Franziska grew a roguish smile as Howl ranted; she loved how her presence affected the man. Crossing her silk-veiled arms, Franziska tilted her head back and looked disdainfully down her nose. "Ha. Someone's life appears shambolic, no?" She brought her chin parallel with the ground, her icy, blue hair following along perfectly. "Not that I expected anything less of course, Mr. Howl Ingmune. You always were a bit... muddled."

She fiddled the fall of her whip, admiring the exquisitely-braided leather. "Actually, I was headed back to my office for lunch. If.... either of you would care to join me, its not like I have anything better to do. Perhaps my finely-tuned mind can be of some help with your current case?” Perfectly-plucked eyebrows raised, Franziska glanced from Howl to Sheila, and then back to Howl.

He sighed. "Why not... guess it wouldn't hurt to have some comic relief on the team." He stood up, making his height obvious over Franziska. "And if it cares to your mind, I do have a certain five-lettered word for you." He readjusted his eye patch. "And muddled is such a bland word; nothing for my taste. Maybe you need to dig deeper into that small head of yours; something other than for that cursed whip of yours." He turned to Sheila with a normal glance. "I'm fine as long as Sheila's fine with it. And since you have history with a certain blue protagonist... you may actually become handy for once in your life, Franny." He laughed, his voice heavy and deep.

Sheila had to think a minute. It was Howl's approval or disapproval that would make or break it with her, and he seemed fine with it...
But they fight. All the time!
"I'm fine with it," Sheila announced.
But...
Franziska knows the man with the item we seek. She is probably the most intimidating person I know, so chances are my brother won't try anything when we leave with her. So what if they fight? She'll be of enough use to make up for it.
She stood up and placed herself between Franziska and Howl.
"So, let's go, shall we?"

"Comi-!" Franziska bit her tongue and sharply turned her head to the side before any more of her anger escaped. Instead, all the recognition Howl received from the proseutor was a cold glare and a agonizing flog of her whip. Satisfied, she turned to Sheila and nodded her head slightly.

"Very well." Franziska re-coiled her whip and started walking towards the room's exit, assuming the others would follow. "I'll expect a full outline of the case up to this point on the way to my office. We will use my car, and I will drive." Franziska stopped mid-stride, not quite to the door, and turned her head to face Howl. She squinted her eyes. "Is that okay with you?"

Howl, once again, was felled to Franziska's whip. He laughed, more than wincing, before rubbing the contact points on his chest. "Couple questions slash statements. One, Which case file do you want? We have three that we are surprisingly keeping track with. B, You seriously need to get a back bone and drop the whip; no one is going to take you seriously except for a ringmaster at a circus, which I believe you have run away from," He cleared his throat, grin present. "and D. you do know what they say about insulting girls towards guys." Howl walked closer to Franziska, and stood in a quick silence. "If you love me, why don't you just tell me? I'll dump you anyway, but go ahead; I knew you had it for me." He laughed; silently and to himself, but he was laughing.

Wide-eyed, Franziska gave Howl a disgusted once-over before taking a few steps back and adopting a smug stance. "Foolishly foolish fool foolishly dreaming foolish fantasies perfectly befitting a foolish fool such as yourself. Now I understand why American marrages have such a low sucess rate; males assume female agression is a sign of sexual desire. Hmph. How foolish." Switching stances, Franziska let out her whip and spread her feet shoulder-width apart. She flipped her silver bangs out of her face, staring holes into Howl.  "Well let me tell you, Mr. Howl Ingmune. Things are percieved a bit different in Germany!" *whip* *whip* *whip* *whip*

Quickly coiling her weapon, she "handed" it off to Sheila, practically shoving it in the woman's stomach. Franziska tore off her leather glove and slapped Howl upside the head. Satisfied, she daintily slipped her glove back on her hand. "That ought to teach you, fool."

Spinning around on her heel, Franziska strutted back over to Sheila. She gave a slight nod, regaining possession of her whip. "I do believe it's time for lunch. Shall we?"

