Basically, even if the voice actors decide to take a massive pay cut(like half their current salary), Fox executives decided that the show is unprofitable at this point and will allow one more season at most before cancelling it.
Say what you want about the show being out of touch, not being funny anymore, overall just lacking everything that made the first 8-9 seasons so memorable. I actually agree with all of this. But having grown up watching this show since the first season, it's going to be sad to see it finally end.

It may have kind of lost its touch in the later seasons, but it's still better than anything Seth Mcfarlane is making.

I'm glad that they'll have more seasons, The Simpsons have been such a huge influence on me when I was growing up. It'd be really weird if it just stopped, it's hard for me to imagine a world where it's finally over

Regarding the scandal, attitudes like this make me smile.
If you were to ask me, I say the show should end at season 25. At the very least, they shouldn't go further than season 30. And they should end it all with a film or two that gives the series actual closure, without having to kill anyone off or anything, in typical Simpsons-style (everything's pretty much back to normal in the end).
Still, if all else fails, thanks to my new God Comedy Central, there'll always be more Futurama. See, that's a show of which I still haven't seen a single bad episode of, and that includes the latest season (number 6, I believe it is). That reminds me, I gotta catch up on it, I read the season finale is as good as or better than the season 4 open ending. I love how this one is the third season finale that was written as a series finale just in case (finales of seasons 4, 5 and 6). Don't worry though, the show was renewed for a seventh season next year (:
