The Turnabout Sister's Ballad....I'd say it was amazing, but the song needs more credit. Something more than very amazing too. The lyrics and your voice is amazing.

This is just a suggestion, but now that you got a better quality microphone, you can redo the Godot song? But only if you really want to.

Not sure if you'll take requests, but I'd like to make one anyway. You haven't done an AAI character yet, how about Badd? If I see you post a video of it, that would make my day week.

Aww, I am so glad you were able to emotionally connect to it! Mia and Maya had an incredibly moving relationship, so it's great to hear the song was able to do the same for you. :maya: <3

Okay so I know I'm probably gonna sound really dumb saying this but...I have no clue who Rina-chan is! ^^;

Is she on YouTube? Link me to her channel if she is, I'd love to hear her stuff! :)

Spoiler: @ MiaFeyFan
Thanks SO much! I really, really appreciate it -- comments like yours are so motivating and they make me smile! I'm glad you enjoyed the music. :pearly:

Spoiler: @ Meenyman
Thank you so very much!! Much appreciated~! <3

As far as re-recording Godot's theme, that's something I had been really excited about doing, but then I realized you can't update a video's audio track on YouTube so it kind of demotivated me, lol. I know I could always reupload it altogether, but I'm kind of OCD about having stuff in order and it would really bug me to have two uploads for the same song, hahah. :B

What I did do, however, was I spent a little time with the existing audio track and I tried to fix it up a little so that the terrible mic quality wasn't as apparent on higher notes and so there was less feedback. That edited version is the download I have up in the description for the video! :phoenix: (But I'm sure one day I will end up rerecording, just for MP3 download's sake!)

Thanks for the suggestion on AAI, btw! I love Badd, he's totally badass...no pun intended, lol. I'd love to do some of the songs from the game (particularly his and Yew's...omg Yew's is sheer awesome) but my only problem is I'm a stickler for the arrangements I use and I've yet to find good ones of theirs. :larry: But rest assured, I WILL keep looking! (And if I can't find anything, maybe one day I'll actually get off of my lazy butt and try to come up with and record my own, lol.)

and finally... (dramatic emphasis hahaha)

Spoiler: @ sparkle, CP, and Adrian in Black
AiB was actually right -- I did indeed cover the Guitar's Serenade once! It was a loooong time ago, though, before I really got into this kinda stuff so it's, um, well it's kind of rough haha. (And old mic = not very good quality!) I actually really would like to do a re-cover of it, maybe with a different arrangement to mix it up! But until then, if you'd really like to hear the old version, I uploaded it for you Sparkle! Pleaaaase excuse the awful quality, though. :will:

I adored listening to the Turnabout Sisters theme with lyrics. The song tells of memories of the past... A recollection of the good times a young girl had when her older sister was still alive... it tells how she misses her recently departed sister. Your lyrics interpret her feelings so well. Your voice and creativity might make you a famous singer/songwriter someday.

Aha, so I wasn't imagining things. I remember listening to several Guitar's Serenade covers on youtube. If I recall, yours was among some of the better ones. It would be interesting to hear you cover one of the orchestra versions (even though those have vocals as well, English and Japanese).

Jk, though. She actually has an account here @ court-records.

the stock example for her work is:

Rina-Chan voices princess Zelda.

Ahh, well thanks!! And it's cool that you remembered!! c:
I would LOVE to use that orchestra version of the Serenade! I was thinking about it the other day, actually. It's so beautiful and I love the music box feel they gave some of the parts! I really wish they had released an instrumental version. ;_;

I'm definitely looking Rina-chan up later to see if I can find more by her! Her voice is adorable. :3

I'm glad to see that you continue to improve with each update. It's always a joy to get to hear your singing voice. The ballad was well done. I enjoyed the somber feel of the song. Gave it kind of a bittersweet feeling and I enjoyed that.

Finally decided to give your channel a look at too and it's nice to see you doing other things other than Ace Attorney. I'm loving the arrangements you pulled off. I really enjoyed the mystifying feel you gave to the Zelda piece. The arrangement sounds very familiar to me though. Is it from the Orchestral arrangement in the Ocarina of Time soundtrack?

Again though, I'm saying yet again that I am absolutely enjoying what you are bringing to the table. They're very enjoyable and I'm glad that you're willing to share and entertain us with your voice. Honestly, I feel you've improved much compared to your earlier works and I'm glad to see that you've had. If I may ask, do you plan on pursuing anything music related in the future?

I'm really glad you enjoyed the bittersweet feeling of the ballad! That's something I tried hard to capture, so it's wonderful to hear that it came through.

Thanks again for your continuous honest and helpful feedback! You are seriously a blessing for me cause you're always motivating me and helping me improve. I hope you enjoy whatever I end up doing next as well! <3

Great Fairy Fountain sounds absolutely stunning. The mystical feeling of the song accompanied with your voice makes it all the more mystifying to hear. It's like the song a goddess sings. You're improving well. Probably the best one I've heard actually.

I haven't commented your work for a while. I've been kinda busy lately. But I've been listening to your character themes with vocals while I'm doing my summer homework and it's really helping me relax and focus. [So, yeah, all the downloads are working fine] Since that first time I listened to your Godot theme, you've really improved! I'm so amazed by that because you were already so incredibly good at singing that anything better seemed unrealistic. Jeez, I wish you were in my school's choir. There are plenty of great singers in it, but you can top them, hands down. Please keep making these and keep singing, because your voice is so beautiful. When you end up as a famous singer, I'll be happy to say that you started out with video game music of all things. XD

Thank you so much!! It's really great to hear you think I'm improving -- I appreciate it a lot! Since Godot's theme, I've really been experimenting a lot with little things in recording and mixing and the performance itself cause I want to get to a point where the quality sounds really good someday. Also, I feel really dumb for forgetting to answer your question about my future involvement with music, haha! I meant to say that music is definitely something I want to keep going with! It's not something that I'd feel comfortable going full out and majoring in per se, but I very much would like it to be an active part of my life, so I'm considering going into a music minor when I head off to college. (I'm currently a senior~) I feel like there's so much I've yet to learn, so I'd love to continue with it and keep improving as much as I can since it's something I love! Hopefully things will work out :phoenix:

Thanks so much for all of your lovely comments, really -- they put a huge smile on my face, and I'm so happy to hear that you think I've been improving! I was very grateful for your first comment on my first song post, and I'm very grateful yet again. c:

Sorry it's taken so long to reply -- I've been traveling, so I haven't had much time to take a look at the forums lately!

To everyone who has commented now or in the past, I just wanted to really say thank you. I know I say that all the time so it probably sounds like I'm saying out of courtesy and out of habit, but I REALLY do mean it when I say I am grateful for all the feedback everyone on this forum has given me! I appreciate every single comment you've given me, and you have motivated me to keep doing what I love. I feel really blessed to be a part of such a great fandom and I LOVE sharing with you guys. Your work is truly fantastic! I adore your lyrics, they suit the songs so much that you would believe the songs were actually written for them! Your voice is also magnificent, undoubtly the best I have ever heard! It reminds me of those of the singers in those Disney movies, you sound much like them (and that was meant as a compliment.) Wonderful! In the future (if you aren't already) you should go further with your voice and your musical talent, it's that good. Please, please, please keep up your work and thank you sooooo much for sharing your works! I heartly enjoyed them all!

All your arrangements are lovely, but it's the Turnabout Sisters ballad that really stands out for me- so beautiful and tender <3

I'm sure you've already had a thousand compliments on your voice, but it really is something special. As has already been said, it really is reminiscent of classic Disney- I couldn't help but think of "A Whole New World" when I was listening, your vocals have that same sort of clarity~

I'd absolutely adore to hear you cover some old-school Disney; I think you could make a beautiful job of the songs. I think I remember you doing a Little Mermaid cover, have you considered something like Sleeping Beauty? "Once Upon A Dream" would sound wonderful with you.

And just out of curiosity, do you take singing lessons? Or is your voice just naturally lovely? :3

Omg, first off let me say that you are such a mind ninja -- I was JUST listening to music from Sleeping Beauty, haha!! <3
"Once Upon A Dream" is one my favorite Disney songs, so now that you've mentioned it, believe me, I will totally cover it soon. :'D

Thank you so much for your kind words! They really do mean a lot to me. :pearly:
As far as vocal training, I've never taken private lessons or anything like that, but I'm involved with chorus at school and the like, so I've picked up some basic things from there! I really would love to look into private instruction one day though, because I know there's a lot that I've yet to learn and I'd love to improve!! :maya:

Both of these were well done Mia. Glad to see you're tackling various genres of music and trying to make yourself more versatile with songs. I swear you continuously amaze me as to how much you're improving with your vocals. For someone who does this just as a hobby, it's quite spectacular.

I admit, I haven't every watched Gurren Lagann, or much anime from the previous decade save for FMA: Brotherhood, only because I loved the original manga, but the way you tackled that song was really well done. I love how you approached the action packed feel to it and you seemed to have gotten really into it which is always great when singing. I feel the more fun that you have while doing it, the better the end result will be, and that was the feeling I had gotten from that piece. Well done.

Cowboy Bebop. Still holds true as one of my favorite animes. Solid story, great music, fun characters. And of course, you can't beat the whole space aspect. You did fantastic on this piece as well. The arrangement was beautiful. I have to say, every new piece you're coming out with makes it harder and harder for me to find flaws and stuff to nitpick at. Of course, it's a good thing.

You really have some talent there and I'm glad to know you don't plan on letting it go to waste. Whether you plan on singing for lots of people or just for the ones you love, I hope you'll be able to use that talent to its fullest. And I hope you continue to have lots of fun while doing it too.

By the way, just a curious question I want to ask. How many recordings do you usually tend to work through before you end up with something that you're happy with?

