These are cute sprites but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, the second one isn't original enough. It's Thalassa with recoloured hair and dress. The first one is better although still not too different from Pearly.

This isn't a bad thing, and everyone has to start somewhere - looby's comments weren't THIS IS A BIG FAT PIECE OF DUNG, as you seem to think. To me it sounds like he was offering constructive criticism, and that'd be something to take on board. These are just recolours/minor frankenspriting, and that's the cold hard truth of the matter. I'd recommend playing around with swapping heads and eyes and bodies and see if you can come up with anything cool. :) You could put all sorts of heads onto that Thalassa body (though I haven't seen many people do this actually, there's probably a reason for that), for a start, or even just fiddle with splicing some random characters.
Practice, practice, practice. If you're no good at OC-making, coming in and posting up a storm about how you can't 'edit or scratch' isn't going to help. Mess around a little more and when you think you're ready, post it up and we'll tell you how it looks. :)

I don't know how people judge their own OC's but I use this from the OC contest. I think if it fits the criteria for the contest, then it can be called OC =U
But again, I never said they were crap and I'm only trying to help you so you can get better at it. But I guess some people just don't want help
so I won't offer anymore unless someone specifically asks.
