Agreed. ;__; Could this event possibly be related to the movie though? I want GS5 so bad, but we've been disappointed by this sort of thing before. Instead of a game, we get a musical, or a concert, etc.

It seems pretty ridonculous to hype up a series that's currently being overshadowed by it's own spinoffs and no sequel in sight.
I'd love to see a wide range of cameos on whatever mini-cartoon they cook up for it though regardless. {If one is done!}

But I waited a whole year for this TGS! XD The news about Professor Layton v. Ace Attorney was really satisfying however. Having Phoenix in a game, even if he has to share the stage, makes this feel like a real step back towards the main series. Hopefully Apollo will be next.

-GS movie: February opening date confirmed, trailer
-Phoenix in UMvC3: by the time the event happens, he will have been revealed already, so new footage.
-Announcement of something new: I am willing to bet on this. Either a new game (GK3, GS5, or new series?), or something less relevant (new Takarazuka musical, GK on Joypolis stuff, etc.). Or who knows, they may drop a bomb and announce something new and huge, like a GS anime! But I digress.
Hopefully today's details confirm all of the event's topics.

Then again, the Gyakuten franchise has expanded so much in this 10 years, from a GBA game to anniversary-celebratory wines, there's practically no limits to its presence in media. In Japan, of course :P

It's the tenth anniversary! They need to do something big! (I'll cry tears of joy if it's a game, especially GS5, but I won't get my hopes up...) I would love it if it was a new artbook with new illustrations from all the games, or something like that. >w<

That said, it's not entirely impossible for a new game to be in development; GK2 apparently started development in September 2009, barely four months after GK1 was released, and we haven't heard of any new projects for Eshiro since GK2. Further, since the event will most likely be held later this year or early next year, that gives them more time to get together an announcement of some kind. It doesn't have to be on the level of GK2's announcement, either; recall how GK1's reveal was almost entirely mock-ups and art. A GS5 or GK3 wouldn't need too much more, especially since it making the jump to 3DS gives them an excuse not to show off much gameplay early on (and GS5 would presumably be able to focus entirely on story and characters in its announcement by dint of subject matter.)
As for tonight's announcement, I imagine it won't be much more than a date, time, and place, with some vague teases (probably something along the lines of a "new product" to be revealed, leading to endless speculation.)

Got it! I can't read Japanese, so I very rarely visit the official site. I thought the page had just recently gone up. >o<
Underneath the box that has a link to the interview, there are several blurbs, one with a picture of Manfred, one with a guy in a suit, the lady from the musical, a picture of Kristoph, etc. If the interview is old though, then I'm sure the other parts of the page are as well. I was just wondering because they all had the 10th anniversary logo in the corner.
