Alright, I wasn't 100% sure where to put it. Since I don't consider them as true sprites because of the method of making of making them that was used.

I only have 2 so far, both being animated ones of my Self-Insert Lawyer OC. I'm still trying to work these 2 on out, with this mostly being a test of how to do it (that and I forgot the save the version with all the sections being seperate layers so I'll need to re-do it again for later animations I may do later to keep fluidity.

I used one of Young Mia's court sprite as a base for the pose, make her flat-chested and changed the position of the further arm as well. The face will probably need some work for her to look a bit more female really. I also used Trucy for the base on the hat as well.

Everything else was basically drawn and shaded on over the sprite, switching the anti-aliasing on and off depending on the area. I can't do the traditional spriting method you guys do that is fully pixel by pixel due to the lack of a mouse (I have a tablet and a laptop, but I can't sprite well without a mouse)

But I will say, it's a pain to try and edit areas with that method, the talking sprites I know are going to need a lot more work on with the mouth area, so any possible crit or suggestions as to how to improve some areas or methods on making them look a lot more PW like are greatly appreciated.

Whether or not you drew it pixel-by-pixel, I'd still consider that to be a sprite, rather than just pixel art. There is a bit of a problem with your method, though... In some areas, the outlines looks a lot thicker than others. While the hat is magnificent, the outlines on it are just too thick. The only other issue I see is that the shirt looks too flat; it looks like it's latex paint, applied to her skin. If I may ask, why does the jacket collar just kind of stop? I doubt anyone will agree with me, but I think it looks fantastic. It's very rare that you see spriters use the drawing style itself to create something visually interesting like that.

Regarding the talking animation, maybe the mouth should open more. At the moment it looks like she's purposely chewing gum with her mouth open to annoy someone. As for hardware, most spriters I know actually prefer tablets and touch pads to more traditional pointing devices. I personally prefer to use a PlayStation 2-style USB game pad, with JoyToKey converting button presses and analog stick movements into key presses and mouse actions.

^ Actually I think it's supposed to be a she?

Very nice sprite, but it doesn't fit as a PW sprite, as you said. Although, it would work fine if you intended to make sprites in your own style.
