Well, it's that plus the fact that I ran into time problems along the way. XD

Anyways, the first case will be relatively short, like all PW games, but the other cases will be significantly longer. The final case plans to be 3 times as long as Rise of the Ashes. Yes. 3 times as long. :beef:

Thanks for the encouragement:)

That's crazy long! You're not going to pull out some crazy 4th day scheme are you, where they increase the amount of days a case can be tried?

No problem. I just finished planning out my fan game, got all the cases sorted. Now I need the tibits, like the sprites, backgrounds, case images and the the dialogue.

Possibly, seeing as how it takes place in a computerized world, the malfunction could have extended that much. Or investigations will take even at night.

Hooray! That's great news, Attorneyatlawl! Once I receive your script, I'll finish up and send the final part to DeMatador. With some good planning, we'll be able to get this out in March!

Thanks for your help!

It'd be cool if that happened. Heck, even a glitch where the system keeps taking you back to the second day would be a twist.

Well, bump.

My internet is mostly back, and I'm working on the script to get it finished quickly. I've been really stumped lately due to school, but I'm hoping to get it finished by this week.

So, everyone else's parts are done, right?

There's a few parts to still work on, and seeing as how I've am at a leader's retreat for about 2 weeks and counting now, I'll be working as quick as I possibly can. Everyone else's parts are complete though, yes. Once I finish up the little bits, I'll send the final thing back to you, DeMatador, for the final touching up.

We'll be cutting it super close with the release date here, folks. I'm certainly glad that the March release date was not a promised time, but a prediction. If all goes wrong, expect Case 1 to be released in April.

Yes! I really hope you, DeMat and the others make the cut this month. I really wish you guys the best, and once it comes out, you can be sure I'll grab one.

This game's been the talk for months! Once the demo comes out, hopefully it'll be a big bang!

Well, either that or the coding doesn't make it in time. Hopefully, that won't happen since the game is worked on by many people aside from paper

Okay, so we couldn't make the March window. And it's my duty to apologize to all of you. The truth is school and several other real-life projects have been overshadowing RotP, and I still couldn't finish my part of the coding.

BUT! It IS truth that it's very advanced (1000 lines of AHLSL, in case you're wondering), and covers half of the part's script. By posting this, I hereby compromise myself to finishing my part before April 15th, and, God help me, maybe even before this monday. I don't have school until then, so I'm free.

Paper, if the rest of the parts are done, just send them to me, and I'll tape them together, and finish the Demo at once.

We couldn't make March, but you really, REALLY can look forward to April. Of course, it's not definitive, but... Who knows, we may release the Demo anytime this month. You'll be the first to know, patient crowd! Again, sorry for not being able to reach the March window. I actually wanted to finish everything before today and release it today, April 1st, so that everybody would think it's a joke (ala GMail, look it up).

(This post won't look that weird once the filter's gone.)

Lol DeMatador, would have been a good joke! I'm glad you didn't try and make a joke out of it with it not finished, the worst april fools joke is the one you wish were true :/

I'm sure we will all enjoy it when it is finished, whenever that may be. Congrats on making as much progress as you have!

*Cough*

Well met, fellow Court Records members. I apologize for my absence, but I have had a severe case of bronchitis for the last few weeks, and have been too sick to even type a decently long post on the computer. As I get a little bit better, I have decided to come online and let everyone know that I AM still doing my best to have the demo out by the end of April. I have read the messages I missed, and thank you everyone for your support. Many thanks to you for your help as well, DeMatador. I will also update the Fan Projects page once I'm better too.

Being sick was not fun, it scared me when I coughed up blood one day, but an exciting trip to the emergency room informed me that it was nothing major at all. It hasn't happened after that. The best part about staying sick in bed is that I can watch movies and stuff. And apologies to the haters of the anime K-On, but I absolutely adore that show and its music, so I got to watch the brand new season.

