That's so cool :D
I guess that learn Spanish should be pretty difficult, isn't it? because of the grammar, I think. The grammar in Spanish is complicated, overcoat for the people who haven't never spoken it.

Dutch (mothertongue), Cantonese, English and Japanese are the languages I can speak in (though I can't read Cantonese Chinese). Also studied German, French, Latin and Ancient Greek for 4+ years each, but it's kinda hazy lately. With a dictionary and some time for the latter two languages, I can read them fine though. And I'm taking Mandarin Chinese and Korean this semester. In Japanese.

...

I pick up bits of other languages from random places sometimes. I used to learn Japanese in Primary school... but by the time I reached grade two, it stopped... T_T

Now that I'm in high school, I'm learning Italian.

Japanese is a language I want to learn BADLY. It's awesome.

Besides, I know some random stuff as well, for example:
The Japanese word for phoenix(hōō, pronunced "HO-OH")
Uno, dos, and tres, the words for one, two, and three in Spanish
A few random words in French, such as "nom" meaning "name"... if you're wondering where the hell I found that out, I was playing PWAA on my R4 in French just for the fun of it
...I can't think of anything else right now ._.

Heh, that's really close indeed, about 5 minutes with the bike. I don't go there that often, but the old, small ramen-ya in front of Kyuusan (I think it's called Ichiraku) is one of the better ones in Fukuoka :D

I can fully understand and read Slovenian but I'm not good at writing or speaking it (usually pronouncing things the wrong way).
I had French for about 3 years at school but I almost forgot everything, although I never was really any good in it anyway. The only phrases which I can still remember are "Je m'appelle...", "J'habit a..." and "Je suis trés fatiguée."

I can mostly understand Croatian and only a few words which are Russian, Polish or Serbian, for they sounding or being almost the same like in Slovenian. I know some Latin but just because I'm going to a medical and biological specialized school [e.g. when a word ends with -itis, it's usually an inflammation (Tonsillitis, Bronchitis, Endocarditis etc.)]

Oh and I know a few Greek (swear) words because some Greek dude at my old workplace was swearing a lot. (Malaka = idiot)

I should start learning Croatian, Russian and Polish!

Hmm... English was my first language, I know a little bit of Tagalog, certain phrases such as, Mahal Kita!(I love you), kukurutin kita singit!(I will pinch you...somewhere! I'm afraid to say it on the internet), ano ka ba?!(What is wrong with you?!), and a bunch of other things I can't think of now because I'm too lazy. :gregory: We take a Spanish class for Specials at our school, but I never pay attention because I want to learn Tagalog before Spanish, but I know less Spanish than Tagalog, which is awesome!!and weird...
:zenitora: This really annoyed me, so my Spanish teacher was teaching us what milk
was in Spanish(I already knew what it was) and it was leche(i don't give a crap how you spell it). Leche in Taglog means she-he-it(say it really fast) so when ever I see crap on the ground I point to it and say, "LECHE!!!"....weird, huh?....

English is my first language [["unforch"???]]...

When my family lived to Guam when I was in 1st/2nd grade, my sis and I had to sing their national anthem [[in Chamorro]] after the Pledge of Allegiance, and learn Chamorro in general... It was awesome~ :3 [[Though, whenever we tried practicing the numbers around our mom, she'd get slightly irritated and try to correct us because she thought we were trying to speak Spanish... >>;;; ]]

Speaking of, took Spanish almost all 4 years in high school [[online AP Spanish killed it for me though x.x;;; ]], and also took some Spanish in college. Should've tried to CLEP out of the college Spanish though, since a lot of it was the same stuff from high school <<;;;

Been trying to teach myself Japanese since....... 7th grade? So far, I can SORTA speak it better than I can read/write it... x.x;;;

Also, can sorta speak German, Italian, and a little Latin... SUPER limited though ^^U

In fact I'm quite sure that sentence itself was very poor.

Not currently, but in the future, yes.

I'm being forced to take Italian next year because my High School is retarded and decided to cut Japanese class THE YEAR I ENTER IT. *DIES* And only because they couldn't afford the Japanese 2 books. I mean, couldn't they at least kept Japanese 1 as an elective or SOMETHING since they still have those books? If it's because you need two years, then that's stupid because I could've taken the first class, taken another random language, learned much more Japanese on my own, then pass the Japanese test. So, next year I'm most likely going to fail Italian because I'll be busy studying Japanese on my own instead. XP I already started and know a lot of the kana, over 300 words, and basic sentence structure. [Btw, Japanese sentence structure makes much more sense than English. And it's easier to remember.] I still suck really bad though. For example, all I got out of what Fumetsu said was Japanese [Nihongo] and that [Sore]. *SUPERFAIL* I need to go practice more. Some of those words I think I recognize, but I must've forgotten them XD

@ChocolateXCheese- Wow, that really sucks. I took Japanese at my high school for 3 years, and I thought they were gonna cut the class from there too after I had graduated in 2008. Apparently they still have the class today from what my brother told me. Hmm, they didn't even have Italian at my high school, but they have it at the university I'm going to soon. I thought about taking Italian since my university is making me take a foreign language for 4 semesters, and because they don't have Japanese (They have Chinese but that doesn't really cut it) :/

I WOULD still be learning Japanese but they offer only one year at my college, and no independent study. However they offer three years of French and french and of coarse an eternity of Spanish. >_<
So I've been studying it on my own.

What I said was " I have studied Japanese for about three years but i don't use it often so I've forgotten a lot of it."
I used to think Japanese was easy, until I got into the more advanced levels when I started to hate the language sooo much.

I know English and Filipino; I have this feeling I'm much better in English than in Filipino, which is supposed to be my native tongue.

I learned the basics of Japanese and Italian in college to fulfill my required language units, although I want to continue them. Italian in particular, because I think I'm better at it XDDDDD

I'm fluent in Dutch and English. On a lower level, I speak German and French. I can read Latin and ancient Greek (though better at Latin, because I've been taught Latin for six years and Greek for only four).

Next year, I'll be tackling Spanish.
