Now my rant is over, the whole neck biting thing has been around, but nothing like this, blood sharing and actual bodily wounds that could get infected. This this is the shit that spreads AIDS. Seriously.

Actually blood-sharing has been around for a long time for the less well known underground community that live as vampires of which there are 3 types: 'sangs' that drink blood, 'psys' that absorb living energy and ones that are both. These groups of people have been practising blood sharing - taking a syringe and drawing blood from willing donors who would need to be tested for blood-borne infections - for much longer than Twilight's been around. They tend to dress and live like vampires, sleep in coffins, the whole thing. It's far more than some trend for them. Trust me, I researched the subject when I was 15, 5-6 years ago, and people at school believed I was a vampire as a result. If only Twilight was popular back then.

I'm not sure if this twihard trend involves the relatively safe method of using a syringe to draw blood, or if they're just slashing each other and pressing bleeding wounds against each other... the HIV virus isn't passed on easily unless there is direct contact between wound and wound or carrier fluids. The fluids that carry the virus also need to have a very high concentration of the virus to pass into another's bloodstream to be able to infect. A few hundred viral particles will be easy destroyed by the immune system. I think there is a misconception that just because there is blood, you're gonna get AIDs.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn?
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts

I could tolerate the books. Its the fans I can't stand. I made a joke to a friend of mine during class, saying that I was going to make a shirt that said "Team Charizard." The girl sitting in front of me spins around and proceeds to chew me out because I "insulted the greatest book in the world" and because I like Pokemon. She called me immature and childish, in which I retorted with, "Don't you think attacking someone for making a harmless joke is more immature?"

Well, she tried to fight back by saying that no Pokemon could ever beat Edward.

My bud then adds, "The books said that the only way to make sure the vampires are dead is to burn he body. Charizard is a FIRE BREATHING DRAGON." (He did some PWN!)

This hasn't been the first time I've had a bad encounter with people over this series. I almost lost a friend because she asked me my opinion on the book, and I said word for word, "I didn't think it was very good. I didn't feel like the romantic connection between the main girl and her vampire boyfriend was very convincing. But then again, I've never really cared much for vampire romances."

I didn't bad mouth it, I just simply stated my opinion which she asked for. Yet she still threatened to never speak to me again. Other twitards would try to bitch at me because of the few times I said that I didn't care for it. The harrasing continued for some time after that. Eventually, the simple "I wasn't very fond of the book," evolved into "God I wish this series was never published!" All because the die hard fans are assholes.

Oh my god, Twilight fans are definitely less annoying than Twilight haters. At least the fans normally know what they're talking about, and are a bit more original. With the haters you get the same few phrases just repeated over and over and over again, it's so boring. :grossburg:

Well, I'd say that it's the same stuff regurgitated over and over again for both sides, generally speaking of course. There's only so much, "Edward is so amazing he's my soulmate" that people can listen to, you know?

I can't say the fans are any less annoying, but I agree with you, the haters are really annoying too.

I don't blame the book series or the movies for this... sudden obsession with blood sharing and biting. As hoshihoshi said, this kind of thing [well, maybe a bit more sanitary before] has been around for longer than Twilight. I put the blame solely on the stupidity of today's youth. I mean, how could they be dumb enough to repeat what they read/saw on TV? I thought only children did that.

Seconded. While this new 'obsession' is stemmed from the whole 'vampire craze,' it's not so much the fault of whatever stemmed it, but the endless well of human stupidity.

If you think that's bad, one of my friends (and, through an inside joke, my dad O.o) was asked out by this girl, and this is what she said:

"Will you be the Edward to my Bella?"

He said no.

I used to like Twilight, and now... it's just gotten too far. I only am a Team Jacob gal because 1) they're like giant space heaters (you won't go cold during the winter) and 2) they're wolves, and I like wolves. Other than that, Twilight's gone too far.

Speaking of which, there's a parody movie coming out August 18th called "Vampries Suck". go watch the trailer on Youtube. It's so hilarious, I am going to see this parody.

Poor chinese food delivery guy. :edgy:

He is a cool guy. Let him now. Tell him "you are a cool guy".
Go.

For what I've read here, Twilight (the book) might just scar my brain unrepairably. But if I stand down now, the Twihards will win.

I've downloaded the e-book. I'll start reading on July 19th... and, in fact... I don't really like the idea, but I'm about to get a video camera, so I just might record a "Let's Read". Is there such a thing? Anyway, a friend of mine suggested it, and he wouldn't dare read the damn book, so I said that if I did get the camera, I'd do it. If I do record it, and anyone cares, I may end up uploading it to YouTube, and title it "A Twilight Hater Reads Twilight".

Whatever, recorder or not, I'm starting next Monday.

Hope so. I was planning to do My Immortal.

Anyway, I just want to go against my usual stereotyping self and say that
1) Not all teens are like this,
B) Not everyone who like Twilight is like this and
ಠ_ಠ) Not everyone has to be persecuted for liking it by haters or for hating it by likers.

My sister's 18 now, and she was a big fan of Twilight originally and now is a huge fan of True Blood. We get along fine even though I hate Twilight a lot. She doesn't go around biting her friends or assaulting people for hating her shit (although I have heard some unbelievable stories.)

I blame this story on filthy Americans.

I hear True Blood is Twilight with thirty times the sex.
Now Vampire Chronicles... is exactly the same than Twilight. Saw the ads, though that, saw the first episode, and confirmed it.

Watched the trailer for it, and as I guessed from it, it's by the same morons who are responsible for the horror that is "Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, etc." but contrary to their other movies, this looks mildly funny.

Fuck no, I don't like Twilight. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear. I'm just not like the haters who rant on and on about it because they have nothing better to hate on. Plus, I tend to defend other peoples' opinions and beliefs. Just because I don't like a book doesn't mean it's a horrible book and everyone else should hate it. Just because I find something I believe is wrong doesn't mean it is wrong and everyone else should think so. Just because I believe in a religion doesn't mean all others are wrong and everyone should think so too. I'm very tolerant of... well, almost anything. The one thing I'm intolerant of is intolerance. I understand that you hate the book. What I don't understand is why you would automatically assume I MUST be a Twihard because I have the sensibility to defend those who do like the series [for some unexplainable reason] that are actually sane compared to those obsessive dumbasses who keep biting each other, spreading disease and infections.

THAT ASIDE; I don't like Twilight, but I don't hate it either. So...... why the f*Duck does Twilight have to be such a bigger deal than most book series nowadays? It's just lovey-dovey stuff and hot vampires! And fighting. And Jacob and his clan. (I miss the days where your friends dared you to say Lord Voldemort's name out loud.... T_T)

Eurgh. I guess wouldn't really have a problem, but the idea of walking into a school to see kids biting each other is wierd. I know people who'll bite each other, but at leaast they dont think they are edward, and at least respect the fact that some people dont take kindly to it. BUt we've always been wierd - its not a twilight based thing.to the mega twilight freaks, i say 'GET OUT NOW!!!!!!!!' xD

Watched it yesterday after school with a group of friends. The ending was genius. The whole thing was amazing. AND ZOLTURI FTW!! And, btw, the funny part is that Vampires Suck was written so well that not only is it a hilarious parody, but as one of the people who have read and still disliked the books, I was amazed to find that it actually summarizes most of the books extremely well. So, it's a great place for haters and fans alike to come together and either have a great time or start a street brawl. Or both. At the same time.
