I know there was a thread about phobias but it seems to be long dead. My apologies for starting a new, similar thread, but I'd like to know what people here are afraid of the most.
As for myself...

- Wasps. I guess it can be considered a phobia since I literally go hysteric at those things. I eather cower in a corner and cry or run like hell.
I thought I wouldn't have to see them much this summer since I'm mostly awake at night, but alas, I just went to the ward kitchen to prepare the kettles for breakfast, and on top of the cup I use to measure water there's a huge-ass wasp. >< I had to go to the next ward over and ask for the other nurse to come get rid of the thing so I can do my job. *pathetic*

- Elevators. Just because the thought of one crashing down is my idea of a horrible way to die. Also the place my mother worked at when I was a kid had this bitch of an elevator that got stuck between floors way too often. Ever since I can remember I've said "I'll rather take the stairs".

I'm terrified of heights. I'm scared of heights more than anything else.

I'm also scared of being stuck in an elevator. I also have a small cat phobiaand a full insect phobia as well.

Oh god I hate wasps too. They are so nasty! I remember when I was in high school in a 3D computer design class, a wasp had gotten into the room, and it was flying around, and then all of a sudden... IT LANDED ON MY FREAKING ARM. Since I was in school I obviously couldn't scream or move because if I did the wasp would freak out too and sting me. I stayed DEAD STILL until it went away. Then the teacher killed it. To this day wasps freak me out even more.

I also hate centipedes/millipedes and spiders. Anything with a million legs freaks me out.

I never really minded elevators, but I always have the thought of it breaking down in the back of my mind :(

Oh gawd, I wouldn't be able to do that. As in stay still and quiet with a wasp on my arm.

I had this traumatizing event with wasps last summer... I went to the close-by national park with a friend, we were supposed to climb to the sightseeing tower. The weather was hot and humid, and apparently wasps get ten times angrier than normal during a weather like that. So when we got to the tower, we were randomly attacked by ten or so wasps. ;__;
The car was only a mile away, but we had to run the whole distance. Those bastards just kept following us. And I was wearing freaking high heels. (Yeah, the trip to the national park was kinda ex-tempore)
I kicked the shoes off and ran barefeet. XD I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life.

I think I'm scared of knifes and dogshit. No kidding. When I ask for a knife I ask it to be delivered by the handle, I don't touch it if it's the blade and I always give a knife by the handle. And the dogshit it's just been like that forever, I see dogshit and get surprised and get away as soon as I can. I know it sounds like a joke but it's for real.
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Have you run your fingers down the wall
And have you felt your neck skin crawl
When you're searching for the light ?
Sometimes when you're scared to take a look
At the corner of the room
You've sensed that something's watching you.

Also, my greatest fear is of losing my memory.

Truly my biggest fear... is somewhat embarrassing to say and possible kind of cheesy.

Spoiler:
One of my biggest fears is being alone when I'm older.

Cockroaches - bleugghhh. Oddly, the little ones don't freak me out as much, or the big fat ones that look like they have striped bodies. But here we get the 2 to 3 inch long ones, black or brown, and if we're not careful in cleaning and spraying, they can run rampant in the summer. One time, the A/C unit broke down in the summer, so we had to leave the windows cracked... well, a few snuck in, and one of them managed to sneak into my room and was FLYING AROUND ABOVE ME AS I SLEPT WITH MY MOUTH OPEN. Its movements and sounds actually woke me up... it kept landing on the trash can, and every landing would give off a rustling sound (the liner was a plastic shopping bag). Freaked me the fuck out at 4 am.

It sounds silly, but I fear not having a life. Oh, I don't mean going to parties and joining every possible social event within a 50 mile radius. I'm talking about honestly and successfully living my life the way I want to, without apology. Well, fortunately, this is something that can be remedied.

This isn't weird at all. I fear that I will live a life of regrets, where I fail to take action and live life to the fullest, without reservations.

It's not always easy, but it's definitely doable!

Assuming that one has reason to think it might happen, that is a very understandable fear. I'm not the most social person in the world by any means, but the thought of being truly alone as an old man frightens me too. Don Juans and other narcissists especially need to think about that; you get out of people what you put into them. Going on...

-Wasps. Not only are they able to sting (and that repeatedly) but they're very hard to kill by non-chemical means. You can stomp on one full-force and only stun it if you're not careful to grind it nice and thoroughly into the surface on which it stands.
-Horseflies. I've had a special hatred for those things ever since they ruined the swimming at a family reunion.
-Popping the question and getting "No" for an answer. Granted, it's not likely to happen, but however small it may be, the risk is always there and a negative answer at that point would be truly devastating.

