3DS doesn't work that way. Most of the 3D games have stuff jumping out of the screen, but the 3DS instead has stuff jumping IN, aka creates the illusion of depth (like you described). That's why Phoenix wouldn't jump out of the DS, but rather you would be able to rotate the court house and look at the defense, prosecution, etc from different angles. But still, just the sheer thought of a GS game on 3DS gives me goose bumps, in a good way
