Personally, I really enjoyed Hotel Dusk, and $10 for it is a great deal, but in my opinion, it's not as good as Ace Attorney. Then again, the Ace Attorney games are probably my favorite; they're up there with Streets of Rage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, and No More Heroes. Anyway, on the actual subject...

Yet another opinion of mine is that, since the Wii and DS came around, Nintendo has been the only console company going in the right direction for their new systems, and I don't think they've let us down yet. What I mean by this is that they actually innovate their systems, rather than just continuing to make them increasingly computer-like by improving graphics and online playability (Microsoft and Sony are only improving what we already have, not coming up with new ideas). Therefore, though I don't exactly understand what the 3DS will be, I'm excited to see how it turns out, and I'm sure it will be another success. I do understand how it would annoy people though; Nintendo has a tendency to come out with a bunch of new-and-improved versions of the same portable system, often at the same time that a new system comes out. But I don't think the GameBoy Micro was much of a success, and I can't say for sure, but I doubt the DSiXL is getting much success either. Point is, it's really more of a question to the consumer; do you think buying a new version of the DS is a better idea than waiting for the 3DS? I stopped at the regular DSi, personally. If I want to keep a brick in my pocket, I still have the Game Gear for that. Also, it's thought that the 3DS might look something like this, for those who haven't seen the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWAg1s7xfz0

On the subject of Ace Attorney on the 3DS, I'm sure it will be fine. The investigation phases especially need some sort of spicing up, considering that we no longer have regular use of the megatama. How trials would work, I have no idea. But the characters could stay 2D with a 3D background; a 3D courtroom would be interesting. Then again, the new features might only be used at certain parts, like in Apollo Justice and Rise From the Ashes; for the most part, those cases played the same as the original three games, just adding the occasional part where you have to use the touchscreen.

P.S.- I haven't posted anything on here in a long time, so I scanned the smileys, and am going to do this just because I feel like it:

I agree with this. I just upgraded my GB color with the DSi...and I probably wouldn't buy a 3DS so fast.
I'd be pretty pissed (mostly sad) if the next installment of AA was on the 3DS. I mean, the technology is great... its just stupid that they'd release so many types of the DS ... then release a completely new handheld as a new generation. :gregory:

Now I'm getting annoyed. Exactly how many times do we have to say that the 3DS is not a new DS. It is the successor to the DS line, and is a completely new console.

I'm happy with my Lite for now but IF GS5 is on the 3DS I'll buy it when its a reasonable price. I never bothered with the DSi, DSi XL etc.
I just really want to play GS5 when it comes.
I'd like to see more cutscenes with proper voice acting (eg if they do a song, make it have proper vocals like the excellent Time Hollow music).
3D Investigations may be interesting.

No reason to get worked up
he never said something in the effect that 3DS is an update
he only said that he did not care about DSi or DSi XL

I'm just unsure why people would not buy a 3DS when it's a new console, meaning that the original DS is going to become obsolete soon. Yeah, Iwata (or Reggie, can't remember) said that they wanted to keep thet DS going, but they said that with the GBA when they first announced the DS.

Because they announced it just after the DSi came out, meaning I've already spent enough money on a new console for the next little while. I don't have the money to go and buy new consoles as soon as they come out, unfortunately. I only have the one, which is my DSi. I don't have a PSP or anything else like that. It doesn't matter whether my current one will be 'obsolete' or not, it's all I have, and I've just bought it. It's also pissing me off that they'd change consoles for AA. I know it was originally a Gameboy game and all that, but since I don't talk Japanese, that didn't affect me. I know they'll always be updating things like this, but I'm just in a really pissy mood at the moment, so yeah.

Oh yeah, what does obsolete mean? Not in use or something? :eh?:

Obsolete in my words is: Old and not up to date.

But, I think Nintendo does need to think about when they are releasing things because they have a real clustered way of releasing systems.

I think with the 3DS it could make investigations more interesting, examing evidence etc, using the percieve ability or magatama in 3D could be good.
This is if the switch to 3DS is the reason for delay of course. Theyd better announce something at TGS.
I dont want a new attorney when Apollo's story hasnt been told yet.

Why does Apollo have 3D glasses when the entire point of the 3DS is that it can do 3D without glasses?

I honestly don't think it should jump streight onto the 3DS... after all, it has really only had one proper game on the 2DS....

You'd think that, but in addition to Apollo Justice, We got Edge's Game, and Rise from the Ashes is large enough to be worth two cases.

Considering we had 3 games on the GBA, and ~2.5 new games on the DS, that's not bad at all.

And yes, as I stated on page 1, the graphic didn't scream 3D to me originally. And 3D is a very important part of the 3Ds. Yes I knew that the 3DS doesn't need the glasses. But without the glasses would you think 3D as a concept? I sure didn't, even with Apollo poking out of the upper screen.

I am thinking Apollo will object toward the screen and it will look as if his arm is sticking out of the screen toward you.

Well, 3DS or not... a new Gyakuten Saiban would be perfect ^^

I'm definitely ready for GS5. Why does it always take so long for these games? :( Anyhow, I'll likely get the 3DS when it comes out (Although maybe not right away). I've had my DS Lite for about 4 years now. I'd say that 5 years with a console is a pretty decent time (And it will be 7 years for those with the original DS).

I didn't bother with the DSi nor the DSI XL, though. I didn't really see the point to either of them. I'm glad I didn't buy either one, or else I probably wouldn't have had any money for the 3DS :P

Releasing a game on the DS right before the 3DS comes out might be a really bad move. It's crushed good series before (console changes), and I'd rather not have it impact this one. I'd imagine a game that comes out shortly after the 3DS is better than a game that comes out right before the 3DS is released and another game that comes out 2 years later after the hype has died down a bit.

Since the 3DS's release is said to appear end 2010/start 2011 I highly doubt that another AA game might pop. I bet the final game will be Golden Sun(If they will delay it again), or Pokemon B/W.
Also we got like ZERO info about GS 5 yet. So I think it is highly reasonable to say that the next AA game appears for the 3DS, unless within the next month or so comes a new announcenement.
But it also may be, since they didn't said anything about an AA game for 3DS, and announced a couple others which are set for 31 December 2011, we may assume something still may pop up
(I think that actually did not made any sense) :keiko:

Let us hope That "Last Window" or "Ghost Trick" wont be the only titles Capcom have to announce

Errr... Last Window was made by Cing, and published by Nintendo. Capcom has (hopefully) nothing to do with Kyle Hyde.
As for TGS, we might indeed hear a little bit about GS5, but nothing more than a mere teaser, a bit like the "New Gyakuten, Not Saiban" teaser. GT hasn't even been released in the US/EU, and it's pretty clear the next GS will be on the 3DS (otherwise, we would've heard about it already), so I doubt we'll get anything about GS5 at this year's TGS.

But I wouldn't say no to a little teaser, as I just said :p