That's the same way I am, but I fear the regrets of what I've done to others. If I were to die today, and everyone closest to me were to look back on the time we've spent together, I don't want them to remember me not for the things I have done wrong. Rather I want to give them memories that are worth remembering. If I'm able to make life easier or better for another, then I'm at my happiest.

But I also have a phobia of needles, and so I'm scared to death of bees and wasps. Anything that has a needle for a butt is terrifying in my book.

Letting down my parents- Hoo boy. I don't like to say my life is driven by fear, but everything I do, I do to keep my parents happy. I hid the existence of this site, delete a large amount of my browser history, tell my parents nothing that's going wrong and try my best to do perfectly in school. I want to talk to them about this, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Definitely. I really don't understand all those women who say they want a "natural" birth 0_o If it was me, I want to be doped up to the eyeballs until I couldn't feel anything.

And, yeah, talking in front of a crowd= scary. I've been terrified of public speaking pretty much all my life on account of my stammer and I'm only just starting to be a little less scared- still avoid it like the plague though :3

Oh geez, I have A LOT!

-The dark. I'm one of those people who has devised a system of lights to get around my house at night. I am just REALLY not comfortable in dark areas. :sadshoe:
-Regret. One of my biggest fears is that I will look back at my life and not be happy with what I've done or where I am at that point. This also means I have a fear of making mistakes.
-Heights. It's kinda gotten worse over the years. I even start shaking on ferris wheels. :bellboy:
-Bugs/Spiders. ICK! Hate them! I always make my mom kill them for me (and we get some BIG bugs at our house. There was a spider in our kitchen one time that was, i kid you not, the size of a silver dollar)
-Roller Coasters. I have tried to overcome this fear, but I just hate that feeling in my stomach when I ride one.
-Being inferior. I always strive to be the best in everything (mostly academics), and I feel that if I'm not the best, it affects my worth.
-Pain. I am SO afraid of hurting myself in any way, shape, or form.
Needles. See Pain
-Getting in trouble. I am such a goody two-shoes it's not even funny. I never want people to think of me as a "bad girl" or a "troublemaker", so I ALWAYS abide by the rules.

I've always hated it too. I think it started in a school assembly when I was about 7 and had to collect a certificate in front of everyone and I just stood there and cried XD

Sucks though because at work I've been asked a few times to train a room of people and either ran out of the room or just flat out refused to do it lmao I should have grown out of it by now.

Several times I've had cats attempt to claw my eyes out, and I'm pretty sure that my insane neighbor's dog nearly caused me to go blind on one occasion... Add that to the list.

Am I the only one that cannot stand bridges? I always feel like they're going to collapse either under me or on top of me. I mean, I know that it's irrational because most bridges are really well built and sturdy and blah blah blah, but they still freak me out. I'm that way with being on a boat far out in the ocean too, I always feel like it's gonna sink ;_;

And I agree with cockroaches. Those things are horrible! I don't really mind other insects except for wasps, though. Spiders usually don't bother me. There were two really enormous ones on the wall of my cousin's garage but they never even freaked me out. We just left them alone, and they left us alone. :B

I hear ya! I'm always paranoid about stuff like that. I was on a retreat in North Carolina once and had to cross a "Mile High" Bridge. My fear of heights, paired with paranoia of bridge collapse = death. :(

I suppose I'm a bit scared of speaking in front of people too. Every morning after a nightshift I have to hold a report to the morning shift people and I hate it. If someone asks me something I probably seem like a total moron being all "umm... uh... yes? no? I dunno. No wait I do I just can't get it out of my mouth." ><
It's funny because people say that I'm a good public speaker when I try. They keep claiming they can't see my hands and legs trembling. :P

I used to act in the local theater, too. But it's different when you're in a role, you're not speaking as yourself.

This is a shame, because I love dolls and one of my hobbies is the creation and construction of porcelain dolls. I love dolls more than people themselves and I'd rather interact with dolls over people for the rest of my life.

My only fears revolve around basic human survival instincts. Under incredible heights, I will buckle, for example, due to my not often being in a very high up place. I'm sure over time I could get used to it, but as of now my body reacts negatively. I do have a certain fascination with the fear mechanism, however, so I get a bit of a high from experiencing it.
