"That's the problem." Her grip tightened on her cane. "If I killed my brother, that would stop everyone I know being a target. However..." She paused. Did she really want him to know any of this? Might as well. You've already told him every freaking thing else. "It's not exactly easy to kill the don of a mafia, and even if I did, I would be an even huger target afterward than I was before. Oh, and he's my brother and I love him and whatever." She rolled her eyes. "As you can see, I put a lot of thought into this already. My only solution has been to take the blows as they come, and not get close to others."

Sandra side-stepped, ducked under his mock punch, and stuck her foot out in an attempt to trip Felix, tapping her cane on his back.
"That was too sloppy of a lunge. Had I been an actual member of the mafia with a gun, you would have been shot in the head before you could even cock your wrist back," she said. "Lesson one: be more creative. Don't go for a frontal lunge, which would leave yourself wide open for any number of attacks. If you want to stand a chance, you need to be less predictable."

Felix struggled to regain his balance, then smiled once he stood back up again. "That was awesome! You're blind, and you could still see me coming!" After a moment's thought, he frowned. "Well, awesome for you... Anyway. Less predictable..."

He picked up a stick and threw it next to Sandra's head, then ran to her other side and reached out to push her from behind.

Sandra could hear the stick whistling toward her and moved her head to avoid it. As it flew past her, she heard Felix's running to her other side, and she whipped around to strike him with her cane before he could do what he was planning. Unfortunately for her, he was just a liiiiittle quicker than she anticipated, and he shoved her before she could do it, causing her to stumble back, then trip over a stick while she was still stumbling, causing her to fall onto the ground. She just lied there, waiting for Felix to come and try to help her. If he did, he'd be sorry, but it was another learning opportunity.

Sandra, instead of grabbing Felix's hand, tapped him on the stomach with her cane, a signal that she could have struck him if she so chose.
"Lesson two: don't show any compassion. Not for me, not for our enemies," she said, getting up without taking his hand. "If we're in a situation where I've been knocked over somehow, you don't take the time to help me up. You get yourself out of it, understood?"

Felix rubbed the back of his neck. "I've fired guns before, but I'd rather not shoot anybody." He was a pretty decent shot when his dad took him to the range, but he never imagined he would have the capacity to actually shoot anyone. He also didn't own any guns.

Cynthia shrugged and kept flying sometimes bumping into things.

The don eventually trusts him to be his second in command, then dies shortly after and viola, my brother becomes the don. I was a police detective, but...ever since he ran away from home, he's simply been too illusive for me to keep track of, try as I might."

Felix ran a hand through his hair. "Man, this is some crazy shit we're about to get into, isn't it?" he asked Sandra, an unsure smile on his face. He chuckled nervously and stood up from the bench, thinking about the future for them. He knew the kind of danger he was facing, but at the same time, Felix always felt that life was meant to be used for the good of mankind, and saving at least one person was worth dying for.
