Well, I haven't really been working much on sprites recently, but I thought I might as well do something while I was back home for Christmas. So here's the finished version of the Kenji OC I posted a few months ago.

It took a while but I'm fairly pleased with the results.

Anyway, I'll edit this post later today when I'm back at uni, I need some crit on a new pose of Jay I made.

Nice. As I told loobywright, GK sprites are notorious for being difficult to edit but it seems you have managed to edit one into this awesome OC.

Are you going to make more poses for this OC or attempt anything else GK related?

Wow, that's a VERY professional-looking sprite. Very original too.
Good job, it looks great! :garyuu:

nice work nose :godot:
one thing I would suggest is to add a little more shade to one side of the line connecting the two parts of the shirt other than that small thing again nicely done :D

Possibly. I'll certainly aim to get a full-body version of this sprite done (due to the base I've used it won't be difficult) but after that I'm not sure. I've got an idea for another OC, but I'm not sure how well I'd be able to do it- I still have great difficulty recolouring these sprites.

Good to hear some crit, I'll try and sort that out for the full-body version.

Hmmm...It reminds me a lot from Jess in her secondary costume. *advance wars Dual Strike*
Anyway; It's cool and I like it.

Oh my, now I see a big resemblance but I still like it, which is good as Advance Wars is one of my favourite games.

Good eye Zinle, I did use her as a base.
In retrospect it probably wasn't the best idea using Jess as a base for the OC when the sprite already had facial similarities to her. I'll still work on the fullbody version though, I'm just not sure whether I can call her an OC anymore.

*Does the "I'm so happy, I'm so best, I'm so great" -dance*

Sure you can still call her OC, pal.
Some of the OC's seen here are pretty much just headswaps *no bad intended*
And besides. Think it like this.
It is pretty much like Jess, but so what?
She just happens to look like your OC.

Well, it's certainly been a while, but I think it's time for an update.
First a new DA, with yet again no name. Apart from the jaggies (which with my current palette don't seem very easy to fix) I'm very happy with this sprite. Doesn't especially look like an attorney though, she's even more casual than Klavier.

As a bonus, here's the profile of my remake of Sharpe. His design is pretty much the same, but when it's finished I think it will look much better. (just compare him with the original on the first page)

I'll agree with ya on that statement.
It looks more like a Final Fantasy character than AA character.
Nevertheless it still looks nice though.

And yeah. The 2.0 looks nicer.
Definitely an improvement with the eyes.

Heh, well we'll see. Nice coincidence though, wouldn't have thought many parents would give their children names with such obvious puns.

And glad you liked it Zinle, it was more of an test of how well Fire emblem sprites could be incorporated than a proper OC though, so I'm not especially bothered if they don't look like an attorney.

Anyway, seeing as how Ernst would play a major part in my potential fangame I decided he would need to be revamped given how cruddy his previous version was. No scratching anymore, but it should at least help the problems I had with proportion in the last one and I've recycled all of the good parts of the old version into this one anyway, nothing goes to waste!

No eyes means a lot less frames for animation, so maybe I'll even finish this one.

Hi thar! :will:

I really enjoyed looking through your sprites! I think your OC, Brooke reade, was my favorite. :will:
But one thing really stuck out to me...

This guy. His head seems a little...odd...:yuusaku:
I think if you scooted his head a little towards the right, it would look much better!
His head would be fine if his body was facing straight forward, but since his body is turned a little, it looks off.

But besides that, great job! I like your sprites! :pearly:

Mio: Glad you liked them, and thanks for the crit on Jay. To be honest, his sprite's always been a little... off in my mind, moving the head should help proportionally, but I think the head as a whole needs some work, the skin palette I've used is pretty terrible.

Cissy: Thanks for the compliments, Ersnt is one of my favourites as well, I thought that the old version just didn't do him justice. I've done a few edits to him in the meantime, mostly making his chin less wonky to make the sprite look more natural.

While I'm here, no updates yet, but I'll post the Ernst edits and the sprite I was considering entering in the OC contest in a few days, main reasons that I'm not posting it are due to it being on my laptop and, more importantly, it not being finished.

...And nearly 5 months later it's actually done. For such a simple edit this took far too long, probably because I'd start tweaking it again whenever I had decided I was done, so this time I'm just posting the damn thing.

Onto the sprite.

Looks nice. very nice.

Although, the head looks a bit lopsided. top of the head (hair) moves to the (my)left a tad too much.
Know what I mean?
Then again, not too sure about it, might just be my perception. XD

Still, looks great.
Keep it up.

Damn you...If you haven't mentioned the head I wouldn't have even noticed it! :D
Ebony? Just make a cousin called Ivory and we can call it a day, huh?

Meh...Nothing bad to say 'bout it. (yes, it's a compliment in Zinny way)
And red color allways gives ya some extra points. :3

Haha, it's not often I get such a positive reception for a sprite. Good getting some crit for once as well.

Anyways, here's a newer version with a few edits to the hair as indicated by Ceres. Any better?
