stared at him seriously. "There have already been complaints from the neighbouring dorm rooms. At this rate, I may get kicked out if this chaos continues. Furthermore I...I've become rather uneasy." Xi-Feng shifted uncomfortably, suddenly looking a lot meeker, "It started out rather mild, but it has been getting progressively worse. If it were to get outright violent, I..." She trailed off. While she would never want to admit it, she was frightened - possibly even terrified. There wasn't much that unnerved her. Punks on the street? She would just punch them and get it over with, but with something like this - something that you couldn't even see, never mind touch...

Xi-Feng grimaced.

Ben folded his hands, resting his chin upon them as he listen to her problem. He understood quite well that events like this would be unnerving to say the least. From what she described, this could be a simple class of haunting. However, he would need to look into this in detail before stating that the ghost could be hostile. "I understand, miss. From what I can guess, you have a Class 3, "Unaware Spectre", as I would assume. These ghost perhaps do not realise they are dead, clinging to anything they had in life. Sometimes when the living dissrupts their "territory" they become agitated, and try to chase away those who disrupts them." He figures that Char's appartment could be the same case senario as well. "I will look into the dorm this evening, miss. Before that I do have another appointment to keep."

Paige held on to her umbrella as the rain grew stronger. She was heading to the Credable Paranormal Investigations Office, which she had found in the newspaper. She had always liked mysteries, and she thought that a paranormal investigation would be the next up-and-coming, exciting story for the news. "This is it," she murmured as she closed her umbrella and stepped inside the building. She mumbled, "This was more simple than expected, but if this is a real P.I. office..." She then went up the stairs to a door and knocked thrice, waiting eagerly for a response.

Xi-Feng listened intently, furrowing her brows in confusion as he spoke. "There are...different classes?" It was clear that she hadn't done any initial research before trying to enlist the investigator's help. However, his description of the said spirit seemed to match what she would assume was invading her dorm room as she nodded faintly. "Chase away..." She repeated, biting down on her bottom lip, "I presume that it will get worse, then? It really was just little things at first, but it looks like it has started to resort to more physical means as of late."

The corner of her mouth quirked upwards in a small smile and she gave a little bow of her head. "I would truly appreciate if you could look into it for me," She admittedly gratefully, "I have no problem with waiting. I suppose that I'll just...avoid my dorm room until then." Digging into a pouch attached to her belt, she drew out a small notepad and a pen. After a moment of scribbling, she tore the paper free and held it out.

"I probably should have introduced myself sooner, but my name is Xi-Feng Hua. This is my cell phone number, so please feel free to give me a call when you're coming over or if something comes up." She turned to look at the door when someone knocked, before turning back to the man with a wry smile. "It looks like you're busy, so I won't keep you any longer. We can discuss business later." She suddenly froze, looking a little anxious, "Though, about payment...how much is it, exactly?"

He really should have mention the classes were actually his own way of identifying haunting types. He was about to when another knock came at the door. Good lord, it must be the rain! Ghosts don't want to catch a cold it seems. He smiled, taking the note from Xi-Feng. "Of coarse, Ms. Chhhhuuaah..." he hesitated, feeling embarased by not pronouncing her name correctly. "Sorry, I have trouble with anunciations. I will give you a call this evening. As for payment...well, we work it out when the time comes, of coarse. Now if you will excuse me."

He went over to the door, sighing a little. All these calls at once, I'm starting to feel suffocated! He opened the door and stared upon the face of yet another woman. I REALLY shouldn't have place my photo in the ads, he grimaced. ...not that I should complain or anything. "Welcome to the Credable Paranormal Investigation Office, my dear. How may I be of assistance?"

Paige smiled in a professional way, as she was greeted by Mr. Credible, or at least, that was who she thought he was as there were no other men in the room. Stepping into the office, she introduced herself, saying, "My name is Paige N. Penn. I am a journalist for the Inquirer, and a news reporter as well. You are, I presume, Mr. Ben Credable, paranormal investigator, are you not?"

A journalist? Here?! Ben could hardly hold in his excitement. With someone to cover his first case, he was sure to make a big name throughout the city. Regaining his composure, he nodded. "Yes, Ms. Penn, but you may call me Ben. And this is..." he waved over to Susie. "Is my rescently hired assistant, Ms. Susannah Ashe. And the other young lady here is Ms....er..." he hesitated again, remembering how he misspronounced it last time. "....Ms. Hua?" He quickly turned back to Paige. "Anyway, I find it very honorable that you would want to do a story upon my business, seeing as how I've recently open."

Paige nodded at the two ladies with a pleasant smile, and turned her attention back to the investigator. When he had finished, she said, "I see. This coverage will benefit both of us, then. Your business will gain popularity, and I, an exciting news story, considering that these paranormal investigations are not hoaxes." She then leaned back in the guest seat, and continued. "I need a few details, though, to start," she said, bringing out a notepad and pen. "First of all, why did you pursue this interest and business?"

"Well, Ms. Penn," Ben started. "You could say that I had a keen interest for the supernatural when I was a young lad, back when I was seven. I'd remember my friend Attey and I would venture out at night into an abandon building, with a tape recorder and flashlights, tryings to capture 'white noises' as it was called. My childhood dream became a foundation, you could say, for building the beginning of my career. It was a meer hobby for me back then." He pause a moment, frowning at the recalled memories. "I was not motivated to make it a life long career until I was ten years of age." He paused again, rubbing his nose. "You'll have to forgive me, but I cannot speak of it in detail...let's just say, my becoming a Paranormal Investigator was for a friend in need."
