It looked fine to me, except when you shrink the resolution to DS screen size. To do that press start and select at the same time while the game boots up. But I don't recommend doing that because the games look worse.

Where did you learn a trick like that?

In other news.

I hear Wal-mart started selling 3DS at the reduced price a couple days early....meaning they get to capitalise on the free games deal.

I'm probably just butthurt here but annoys me a bit seeing as they get all the benefits...and to my understanding Wal-Mart is as common as Asda or Tesco which means lots of Americans are going to be mwahahaing the day away.

I looked it up on Google. But really, it's not a good idea to do it if you do not want to play your DS games REALLY small and squint at barely readable text.

*Raises hand*

I'm one of those bastards that took advantage of the opportune pricing/free games. Gonna see how that flies tonight.

Reasons not to buy a 3DS are quickly running out.

Except, you know, games.

First Impressions:

Huh. Box is quite hefty. I'm pleased that the stickers used to hold the 3DS box shut aren't the super adhesive types that tear the box in the process of removing them

My gosh. There is so much documentation in this box it's obscene. I will say however, I don't think I've ever seen a box so nicely packed before. There's 0 wasted space between the documentation and the hardware.

Started the 3DS up, slightly surprised that I didn't have to plug it in first. I'm a bit irked that I can't use the D-Pad, and buttons to proceed through the setup. Everything is touch screen only.

Entered my Work's obscenely long Hex password, surprisingly I didn't make a mistake or miss tap. Good designed keyboard I suppose?

Preforming the system update. Still upset that I can't use the D-Pad to navigate.

Decide to look at the power cable while waiting on the update. The adapter itself has the same cool prong fold feature as the original DS. Sweet! The plug end looks vaguely like the Mini-Display/Thunderbolt port connector. Time for SCIENCE! Science of the metal fork in the toaster science, but science none the less.

*poke poke*

Nope, It's the same shape but scaled differently.

Looking at the charge station itself... I don't get it. Seriously. I don't get it. Sure i can set it up, and let it charge... but it seems excessive. There's a flap in the back that exposes the 3DS game card and Stylus. And the front has an indent where the 1/8" headphone jack enters. But you can plug the adapter directly into the charge station... So I'm not sure how this hunk of plastic is cost justified.

And in the e-shop news section... I've got the Ambassador program confirmation message!

Bo-ya!

... now to figure out what good a 3DS is if it doesn't have any games for it I'm interested in until November.

I remember reading it on the 3DS, I think it was one of the birds, but I don't really remember that well.

And I forgot the combination

I just want to play Link's Awakening in "HD"

I really want one! For two reasons:
- My current DS is SO close to breaking, so it's only a matter of time.
- Layton v Phoenix

I asked for one for my bday in a couple of weeks, but I'm getting the whole 'you're too old for big presents' comeback now, dammit :( So, I have no idea when I'm going to be able to buy one. Hopefully they will come down in price.

They already did come down in price, lol

Anyway, I've been buying stuff off the eShop, and I have to say that I never expected it to be as good as it is. Virtual Console is a great feature, and I really hope to see things like Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons for it.

I can't wait for September. These free games are MINE. I've already got Ocarina of Time 3D and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, so some small games will do juuust nicely. Speaking of which, since I got Ghost Trick, I've noticed less difference graphics-wise between playing that on a 3DS/DS and playing, say, Super Mario 64 DS. Which failed epicly.

W-well...I want them to come down MOARRRR. :grey:

In all seriousness, I will probably buy one when my student loan comes through. Using it sensibly, clearly.

Mwahahaha. I love swimming! In meets, I just half-ass my races, and next time, set an easy goal in which my reward is a new phone/game, do it, and my parents buy it!
Except for an iPhone. They're still stalling on that one.

Got a ton of money for my birthday today, more than enough for a bundle and another game, with some money left over for jeans. Which games would people recommend for me? Bear in mind that I've played OoT in every form imaginable before this, so that's pretty much a given at some point.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D. I've never played a SF game before, but this is plain awesome. It's a game where you can just play it. Anywhere. Even in church.

Not this it's an awful fighting game, good for spouts on the bus and not much else.

Get Samurai Warriors Chronicles.
Educational and violent.