Oh my goodness, I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop after renting the whole 6-Disc Set at the library last month. You did an outstanding job on Flying Teapot as well as the Gurren Lagann opening. I haven't seen GL due to the fact I don't stay up as much anymore.

Thank you very much!! Loved the feedback on Sorairo Days especially -- when I thought about it, I realized you were right!!
That song is so energetic and upbeat that I actually did end up having lots of fun with it, and I do feel that it helped the momentum and drive of the recording. I'll have to work on more songs like that in the future! :'D

To answer your question about how many takes it takes (lol homonyms), it usually varies from song to song! If it's a song with a pretty straightforward, easy melody/rhythm, I can usually get something I'm pleased with pretty quickly without having to split up verses or phrases much. For a song that has that has difficult phrasing or notes, I try to record each verse seperately because it's a pain having to go back and redo everything else over one missed beat/note/etc that I wasn't pleased with! So I guess it just boils down to the difficulty of the song in the end. :)

Eee, thanks love!! :pearl:
And trust me -- Kagami no Naka is definitely on the way! Now that classes have started back, it might be a while before I can get it all squared down, but rest assured I'm planning on it. Ultramaniac has some of the best songs! I'd like to do the end theme one day, too! :3

Spoiler: @ Auron
Again, thank you!! c:
I know I already said this on YouTube, but great to see another Bebop fan! That storyline is amazing, and the music is absolutely to DIE for. <3

I'm so glad you approved of the cover!!

By the way, I made a seperate thread for my newest project, Phoenix Wright TiK ToK!

It didn't really fit with these, so I thought I'd separate it. Hope you enjoy if you check it out! :minuki:

Hi lovelies, I am REALLY sorry about double posting, but for anyone who is following my non-AA related works, I posted another song today~!

If you remember Outlaw Star, you might want to check it out -- it's an English version of its second ending theme, "Tsuki no Ie" and I'm actually really excited about these lyrics! It was one of my first attempts at trying to write English lyrics to a Japanese song, so this was kind of new to me. I hope you like it if you used to watch the series!

Hitting me with the nostalgia much, huh?

Haven't heard this song in ages, totally forgot how beautiful it sounded. I'm totally glad to see your voice complimented this song wonderfully. Honestly, I feel this is the best you've done yet. I know I continue to say you get better and better with each song you come out with, but I really feel that it'd be hard to improve any more as you really outdid yourself with this piece. You really have a lovely singing voice and I'm glad to have seen it grow in such a short amount of time. I really need to re-watch the series again, haven't seen it since when, the 90s. Thanks again for the song though. It was very enjoyable. =)

Aww, this made my day SO much, dull!! Thank you so very much for all of your kind words!! C:
Although I only recently discovered Outlaw Star, I have no doubt that it carries a huge amount of nostalgia with many because of how classic it is! So I'm extremely glad to hear that listening to my version made you happy.

I really hope I can continue to sing songs that you enjoy in the future just like you did this one! :maya:

Also, I have a HUGE favor to ask of everyone -- if you've enjoyed any of my music, would you be willing to spare a moment and vote for me in the Gyakusheets 2010 contest? My vocal rendition of Godot's them was shortlisted in the solo category, and you can vote for it here until September 3rd:

If you could vote in the poll and maybe spread the word to friends who might enjoy the song, I would be incredibly grateful! :pearly:

OF course I'm going to vote!

It's totally one of the best, you even made your own lyrics for it, it takes a lot of work for that. Not only that, but your voice is great, you got talent!

You did an outstanding homage to The Real Folk Blues. Yoko Kanno would be proud. :godot:

Gonna comment.

I thought that overall it was a splendid job for the most part. Your vocals did feel like they were overpowering the music a bit. I dunno if it was just my sound, but the music felt a bit too quiet for me. I also noticed the background vocal was a bit off with the lead on the chorus in the song.

Minor criticism of course though. I still thought it was well done overall, just some tweaks here and there. Still stands as one of my favorite anime endings and it's always good to see another fan absolutely in love with that song. To me, "The Real Folk Blues" is a brilliant piece and I'm glad to see you took a stab at it. Suppose you've been in a "space" mood as of late? Love it.

Thank you so very much to anyone who voted for me in the Gyakusheets contest!! <3
If you haven't heard, I actually ended up getting second place which is a HUGE honor for me because there were some seriously amazing pieces and arrangements in the contest! I'm quite excited. :)

Spoiler: @ dull on Real Folk Blues
AHH, okay, I just had a really good idea. As far as accompaniment/vocals balance I'm ALWAYS wary about what sounds good any what doesn't because it seems like it sounds different on different computers/headphones/etc etc... It's possibly one of my biggest challenges every time I record, actually haha. Would you be opposed to being kind of a music beta every once in a while if I'm ever having a lot of trouble with that? I figure it might help to get an opinion on another end with a different sound system, and you seem to have a pretty keen ear... So if you're okay with it, I might send you a song or two every once in a while before I put them up so you can double check on that if I feel like I can't get it right!

And thanks so much, by the way! I suppose I have been in a space mood as of late, ahahaha. :maya:
