Thanks Capcom, bringing out GS-based food we're hardly ever going to get a chance to eat.

Also what the hell does seafood pasta and rice have to do with GS?
Sure there's noodles but there's also samurai dogs which I think would be better even.

I mean I'm not bothered so much I'll probably never get to Capcom Bar but it's just there's like no straight connection from game to food in this case...whereas the others like Resident Evil brains (though coloured herbs are another suggestion they should consider). Big hunks of meat for Monster Hunter franchise is also valid but....this just feels like they tacked GS onto it....

Oh well it's representing the franchise yay.

The description of the pasta makes it slightly more understandable:
"Make clear who is black (guilty) or white (not guilty). Seafood Cream Pasta"

Which refers to the colors of the pasta (black pasta and white sauce), but 'black' and 'white' are also slang for guilty and innocent (as in : "I think he's white" / -> I think he's innocent)

Well, depending how big issues are regarding racism in your own country, you might indeed be tempted to think it's racist...

In the Japanese language, black and white are just used to express a binary with a certain degree in something. I.e. a white belt vs. a black belt in the martial arts (beginner vs expert) or in this example, with police-jargon, it's used to indicate the degree of suspicion against a person (nothing = white, vs. a lot = black).

That's it? The big news coming is some food that Western fans won't get a chance to eat (most likely)?

Well, the first post says "Regarding Ace Attorney, he said that there will be a number of plans that will make fans of the series happy, starting with the Gyakuten Saiban 10th anniversary event on the 29th." Stuff can always get lost in translation, but if it's correct, it means we won't be getting the 'news that will make fans happy' that he was talking about until at least the 29th. (In other words, this pasta thing isn't it.)

Yeah, guys, the Capcom bar was announced last year. This really isn't what they're talking about.

Yeah I figured just think the GS addition to the bar isn't great or representative of the series.

Doesn't look too appetizing from where I sit. But I've never been known for having a taste for foreign food.

On the other hand, just may be funky considering how I've always eaten and seen eat... but why is there such a large plate to noodle ratio? Wouldn't a smaller plate be more appropriate?

I read that the Capcom bar has some sort of deal with that "Pasela" restaurant. The same people who had the Gyakuten Kenji 2 themed menu.
Image
I wonder if they'll have these still on the menu. Have drink themed based on a 17 year old character, said character can't drink alcohol, derp.
Spoiler:

but of course the Capcom bar is probably just coincidental since it was recently built. Guess we'll just have to play the waiting game til the end of the month.

or something like that, I imagine

Because fancy restaurants are cons when it comes to portion sizes? It hardly looks main-course material to me, maybe it's an appetizer?

Yup, actually it's some sort of resort of some kind, though I heard this is the same company that Capcom is working with for their bar. Here's a few details from the official Gk2 site, http://www.capcom.co.jp/gyakutenkenji/2 ... tml#pasera Man, I wouldn't mind that DeKiller ice cream, yum. Unfortunately I think this already passed, though you might get a shot at that Capcom bar. :)

As for announcing a new title... the dice is in the air on that one.

To recap:
  • Apollo Justice was shown off for the first time at E3. Just his standard pose however. Shown off for real at TGS and Famitisu
  • AAI: Toyed around as New Gyakuten NOT Saiban, shown off at a concert.
  • AAI2: Famitisu and TGS
  • Layton VS. Wright: Twitter teasings leading up to TGS and another Famitisu release.

So we have had 'a' game announced not around TGS. So it's not 'totally' unprecedented. But it's not a typical M.O.

As for a new game being announced at the event, based upon what we do know...

Pros
  • Japan last saw a new GS game in 2007. It's been about 5 years. (Longer if you consider it was announced in '06 I believe?) And they're celebrating their 10th anniversary? Quite the gap. (Though, I'm not sure we should be complaining, we did get Ghost Trick, GK1,and GK2 in that time). If anything would warrant an event a new GS game, IN 3D, would.
  • TGS 2012 is in September. 9 months from now. If it's ready to be shown off Capcom might not be willing to wait that long.

*Shrug*
  • Currently we're just shy of two weeks until the Court Event. Leaks about titles come extremely close to the events, so 'if' we were getting a new game, it's par for the course not to hear about it yet.
  • GK's director offered to help with GS5. Nothing's come of that in a really long time.
  • Level-5 doesn't see a problem with pumping Layton titles along with the Vs title. Capcom 'could' do likewise?
  • Takumi is, at best, undecided about returning to GS prime.

Cons
  • On the other hand, the only time we've had an event for a game was AAI, and that was a new series. So I don't think AAI3 might warrant that kind of fan fair.
  • Then there's the fact that they're going to show off an old TGS court video. I'm unsure Capcom would want to show one of those off if it'd detract attention from a new title.
  • The GS team, or at least, Takumi in particular, is working on Layton Vs Ace Attorney. If we're going to get something that isn't professionally published fan fiction like AAI, it's not going to be any time soon.

There's also the fact that the series only has one 10th Anniversary, so precedents are pretty irrelevant. Anything could be announced there. Literally anything. They could even announce the existance of Gyakuten Saiban 5 for 3DS, with a logo preferrably, saying that Takumi has decided to write it after he is done with PLvsAA. Some kind of "It's coming, but don't expect it anytime soon" reveal. So like the first time it was "announced" in 2008, just that this time they can act accordingly not to repeat that fiasco.

I for one am pretty optimist for a game reveal of some nature. Either GS5, GK3, or a new game altogether. Then again, I could be completely wrong. This event could be a huge disappointment for us AA fans just like Level-5 World 2011 was for Layton fans... and us AA fans. Of course, let's hope it's the complete opposite!

If a new game is on its way, I'm not sure I'd expect to see anything from Famitsu ahead of it. Famitsu technically comes out on Thursdays in Japan if I'm not mistaken (leaks happen Wednesday, Tuesday night in the states), which is still a few days before the anniversary event. With AAI, the article came about two weeks ahead of the concert, which suggests they wanted to formally announce it there rather than at the concert. This, however, seems like an event they'd want to save any big announcements for, rather than just announce it in a magazine.

What Famitsu might have early is that new PLvsAA info, since that's just an update and not a big announcement. (In any event, I'm hoping they convert the PLvsAA site into an actual site rather than a flashy promo page after this update - it's cool-looking, but very out of date. :yuusaku: )

Well, it's not like it's just announcing GK3/GS5: it's that, AND the 10th anniversary; it's not like they're coming up with some random new event just for the game.

True enough, but don't forget that
Quote:
GK's director offered to help with GS5.

Random thought, but... I think a GS5 that has Nick as the protagonist would fit perfectly with the theme of the event :yuusaku: (not that I want that, but... just a thought)

EDIT: I don't remember size 1 font being that big
