To the relief of, well, pretty much everyone on CR, Last Window is getting a localization!!!
Out in Europe on September 17, it will be released under the name "Last Window: The Secret of Cape West"

This is amazing news that we honestly did not expect to see. As we covered two months ago, CiNG, the developers of Hotel Dusk, filed for Bankruptcy. Since then, we haven't heard anything regarding our favorite second party developer. Or at least, until now.
Croik has however, just received her import copy of Last Window, so you can expect updates to 'WHAT A?!', our Hotel Dusk subsection as she gets around to it.
I'm really really excited about this. We're going to have to plan something big for this rise from the ashes release.

This news is almost as great as the whole of E3, no wonder they saved it for later. Even if it is for Europe.
Now for the small hope that they will be kind enough to localize it to North America, seriously, Kyle Hyde is the man.

Even if it's in Europe, the DS isn't region-locked, and this game is DEFINITELY worth importing. Of course, they might announce a NA release soon, but w/e. It's being released in English, and that's good enough

Yes. YES. YES! This is the best news I could get today! When Cing's bankruptcy was announced, and there were no E3 news, I was already saying goodbye to a localization. But this... just made my day.
Oh God, September 17!? The Unwound Future comes out on September 12 in NA... Sequels to the Hotel Dusk and Professor Layton series in the same month!? Jesus, I'm so hyped right now!!!
September can only get better if a new Ace Attorney game is announced.

Unfortunaly, CiNG has nothing to do with this European release, because they've gone bankrupt. Everything (translation, distribution) is by Nintendo of Europe.
And unfortunately (again... semi unintentional pun), I really doubt there'll be a release elsewhere. LW will probably have the same fate as Another Code: R, which was only released in Europe. The fact that it hasn't even been announced in the US (yet?) means NOA has nothing to do with it.
Games are really rarely released/announced in Europe before the US, and it only concerned big games, such as Zelda or Mario.
But still... as someone already said, the DS is not region-locked, so importing shouldn't be too much of a hassle. And the game IS released in English, so we can celebrate this glorious day!
