A package of ten plain noodle packs cost something 'bout 1.50€ so in Fin terms his salary wouldn't be that much.
Though we do need to remember he PROPABLY has some money for rent and stuff too...
In here; the awerage sum off all payments in year 2009 was 2964€ per month.
I don't think this has anything to do with this, but I thought to mention it for fun :D
Now; just some random thinking and in MY OPINNION it's something like...hmm....
*the original payment + all the rises - all the salary cuts* ...Hmmm.... My thought is something like 643.50 (€) per month.
At least that sound low enough if you think of rent's and all the other bills.

and in reply to a MUCH earlier post.. I think that Edgeworth would help Gumshoe out if he was really that bad off (assuming he DOES go through with those salary cuts, and that they aren't just base-less threats). He may not do it pleasantly, or very nice... but I feel like he'd either take pity on Gumshoe.... or do it just to get the man off his back (and yes, I am a fan of Edgeworth also)

Maybe it's because Edgeworth's all prim and proper and well-learned, when thinking of words would think of them in their Kanji form (since there are so many complicated kanji, I would imagine that the more you know of them the smarter it may imply you are), but since Gumshoe's a bit simpler minded and casual in speech, when thinking of the words he would think in kana? maybe?