Sheila stood still, numb to what she was seeing, Franziska whipping and slapping Howl...She wanted to step in and stop her, but then she was terrified to move. It was like she was a child again...
No, stop thinking about that... Sheila thought, forcing herself back to her senses to see that he had the whip. "What the...?" Then, Franziska casually walked over and grabbed her whip back.
"Shall we?" Sheila gaped for a moment, then turned to Howl.
"Um...Are you okay?" she asked, concerned, as she reached for a towel or something to help clean up, at least. How could she even let Franziska do that?

Howl stood dazed, trying to recapture his thoughts after the hurricane of pain passed over. He conducted an instant pain check: Head, neck, chest, both arms, lower areas... yeah, he knew it was about to hurt all at once; the anflactinism from that crash only delayed the brain's pain tolerance. The pain slowly crept to his head, till he lost his train of conscience. He was swept with the Earth's natural gravity, and collapsed onto the floor; the only spot in the room that he could locate. He blinked only seeing light spots everywhere, and knew he was felled by Franziska. "Holy sheez... did she have a barbel at the end of that thing?!" He tried to form words in attempt to question what had happened, but all that was audible was a series of quiet moans and stutters.

"Howl?"
Sheila squatted down in front of the moaning, stuttering prosecutor. She looked up at Franziska. "You went too far." She turned her attention back to Howl.
"Can you hear me?"

Howl slowly moved his head in a small nodding motion, and ceased movement. "I... think I... hurt." His head began throbbing, his brain obviously received the message that Franziska wanted to pull across. Behind all of this, Howl found this entire situation... humorous. He cracked a small, almost insane smile as he began to follow the dots with his eyes. "Wow..."

((Oh well, time to continue))

Without waiting for a reply, Zed started counting: "Three, two, one... now!"
The two stood up and faced the killers. There were 3 of them, one woman included.
"Police! Freeze!" said Zed, trying to seem convincing. The two men, unarmed, immediately turned direction and headed for the other side, where Bobobo was waiting, while the woman held up a gun and shot right between the two, who instinctively ducked. When they rose again, the woman was heading there too.
Zed then ducked again and pretended he had been shot, so that the killers could think they weren't going to be stopped on the other side.
He then whispered: "We should stay here or else they'll hear or see us going to the other side. I'll go there as soon as I hear some action, you stay here just to make sure they don't go back to this side again."

((Sorry if Zed seems to be doing all the action, now that Portia is inactive :yuusaku: ))

Bobobo sprang from the vent in front of the targets,"Super fist of the nosehairs!" his nosehair cracked as he slapped them down knocking them to their feet.
"You've got a ways to go before you mess with this fro!"

"You went too far."

Those words stuck in Franziska's head as she stared at the now-incapacitated prosecutor lying on the ground. Franziska knew she went overboard his time. Though, it certainly wasn't the first occassion it had happened, and she knew it was far from the last. Conventionally, she was in control of her emotions. However, every once in a while, emotions controled her. In Franziska's mind, Howl Ingmune deserved what he got; it's not like she killed him. Hmph. Yet. She thought. Suddenly, a small smirk appeared on Howl's face, and Franziska immediately forgot any feelings of guilt. Foolish fool foolishly attempting to fool us as if we were tomfools! Franziska had to bite her tongue to supress her outburst. Instead, she nudged his knees with her boot by giving him a few small pushes. "Come on now, get up. You're not in that much pain; your foolish grin gives everything away." She gave him a few more nudges, this time to his shoulder. "I said stand up!"

Sheila crawled so she was once again between Howl and Franziska.
"Nudging him and shouting at him won't help," she said. "So, I'll ask you nicely..." She looked up at Franziska. "Please step away from Howl." She glared at Franziska, one that was usually reserved for disorderly witnesses. Control yourself. She then glanced around and smiled pleasantly as she looked Franziska in the eye again. "It seems I have left my wheelchair just out of arm's reach. Would you mind bringing it to me?" She then turned to Howl. "As for you, Howl, I know you hurt, but could you lift either of your arms for me? Even the slightest bit will do."

