Besides, the difference between the next AA game and this is that this one has already been announced, and we're being teased with glorious pictures of beautifully adapted courtrooms.

I'm quite skeptical about video game movies too. I haven't see the FF movie but I heard it was horrible and don't get me started on the movies made with Western interests in mind *coughuwebollcough*

Spirit's Within is a fine Sci Fi in my opinion with some spectacular graphics and most people I know like Advent Children (I hate Cloud so it's not to my tastes) but point is my understanding is that the final fantasy films are GOOD video game movies.
If you're looking for a good example I hear Max Payne is a god awful adaptation along with the DOA movie and also the Mortal Kombat movies are laughably bad.

Hey now! You've not even seen Spirit's Within yet you bash it? It's got fantastic animation and it's a fine film if you aren't looking for one based on a game.

Bloodrayne, Postal, Far Cry, House of the Dead (which was on an island
), Prince of Persia, the Resident Evil movies and Doom to name some more.I find it really hard to make a great video game movie which is why I have serious doubts for the Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed movies (Yes, they are happening) Both are extremely plot and character heavy to pull off effectively, but then again I heard Bioware and Ubisoft are taking part in their respective movies so we'll see. Mirror's Edge? Ehh, just go watch the french movie District 13 if you want to watch some awesome parkour action.

And I've only really argued with you here...on this one topic to my knowledge. XD Sorry if it seems I'm picking on you just the Final Fantasy movies are both ok, Advent Children...isn't to my taste because of the main character but I'll admit the fight scenes are well done and the animation is smooth and some people really love it.
XD Just sayin not all game-to-film transitions are bad also for the record Blak I thought the Prince of Persia movie was pretty good.
Though I hate the Resident Evil movies but in my experience....most people like them. I even know some that are actually 'anticipating' the next one.