Anyways, talk to all of you again in a few days, when I've recovered. Here's to hopefully making deadlines, no more coughing up blood, and the second season of K-On! (Once again, bring on the hate comments:P)

Paper, there you are! Good to see you're fine, though not in the best circumstances, but fine.
For anyone wondering, "Bronch" comes from "bronchus", and the "itis" suffix means "inflamation". So it's an inflamation of the bronchi (plural for bronchus), which are the inner ramifications of the lungs. Most specifically, what inflames are the inner membranes of the bronchi. To get rid of the mucus, the body forces cough, where the mucus can be mixed with blood. Which explains why Paper coughed blood. It can be very alarming at first, but thank God it's nothing to worry about :)

Anyway, get well soon! Meanwhile, I'll finish up my part (not much left, around 7 pages of the script, and it's mostly text) and then you can send me the remaining parts.

Too few posts these last days!

How's your illness going, Paper? You can't be dead, right? ;_;

With the low amount of posts the last few weeks, the release of the demo is looking grim. But, that doesn't matter, the longer the suspense, the bigger the relief!

Hope to hear again from a dev / from Paper soon.

Oh, yeah, how's the full game coming along, by the way?

Okay, people, sorry. Really sorry. But this month I was asigned with 2 huge jobs: a comic book for Literature based-off Homer's "Odyssey" (yes, a comic book), which I handed in today, and a huge speech about "Animal Day" (which is April 29th here), with a PowerPoint slideshow and everything, which I'm giving tomorrow, Tuesday.

Luckily, after that, I will finally be free, and I'll get to finish the script, which is mostly done. Then we can finally aim for a May date, as long as nothing else like this happens (though I don't think so).

Anyway, Paper, I hope you are alive and well now, and again, sorry for not being able to hit the April deadline (after skipping the March one), but things got kinda outta my control.

Well then! Since I, for one, really want to see this project finished, I thought I'd offer my help with my videomaking expertise.

So yeah, I'd be happy to animate any cutscenes if you want my help. :jake:

PS. I'd animate my beta version of the 1st case intro now, but I'm not entirely sure about how you'd like it to look. Check the help topic for more.

PPS. Ah crud, should've posted on the help topic. :meekins:

Okay, time to make a few updates/replies:

First, I'm sorry I've been missing for the last few days; it's flu season over here, and so many employees at my parent's store have become sick. Since I am just finally getting over my bronchitis, I made up for my lost time by helping out quite a bit.

As for the game, it really kills me every time I delay the release, there's nothing I would like more than to release this to the ever-so-patient public. Of course, it's never that simple.

Anyways, with my wonderful program team's help, I shall make no promises, but will try my best to have it out in May.

Now, for the replies:

@loewies: Thanks for your words of concern, and also for your patience.

@saluk: Thank you, I have almost fully recovered now!

@Bass_Ultra: Although BSX and DeMatador already explained, I can see why you thought that. I'm not too wonderful on medical terms, myself...

@BSX: Thanks for your get well wishes, BeSeXy.

@Meenyman: Thanks for your pun, they're always good for a laugh! Godot would be ashamed, but I dislike coffee. I love the smell, though!

@DeMatador: Thank you for your detailed explanation, saving me another 2 or 3 lines of typing. Also, I understand that lots of stuff can take over, so we'll have to try out best to release this whenever it's possible. Thanks for all of your help!

@Xplosivv: Fear not, I am not dead! Sorry that I haven't been posting, and as for your question, the demo is part of the full game...so not very far. Of course, it's a long term project so I'm dead focused on the demo right now.

@Iban: I would love to have some video expertise in this project, and it's okay that you posted here. I have a question: do you have a general idea of what I'm looking for in the first case intro? If you can make the cutscene, I can let you know about some small edits afterwards. I'm pretty accepting so there wouldn't be much after editing to do. Thanks again!

Thank you, everyone!

There's not really a release date for the demo; there has never been. March and April were expected release windows, which is not the same than a release date.

Unfortunately, school ate my entire April with those huge works, but, if all goes well, the final Demo should be ready this month. But, since unexpected things may happen, it's not an official window. Just a goal.