Howl fazed back to his natural self. He not only lifted his hand to rub his head, he slowly stood back up, brushing the back parts of his shoulders. "Let that be a first-ending moment; do not expect a duplicate." He looked to Sheila with his rare, reassuring glance. "I'm fine... I just tend to hit harder... as you know; the bigger they are, the harder they fall." He laughed, readjusting his eyepatch while straightening his glance towards Franziska. With nothing to say but silence itself, the relationship between the two prosecutors grew only thornier. He walked over and retrieved Sheila's wheelchair, and rolled it over to Sheila. "Would you like some help? I can pick you up if needed." He held out his hand, allowing extra leverage if needed.

"Well, if you say so..." Sheila responded. She then chuckled slightly. The guy survived a motorcycle crash. A few whiplashes were nothing...Right?
"Ah, thank you, Howl," she said as he rolled the chair over. She then looked from the chair to Howl's outstretched hand and chuckled again. Just moments ago, she was going to do the same for him.
"Yes, actually, I think I could use some help." She casually reached out and took Howl's hand.

As Sheila took his hand, he help hoist her back into her wheelchair, exhaling relief. He spun around, his attention on the door. "Now, as we had planned; where should we go for lunch? I've heard of this expensive, fancy place called 'Tres Bien'. If it's expensive, it's gotta be good, right?" He rubbed the back of his neck. He really didn't know much about the place, except it's name was French for something... or was it German?

((Yes I know it's French))

" 'Tres bien' is French, you idiot." Franziska threw herself in front of Howl and opened the door. She stepped aside so as to let Sheila pass through, unmolested. She then stepped into the hallway. "I hear the food there is disgusting and riduculosuly over-priced. However," Franziska began to walk, looking back to make sure the other two were following her, "if that's truly where you two want to go, I suppose I can make due. My car is out in the parking lot." Franziska continued walking until she reached the doors to the detention center. From there, you could clearly see where Franziska had parked. She reached in her bag to pull out her keys, then pressed a button to unlock her car.

*beep*

Today was her chauffeur's day off, so Franziska drove herself around in her black, 2020 BMW 16 series. ((Of course, taken from the current 2009 BMW 3 series ^_^)) It was an SUV, so there was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably. Franziska walked around the car, opening the two rear doors so as to subtly show Howl and Sheila where to sit. The interior of her car was beige, and the seats were patent leather with black accents. The windows were all shaded, so you could see out, but no one could see in. Dangling from her rear view mirror, Franziska had two, miniature black and white dice. When the doors were open, Franziska went up to Sheila. "I am assuming we can put your wheelchair in the back for transport, correct? You are able to get in and out of the car?"

((If anyone has any objections to being in the parking lot at this time, please let me know. I can go back and edit.))

Howl stood silent beside the van, awaiting Sheila's removal from her chair to help her up. A lift on the van would have been nice... but he just got over the last whipping; another was not needed.

"Yes, I'm able to get in and out of the car," Sheila replied. She smiled. "With a little help, of course. I guess I'd be fine without help, but things would move a little quicker if I had some." On that note, she extended her arm, waiting for either Howl or Franziska to lift her out, calculating a solution in case they didn't.

Rose, hearing that they left the area, crept out of the cramped closet, almost tripping from a cable in the dark room. She followed them to the parking lot, and saw Sheila in her wheel chair with Franziska and Howl nearby. Rose then approached the group, as she did not need to hide, or at least for now. "Bonjour, my friends," she then greeted them. "May I join in?"

"Very good. Howl Ingmune, I want you to put this wheelchair in the back of the car." Franziska outstretched her hand and grabbed Sheila's. She then wrapped Sheila's arm around her shoulders and carefully helped Sheila walk over to the open door. She slowly rotated herself until Sheila was positioned in front of the door.

Just as Franziska let go of Sheila, a familiar voice caught her attention.

"Bonjour, my friends. May I join in?"

