JFA because it is my favourite. But also because it is a(n almost) independent game. AA starts the whole mystery of the Fey's, and while Maya and Mia does appear in JFA, it doesn't continue this mystery before Trials and Tribulations.

Trials and Tribulations, no question. Easily my favorite game in the series, and I always seem to have the most entertainment with it in repeat playthroughs.

Best storyline, stars Phoenix instead of Edgeworth and... that other unworthy protagonist whose name makes me cry..., has the most Maya, you get to play as Edgeworth, you get Godot as the prosecutor.

The only reason I wouldn't want it is because of all of the possible shipping hints it throws out to annoy people.

And for the second question, I probably would end up choosing the first game. After all, best place to start a trilogy is from the beginning, right?
