Now that's much better.

Well, back on topic. So we all know there's this monster of a storm coming up to meet the east coast, just several days after that bizarre, albeit not very damaging, earthquake. What are YOU doing to prepare?! I haven't made any evacuation plans yet, but I get just a little more nervous the more west it drifts. Fortunately, I do have the means and opportunity to jet if it gets any closer, but I'm still hoping something happens to punt this bitch out to sea, or at least weaken it a bunch before it lands.

To the rest of you not in this thing's path, feel free to send some good vibes our way.

I'm in California too. This really doesn't affect me in any way.

But I hope things don't get too bad out there...

Well hope you get by it ok.

America's had it's fair share of devastating storms, wouldn't be fair to add another one to it.

Good song though :garyuu:

I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I hope that storm either:
A. is a total bitch and gains enough power to hit Canada, or
B. sweeps around the main land and hits New York hard.
Why am I saying this? Because you're a sick freak Because I want the morons living in this state/country to realize we're not invincible, That's Maine.
NOW AFTER ALL OF MY OWN SELFISH DESIRES, I wish you luck, you poor-fortuned amigo.

I've always thought that Pennsylvania had the New Jersey Shield until now.

My dad bought a lot of doughnuts and candles, but I think we will eat all of them before Sunday.
(also hoping for the first day of school to be delayed because of the flooding hahaha fuckers)

Seeing as how there was a weak ass hurricane that DEVASTATED SPRINGFIELD not to long ago, I am scared shitless. The last hurricane wasn't able to destroy my city (which is pretty much RIGHT NEXT TO SPRINGFIELD), so it got it's cousin to back him up.

I don't wanna end up like Springfield... I'm starting college in a week... :(

Wow...I mean I know Americans have quite a reputation for eating and food but devouring all the doughnuts AND candles? MADNESS.

Though if the hurricane really bothers you maybe you should consider a roadtrip away from the disaster area, y'know evacuating and all that. I know I'd try that if something really dangerous would head towards my family.

I'm in Florida and totally avoided the hurricane, but I've experienced a category 3 hurricane and holy crap 2-3 weeks without power was the worst thing ever. So to whoever is out there BE SAFE and don't lose your mind like I did if your power goes out.

Gulf Coast native here, so I've been through many hurricanes of varying levels. I hope this one turns out to be one of the ones that you think, "Why did we worry so much?" Of course, that does end up giving people a false sense of security for the next round of storms.

Being without power for nearly a month really sucks especially if you are also without work for about the same amount of time. I didn't have an experience quite that bad the last time we had a big hurricane down here, but for many of people in our area it was absolutely miserable.

Stay staff and dry, everyone.

Yeah, I doubt Irene is one of those wimpy hurricanes. It already claimed a couple of lives, one of them being a surfer.

What the hell was he doing surfing in this weather, anyway? Damn, Jersey Shore!

I've known a lot of surfers that will flock to the beach during hurricane weather (before it lands at least) because the waves are apparently amazing.