Her head jolted towards the voice, and immediately recognized the orator as Rose Thornebush. The last time Franziska remembered conversing with her was when Howl and Sheila were in the doctors office. "Ah. Ms. Rose Thornebush." She gave Rose a once-over with her eyes before continuing. "It's been a mini-eternity since I've seen you last." I can't find a reason to say no to Rose joining in... She looked at the rest of her entourage to see if there were any objections. "Assuming no protests from the cortége, I'd say you could get in the car. We're heading to...." She looked back a Howl, hoping he would say the name of the restaurant. .... ah! Tres Bien. She shot her head back to Rose. "To 'Tres Bien'. Are you familiar with it?" Franziska walked around to the other side of her car as she spoke, hoping Rose would follow. "You may sit over here." Franziska extended her gloved hand towards the open seat next to Sheila.

((Oh dear; that leaves the only open seat for Howl the passenger's seat. Next to Franziska. This should be fun..... ^_^))

Rose turned her attention to Franziska, who responded first to her greeting. "Ah, Ms. Rose Thornebush," the "Prodigy" greeted as she examined Rose with her unnerving gaze. "It's been a mini-eternity since I've seen you last," her friend added, whilst looking at the two other prosecutors. "Indeed, it has, Franziska. I hope no trouble has happened before I came." Then, upon hearing that they were going to Tres Bien, Rose grimaced ever so slightly, and responded, "Yes, I have visited the restaurant once. Their cuisine was most....unique." Afterwards, she nodded to Franziska, and said a kind "Thank you," before taking her seat beside Sheila.

Zed, hearing the loud lashing sound of nosehairs, gestured Portia to stay and ran to the other side.
Once there, Zed found all three killers on the floor and Bobobo struggling to keep them put. "I'm coming to help!" he yelled, jumping on the woman who was trying to escape.
Unfortunately he missed her completely and fell painfully on the rock-hard pavement. "Ouch..."

Stay here? You wish, Arken.... Portia thought with an almighty frown and scrambled up to run after him. Seeing him dive ineffectually at the woman who was escaping, she made a more successful attempt and, thankful that she had a firearms permit, forced her pistol against the side of the woman's head.

"Move and I'm putting one straight through your skull." Portia growled, locking an arm round the woman's neck.

"Back...from...the dead, are we...Schwarz?" she hissed.

What? She knows me? And she knows about....

((Doops. Awfully sorry. v.v I just had writer's block.))

"Thanks," Sheila said, pulling herself into her seat. Then, Rose appeared, as if out of nowhere. Ms. Thornebush...It seems like an eternity since I last saw her, but really, it wasn't even a day.
"Of course you may join in, Ms. Thornebush," Sheila replied. Then, Franziska motioned Rose to sit next to her. "W-wait, Ms. von Karma, are you sure that's-?"
"Thank you," Rose said, taking the indicated seat. Sheila shifted uncomfortably. If Rose was sitting there, then Howl would be sitting...
What's the big deal? So he'd be sitting next to Franziska while she's driving...Okay, that might come back to bite her in the butt, Sheila thought, imagining Franziska driving and Howl saying, "You're going too slow." To which Franziska replied in her head, "Well, at least I won't be near death because of going too fast like a certain foolish fool." Sheila frowned as she tried to think of how Howl would respond before catching herself. This was no time to be imagining things. She hastily looked out the window and could swear she saw her brother. But when she blinked, he was gone.
Come on, Sheila. Pull yourself together. You're trying to solve a case now. The least you can do is have your head about you.

((I see, it happens to all of us at some point, anyway.))

Rose waited patiently, her hands daintily placed on her lap, until she noticed the worried look on Sheila's face. She thought, "Why would she.....Oh, my," she then stated, as she pieced together what would be the outcome of her seating where she is at present.

"I'll go out first, and see if I can stay at the front," Rose then turned to Sheila, hopefully calming her even slightly. She then stepped out of the SUV, and walked up to Franziska, asking, "Franziska, may I ask if I can sit at the front seat? You see, you and Howl....aren't in such friendly terms, and you might get distracted in driving if he continually comments on your driving and such."

"Pleases agree, Franziska, just this once...for all our sakes."

((Haha, nothing personal, angel_of_nature, but Franziska's gonna fight Rose on this one. I do agree that it may be a bit of a distraction for Franziska.... we'll see. I'd be fine having Franziska discuss things with Rose, but I can't imagine Franziska backing down once her mind is made up. You understand. ^_^))

"W-wait, Ms. von Karma, are you sure that's-?" With raised eyebrows, Franziska bent down slightly to see what Sheila needed, but then immediatly dismissed it when Sheila stopped herself. Franziska strutted around to the driver's side and opened the door, taking a moment to stretch. She put her arms behind her and lengthened her back; the perfect way to prepare for a bout of driving. In mid-stretch, Franziska paused, realizing she may have a problem... I'm going to need to ask one of these fools for directions.... argh. Franziska cringed at the thought of having to rely on someone else's instructions. She took a deep breath, then held it for a second. Why did she always end up placing herself in these positions? She'd always frowned upon business lunch dates; they were frivolous. What really killed the prosecutor was the fact that she had volunteered herself for this one. Ha, there's no turning back now. In her mind, doing such showed weakness. And perfection wasn't weak.

Rose caught the prosecutor's attention when she spoke, "Franziska, may I ask if I can sit at the front seat? You see, you and Howl....aren't in such friendly terms, and you might get distracted in driving if he continually comments on your driving and such."

Aghast, Franziska spoke immediately. "Bah, distracted?! Who are you to question me, Franziska von Karma!?" Her grip on her whip tightened. "What a foolish notion! I am perfect, Rose Thornebush, have you forgotten that? I do not get distracted." Franziska turned around and opened her door. How could that woman be so patronizing so as to question her, the prodigy!? Control yourself, Franziska. You are going to have to have lunch with her. Don't ruin it yet. Taking a deep breath, she pivoted back to Rose. "That fool can only harass me to a point. Hmph, if that he gets too far out of line, I swear I will stop the car and make him walk the rest of the way." She paused, breaking eye-contact with Rose. "While I acknowledge your concern, I can assure you the seating arrangement will not be a problem." With that, Franziska sat down on the driver's seat and closed the door. She had to remember that Rose was only concerned about the well-being of the passengers in the car. Still, why did Rose think Howl would comment on her driving? What was wrong with it? Ha, it was perfect, just as she was!

((If Rose is feeling froggy, let her jump ^_^. Maybe she'll want to open Franziska's car door and continue the conversation. Franziska was pretty rude to close it on Rose....))

((Haha, I'll get even with her on this one. And I've been left out of the conversation for a bit, since I was undercover, so I'll show the Rose has thorns, after all. ;D))

Franziska seemed quite agitated with Rose's question. "Bah, distracted?!" the sky blue-haired prosecutor struck back. "Who are you to question me, Franziska von Karma!? What a foolish notion! I am perfect, Rose Thornebush, have you forgotten that? I do not get distracted." Opening her car door, she continued, "That fool can only harass me to a point. Hmph, if that he gets too far out of line, I swear I will stop the car and make him walk the rest of the way. While I acknowledge your concern, I can assure you the seating arrangement will not be a problem." Franziska then shut the door beside her, in her usual, "perfect" attitude.

"Perfect," Rose thought, glaring at the driver's door. "Anyone who has such an arrogant, competitive attitude as she could hardly be called perfect in the slightest....But I digress," she thought at the end. "At least she actually respects her fellow prosecutors ever so slightly, even if she is quite self-centered." She walked toward the other front door and immediately seated herself beside Franziska, confronting her. "Franziska, I do not do this to affect you in any way, but I am only assuring the safety and ease of our fellow prosecutors," turning her head to Sheila, as the blonde prosecutor, as well as she, was worried about the outcome of Howl's seating position in the car. "Also, if you wish, I may help us navigate towards our destination," she added, hoping it would help, though "Franziska, being "perfect", should already know the way to this place."
